Fantastic reception staff, who were really friendly. Great location, beautiful bedrooms and nice details and extras such as coffee machines and a yoga mat.

The staff in the restaurant weren’t as attentive as the reception staff. The breakfast buffet also wasn’t the best I have experienced. The set up was not very accessible and cumbersome to navigate, lifting lids, reaching across things and not much room to place plates. Poor choice of vegetarian sausages, think they were Linda M and as usual dry, so much better options now available. Surprised no prunes, berries, grapefruit, cucumber or fresh tomatoes. Also no full size croissants. If improved it would be exceptional. I also didn’t like they had the pizza oven on every morning, for show, wasting gas.

I'd never stayed in an Innside by Melia before, but would do again - it exceeded my expectations. I was up in Newcastle for Magic Weekend (COYS!) and had been due to share a with a mate, but he got called into work. So on arrival the receptionist switched me from a twin room to a double and I had views of the River Tyne. The room was big, you could've fitted 3 into the shower (which was behind glass with a separate room for the toilet) and the fridge having free non-alcoholic drinks in (water, lemonade) was a thoughtful touch. Didn't have breakfast here (cheaper next door at Wetherspoons) or use the bar, but the place is classily decorated with a Gino D'Acampo restaurant that had loads of outside seating overlooking the water. The staff were incredibly friendly too - all in all a great place to stay.

Parking is limited and costs £15 for 24 hours on a first come, first served basis. Alternatively there is a pay and display next door at Wetherspoons. That additional cost is the only negative - the hotel and location are great, although it's a bit of a steep walk up to the main city centre if that's something you need to consider.

not sure i'd have been very keen on the shower not being entirely separate from the bedroom if I was sharing with a friend.

Fabulous hotel. Perfectly situated for access to the centre of Newcastle. The hotel itself was exceptionally clean and well kept. From the first interaction with the staff to the last they could not have been faulted - friendly and helpful. The trip started out well with us being upgraded to a riverside room and continued to keep the high standards. Even when we had a problem with drainage from the shower it was dealt with quickly and efficiently. One staff member also gave us a comprehensive list of restaurant recommendations. I would not hesitate to book again. How a hotel should be run.

AMAZING BREAKFAST. Eggs cooked to order--omelets, fried/poached eggs-- as well as vegan sausages. Cold buffet with smoked salmon, charcuterie, pastries, cereals, juice, plus a hot buffet with all the British specialties (cooked meats, mushrooms, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, beans, potatoes, jams, toast). Coffee machine, tea, hot chocolate, etc. The breakfast room has great views of the river and is well staffed. Tables are cleared immediately, and there's plenty of room for everyone. And breakfast service starts at 6:30am, which is really important for us early risers and people needing to get going early! Among the very top hotel breakfasts I've had in my life. My studio room had a terrific view of the river and Newcastle's many bridges. I enjoyed the free drinks in the mini-fridge, Nespresso machine, cozy slippers and robe, and tons of space. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and good at their job. They also know the area well and offered helpful suggestions for shops, etc. The hotel is very well staffed. Bottle opener was delivered to my room in about two minutes. Fitness center is small but well supplied and clean. And it has windows (unlike most hotel gyms)! There's excellent jogging/walking along the riverside path right outside the door. The sunrise is amazing. Good restaurants within a few minutes' walk. Excellent value--I can't believe this place doesn't cost way more. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Shower door didn't close fully, so water tended to pool on the floor. I can find fault with absolutely nothing else.

Everything was exceptional with this hotel the staff were very friendly upon arrival, every morning I came out the lift the receptionist always smiled and said morning which made a nice start to the day. A free room upgrade to a river review was also a bonus.

The only issue i had at the time was when i had eaten in the gino restaurant extra items that I hadn’t ordered were added to my bill which was rectified after the member of staff did abit of chasing the manager around who in fairness seemed very busy so i think this might of been a slight mistake the manager was very friendly sorted the bill .

Good location at the quayside, with plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Rooms were well appointed and a reasonable size. An added bonus was having several full sized drawers for storage, which you don’t usually get in hotels.

I wasn’t keen on the open plan layout of the shower area, particularly with our room being front facing, looking directly onto the apartments opposite. Even with the privacy screen in the shower, it felt very lacking privacy and we practically had the curtains closed the whole time we were in the room, which felt a little claustrophobic.

This hotel is the perfect location, right next door to a weather spoons, all the bars 3 min walk, beautiful modern decor, immaculate, clean, staff were fantastic always smiling and there to help or answer questions. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We came for our one year wedding anniversary and it was just the best time. Check out at 12 also 👌🏼 I will be back 10000% wouldn’t go anywhere else now I’ve been here! We ate at Gino d’acampo restaurant which is situated in the hotel and we were seated in the terrace. The food was fantastic and the waiter Ellis was the best! They hotel even gave us a little card to wish us happy anniversary with a bottle of Prosecco for me and a beer for my husband chilling in the mini bar of our room for us arriving! The mini bar drinks are all free also and complimentary. If u ever see this hotel just book, price is fab I would happily pay more for this place!

Beautiful hotel, immaculate. Very friendly staff, we were upgraded to a room with a river view which was stunning. Facilities were fantastic and included a complimentary mini fridge which was well stocked with various soft drinks and a couple of beers. Great location for everything. 10% off at Ginos restaurant for all hotel guests, the food was amazing. Breakfast is also served in the restaurant and is a self service buffet, including full English as well as continental. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting newcastle!

The only thing is the very limited parking for the hotel, however, we still got a space but there is only probably 10 bays in total.

Stayed here before in a River view room and this time stayed in a City view room and both have been lovely. City view room was a corner suite which was a nice surprise since we had only booked a standard room. Despite facing the road, couldn’t hear any noise of traffic from inside room. Very well sound proofed from outside noise! Bed was comfortable and blinds thick enough to block out all light (from the 4 windows of the corner room) for a great nights sleep. Mini fridge had some complimentary drinks inside and all in all a very lovely stay. Wish we were there for longer than the one night!
