Right from check in until we left, the staff were excellent. Helpful, engaging polite etc. Breakfast was good. Bed was comfortable. Location very good.
We found the room very warm. You could not turn the AC down beyond what I imagine was a preset temperature.

Location.. close enough but not right on top of the city centre..
For a big brand hotel with all them room..The very claustrophobic..badly planned area for the buffet breakfast...Get there early have freedom to wait for toast from a very poor toaster..get your coffee from the only coffee machine.. choose your cereal and orange at the same time..go back and get your warm buffet breakfast..Get there late join a very long queue stretching into reception...try loading up and struggle to find a seat...It is unacceptable that the hotel should notify you via an A4 size notice that queues are likely ..Have a rethink design a bigger better area..and extend your breakfast times

Cannot fault it really. Can't say I've stayed in a holiday inn in yeeeeears so I wasn't expecting much cannot lie. It was a stop over for the child to do the mini North run and places to stay were in short supply over the gnr weekend. Firstly and probably most importantly - the staff were literally incredible. Welcoming, kind and really quite hilarious. The reception was bright and clean, the room was small (probably with the sofa bed down) but it was cosy and realistically an average size for a room. Just us getting under each others feet!
The only thing we had to sort was more coffe (standard). No problem asking at reception though as the guy was more than accommodating despite doing a million things at once (sorry my guy) on a Friday night.

We always stay here, we love it. Staff are lovely, everything is close by.
2 rooms we have never stayed in, abit different to the others we have, big cut in the chair, windows dirty, paint coming of the walls, carpet dirty in places, shower wasn't as powerful, alot of dust, no phone to reception. Daughters key card for her room was working properly, could of been she had it in the back of her phone but when they reset it and she never put it in her phone again it still wasn't working properly. I never really nit pick about things but the room could do with a bit of paint and clean carpet. Would still stay, the staff are lovely.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express while visiting relatives in Newcastle. The hotel was clean and the room was comfortable. The members of staff were friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is good. The location is very good for public transport. It is close to Newcastle Central station and it is not far to walk to the city centre. The hotel is very reasonably priced.
There was nothing that we did not like. The immediate vicinity of the hotel is not very attractive, but it is only a short walk to more attractive and interesting parts of the city.

All the staff in reception and the cleaning staff were lovely. But a huge thank you and mention Michael on the main desk he is such an amazing member of your team and deserves so much recognition for his friendly, kind and warming welcome and his attitude to guests. He gave me a fan as our room was warm, then we were on a floor with a stag do on our first night ( we opted to stay right near the centre so knew this may happen) and he kindly moved us to a higher floor for our second night and could not help us enough, went above and beyond. Always smiling and saying hello and just a pleasure to have on your front desk. Breakfast was lovey, plenty of food, staff always topping up and if they had ran out of anything and you asked them, they got it within minutes. Was extremely busy with the football fans but your staff coped amazing well and were on the go making sure everyone was happy. We will be back and staying with you and recommended you to family and friends.
Loved everything

We were a family group - we booked 3 twin rooms. One of the rooms we booked was an accessible twin room for a wheelchair user. We were happy with all the rooms which were all clean and comfortable, The accessible room was spacious and comfortable and we were very pleased with it. It had a good spacious accessible bathroom and it was possible to move about the room. The hotel was convenient for Newcastle railway station which was a short walk, even with a wheelchair. There was a good breakfast included. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We would be happy to stay in this hotel again the next time we visit Newcastle.
The doors were heavy and quite difficult to maneuver with the wheelchair. The bathroom door on the accessible bathroom was quite heavy and a bit difficult though we managed it. The reading lights beside the bed were very poor and gave off virtually no light. We had requested the rooms to be close together and two of the rooms were close together and one was on the next floor above. This was not actually a problem for us because our party was 5 adults and a teenager and the accessible room was beside one of our other rooms.

Great hotel for a stay in Newcastle. Close to the Main train and bus stations for Newcastle, and a short walk away from bars and restaurants, we felt the location was great for our stay. Staff were lovely and very friendly, and we received a really warm welcome. The staff were also full of excellent local knowledge and were genuinely invested in us having a good stay. The room was neat and beds were very comfortable, and we got a really good night's sleep. Breakfast was a buffet with all of the usual offerings. Food was well cooked, as well as being nice and hot. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Newcastle.

Value for money as it was a city centre location, last minute option, staff service was also good specially the gentleman at the bar he works really hard. Thank you very much! Also, maybe a few more selection for the hot breakfast but nothing I can fault it was an exceptional compliment for our stay.
Location (around 9-9:30pm)- you’ll feel safe but as a family with ethnicity I felt bad we received some racist remarks from a local (maybe mental health issues/binge drinking) since we were taking photos of the city just before it was getting dark.
