The Hinton Guest House

We stayed in the family suite, so a double and twin rooms with one bathroom but fully self-contained. We really loved that it was fully self contained. Beds were comfortable. Nice in-room tea trays etc. Within walking distance of THE best pub - The Bull's Head, recommended by host. Breakfast was casual but nice. Lots of fun reading paraphernalia in guest lounge. Enjoyed a couple of on site drinks from the well stocked bar. Parking on site and easy.

We had to pre-book a breakfast time the night before and the one we wanted was gone so we had to have an earlier start than we would have liked.

Warm welcome from the host, lovely homely feel. We had a family room which was actually two rooms (a double and twin) with an en-suite bathroom, so plenty of space with very comfortable beds and good selection of tea/coffee and biscuits. We were given the option to relax in the conservatory space which was nice and I imagine the rear garden is lovely too in warmer weather. Two pubs, a Co-op and chippy all within easy walking distance!

It's difficult to find any criticism, but to really split hairs the shower was a little on the weak side and I opted not to have bacon with my cooked breakfast, so was a little disappointed to only get one chipolata (about half of a normal sausage), but I wasn't bothered enough to request another and I dare say the host would have accommodated if I had

Beautiful house. Very well presented inside and out. Very quiet with no creaking floor boards so not disturbing other guests. Gorgeous feature window in bathroom of room 2. Bed very comfortable. Lovely organised and served breakfast, host couldn’t do enough for us. Located close to a shop for convenience and numerous places to eat close by.

Very warm in room as sun had been shining all day, couldn’t feel air from open windows through closed curtains and no fan. Perhaps the addition of a privacy net on window would allow air to flow without drawing of thick curtains.

The bed was large and very comfortable. The room is an excellent size as is the bathroom. Breakfast was excellent with lots of options. Our host was great fun. Parking is off street and easily accessed. Loved the desk for PC work (chair probably needed a back for comfort). The B&B is very quiet. Very good storage shelf in the bathroom (not usually available in English bathrooms). There are a couple of excellent pubs nearby (walk to in 10 minutes but don't try to drive and park).

We were in the front room and it probably needed black out curtains due to lighting from the Christmas decorations and outside lighting. The shower over the bath was a bit cramped probably due to slightly low water pressure.

The breakfast was nice, and so fast considering the lady was on her own, I liked the desk and was able to set up my laptop, I have to admit I only stayed there 1 night, and went up there to see a friend, we had dinner at a pub called the swan with the 2 necks, and it was scrumptious, I could have spent all night eating the pudding, over and over AND over again. The owners where very friendly and made us feel very welcome. I liked the lady that greeted me very much.

1 night was not enough I would like to have gotten to know the host. ( I hope you are not offended )

Lovely detached property with ample parking in front of house. Warm welcome and room ready earlier than advised. Property very clean throughout and good options for breakfast. Pleasant breakfast room and quickly served with freshly prepared meal and piping hot food and coffee.

Stayed in Room 1 which whilst adequate was fairly small and not a lot of room to unpack bags except on bed. The shower was pretty feeble and I would describe as need to run around in it to get wet. Having said that it did the job and plenty of clean towels

Lovely friendly host. Great garden to relax in. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. There is a great pub within easy walking distance serving lovely food and a shop seconds away. The owner provided us with local taxi number to take us to wedding venue. I would highly recoomend pre booking one Would stay again

You are on flight path as is every other property in area so cannot be avoided but we knew this before booking The shower over bath hadnt much water pressure but worth it for the room we stayed in. Our friends Walk in shower had no problem

The 2-room 'Family Suite' was perfect for me and a friend. Beds comfy, breakfast lovely.

Water pressure in the shower is lacking. Can hear people talking and dishes clinking in the dining room directly below the Family Suite when breakfast starts - no problem if you want to wake up early. Some other guests do not park considerately - we were the last to arrive, car park full... but there would have been room if everyone else had lined up their vehicles better...

The landlady was friendly, the room was immaculate, The location was easy to find on the map. I only used this guest house as I wanted to break my car journey from Lancashire to Essex after a long few days' work. It was perfect. I indulged in the cooked breakfast and was given extra coffee and toast at no extra cost. I was expecting to hear the traffic through Manchester Airport but I wasn't disturbed at all.

There's nothing I didn't like but simply the place was so immaculate and the room so beautifully presented I felt like I was 'treading on eggshells . . .' - I believe is the expression. I simply didn't want to giver her or the staff any more work to do than they had already. Ann could just do with moving to posher circumstances so she can command the higher price-tag she deserves and avoid custom like mine - possibly hire a half decent chef and run a bistro would suit her. I'm more the 'Shower etc. & Shave' end of the market with maybe a takeaway option for brunch.

Excellent service, really friendly owner who exceeded our expectations. Nothing was too much trouble. We stopped in the family room which was spacious.

Would have loved a later check out time. Unfortunately on this occasion we weren't able.to arrange. Only thing that could of improved the stay would have been the shower pressure as this was quite low.
