The Courthouse

Really friendly staff, absolutely spotlessly clean, finishing touches in the bedroom felt luxurious (nice bedding, robes, water by the bed, nice toiletries in the bathroom). Great parking. Great location.

Our experience of the breakfast was quite poor - a very long wait and then a request for a gluten free version of the breakfast came with gluten products on it. The staff sorted it quickly but it did ruin the enjoyment. Also it would be nice to have a lounge area to sit and have a drink - the room was really comfy but nowhere to sit and the bar just had high bar stools at tables or dining tables. The finishing touches could also be looked at - chipped paint and wires waiting for light fittings. This place feels on the verge of luxury but it's not quite there yet.

Nice room and the history of the hotel is fascinating, staff knowledgeable and nice. Lovely hotel and room would stay again.

Although the restaurant and hotel is steeped in history the restaurant lacks atmosphere and was very quiet although live music was playing it was overpowering. Food was reasonable which is also reflected in the price. This hotel and restaurant really should be the busiest restaurant in knutsford but was very quiet on the night compared to others. Definitely would stay again but would eat elsewhere.

Comfortable bed, clean room. Nicely decorated. The bathroom was perfect. Good location. Managed to book a room the same day so very convenient. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Only two minor issues. 1. I know it was a bank holiday Sunday evening (about 10/11pm), but the entrance was locked. It took about 10/15 minutes to gain access or find someone to let us in. 2. There was a bright light on the door of the room that made it difficult to sleep at first. (I think this is where you swipe the entrance fob.)

Great location Great staff, friendly and helpful. Room had a cosy feel. Comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast.

The room decor was lovely and dark, but when it came to reading, using the aircon and putting make up on, we could hardly see!!! All the bulbs had a vintage look giving off a lower yellow light, one or two normal bulbs would have helped. Great for relaxing though.

We travelled up as family from London for a Manchester football match and decided to stay just outside the city for a change in Knutsford…..The Courthouse is almost castle like in proportions, extremely impressive Georgian converted court building in the very centre of town. Excellent value & great breakfast. One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in & only 25 min drive to the game.

We found nothing negative to say, very pleased.

Location was very convenient. Really nicely decorated. The facilities were good and restaurant looked beautiful. The manager Ian helped us a lot as we had to book extremely last minute at night after an ordeal at another holiday location. He kindly upgraded our room for us as it was our anniversary. We would have loved to stay longer.

I had a little accident so didn't really get the full benefit of staying the full length of time at the Courthouse. The staff were very kind, considerate and helpful. I would need to stay again to have a more accurate experience.

The bed was very comfortable, the shower was great. The staff were very helpful, the location was fantastic and very convenient. The parking was great. The heater was very warm, not sure if the heating was working?

The room was a bit dark One day the breakfast wasn't great The bar didn't have a wide beer selection.

Unique boutique hotel, staff excellent and very friendly and helpful. Room was huge and very clean. Beds very comfortable.

No window in the room made it feel very claustrophobic. There wasn’t a phone in the room that we could find so had to get dressed to go to reception when we had a problem with the air con. The room was very hot and staff couldn’t get the air con going. Had to use the fan from the wardrobe to try and cool the room. And of course with no window to open….

I had an amazing room with beautiful high ceilings and a huge walk in shower. Large bed with clean sheets. I had an amazing roast on the Sunday night with a giant Yorkshire pudding - would thoroughly recommend this.

I could have used more lighting in the bathroom as it was a bit dim in there. Sadly the kitchen wasn't in used for breakfast and the continental option wasn't worth it. Staff were a bit hit and miss - some were absolutely amazing but others were not so helpful.

Family room, location, car park, building. The use of local cleaning products shampoo etc

Lack of information on products. They have a sign in the room saying if you want to purchase any toiletries go to reception. However reception didn't have a clue what we were talking about. Also rooms are dark could do with a dimmer switch for the wife's make up.
