Best Western Manchester Altrincham Cresta Court Hotel

We stayed one night at the Best Western hotel in Altringham as we were meeting friends nearby. We chose the hotel because it has a very good amount of (free) car parking and also was within walking distance of the Metro station that we planned to use the following day. Customer parking here is valid for 24 hours and so we had time after our breakfast to travel to another appointment in Manchester using the Metro before returning, collecting the car and moving on to our next destination. In summary, despite an unexpected delay checking in and having to haul two suitcases up two flights of stairs, our stay was not an unpleasant one. The hotel met the criteria for our visit in that it had ample parking spaces and was close to Altringham Metro station, being able to leave the car in the car park whilst we visited Manchester was also a bonus. We both slept well and the breakfast kept us going well into Saturday. Would certainly consider visiting here again if we were in the area.

Arriving late afternoon on a Friday in August, we were first told that the hotel had no record of our booking. Apparently, the booking system has been 'upgraded' during the year and any bookings made in the early part of 2023 while not ‘lost’ are not to hand and need to be ‘found’ in the registry. One member of staff was struggling to cope with this reoccurring problem not helped by the subsequent arrival of a coach party. After about an hour’s delay, we were given the pass key to our room on the second floor though unfortunately the lifts were not working either, (though they were operational when we checked out the following day).

Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Really value Danielle and Rahat's understanding and patience, you've been exceptional! Room was clean and throughout my continued stay I could get the room service to only provide what I need. A big thank you to Elena and Kristiyan for this. Small side dinner chips being available for my son was handy so a thumbs up to the restaurant! Grateful to maintenance team / builder for sorting luggage padlock after my long haul flight and covering the bed side shelf corner at my request!

I would have liked if the room was slightly bigger (particularly when having luggage)

The reason for our stay was to spend time catching up with family. We received a warm, friendly welcome from staff at reception. They were also very helpful when we had to report a couple of minor issues relating to our room which were dealt with very quickly. Bar and restaurant staff very attentive. Our Executive room was big and spacious, and importantly it was very clean as was the ensuite. There was a pleasant ambience about the hotel. The hotel itself is close to the town, within walking distance of shops, restaurants and public transport I also treated myself to getting my nails done in Oasis, the beautician on the first floor premises...highly recommend, my nails still looking great a week on

The room was clean, great comfy pillows and fresh sheets. There was a big spider in my bathroom and I'm terrified of them, plus my lad hadn't arrived yet, so I called reception and they came up with a glass and some paper and got it out of the room for me! 11/10 for their customer service even when it was busy with a wedding party and two coach loads of guests.

The bathroom was on the small side and it was a king-sized bed, but could have used a bit more floor space around the bed. Otherwise, no qualms.

The thing that stands out most was the great staff. Zoe and Gary at reception were exceptional. So polite and accommodating. The restaurant staff were cheerful and very courteous. The breakfasts were tasty and well presented. The made to order omelettes were well prepared and more than adequate for a hearty breakfast The location was perfect. Just a shortwalk to the Altrincham Interchange and tram, train and bus connections and Altrincham market. A very nice stay when visiting Manchester.

No gym facilities and restaurant isn't open for mid-day meal.

The hotel was conveniently located for our trip, meeting friends we haven't seen for 4 years. I thought the price was rather expensive and on arrival i was not sure what to expect as the outside is not very pretty. However inside the hotel is really nice. Breakfast was really good and freshly cooked,

The bar closed at 10pm even for residents because they were short staffed - this was disappointing as my friend and i wanted to stay in the bar as our families had gone up to bed. The family room we had was very spacious but noisy, there was a generator or boiler humming all night!

Very nice big executive room ,nice service ,great staff organization, the position of the hotel is fantastic, for business and if you need to tour Manchester and the North West area ! Thank you Cresta Hotel always welcome me !

The standard room are far too small,the bathrooms are very old style small sinks with separate hot and cold water ! No space to put anything around it no shower but just bath were getting inside you can have it,so very unpractible! The bath was not clean as it should have been ...

The check-in was great. We had a small mix-up about our reservation but Zoe solved the issue and was very, very accommodating. Her cheerful attitude and efficient service deserves a Five-star rating. The breakfast was great...super made to order omelette...full English breakfast buffet. Room was adequate size and the bed was very comfortable. We requested a quiet room and it was very quiet. All-in-all a very good stay and we will be back.

It would be nice if the was some sort of exercise facility.

The staff were excellent. Everyone from the reception team, the bar team and the breakfast team were polite and professional. We stayed for two nights bed and breakfast. The breakfasts were excellent as was the service.

The only thing we could fault were the state of some of the chairs in the public areas, some of them were beginning to show signs of wear and tear and will probably require cleaning, upgrading or replacing.

The hotel was easy to find and the decor and facilities were in good condition and clean. The room was spacious and clean, and service was good. The hotel is conveniently located just a mile from the train station, and is not too far from other locations in Altrincham/Hale. The room was small but functional, coffee/tea and kettle provided, bathroom and linens were clean. Bed was comfortable.

There could be more furniture in the room to put suitcases or bags instead of leaving them on the floor. The curtains were not effective with the morning sun and the walls are really thin you can hear anyone else around you. Other than that people were mostly quiet and we had a good night sleep.
