First of all, the location is simply impeccable. The hotel is a five minutes walk from both railway stations, which was very important for me. There is Tesco and Asda one minute away, as well as some smaller convenience stores around. McDonalds is just two minutes away, and there are many restaurants and pubs in the neighbourhood. It is very close to both City Center and Chinatown, so food wise the choice is very wide. As for tourist attractions, Liverpool Cathedral is 10 minutes walk away, and the center of Liverpool is very walkable, you can easily get to the riverfront in 15-20 minutes. I though that the hotel wasn't exactly easy to find, You go past Adelphi, and turn left. The entrance to the hotel is in the same building as Tesco and fried chicken spot. The hotel sigh is pretty inconspicuous, so it is easy to miss. To get to the building you should either have a key or call a receptionist and confirm your name and reservation, so I think it is pretty secure. The access to the room is also by electronic key, plus it is lockable from the inside. As a female solo traveller, I didn't have any concerns regarding my safety. I would like to notice that all the receptionists I met were incredibly nice and welcoming, especially the person who was there in the morning and afternoon. It was a pleasure talking to them. They also let me leave my luggage in a storage room before check-in and after check-out, so I didn't have to explore the city with my bags. The hotel itself is pretty small. My room was tiny, but it had a double bed and TV with all channels and streaming services. There was also a kettle, mugs, biscuits and tea and coffee supply. The room was clean, the bathroom was surprisingly spacious, with private shower room. The room had panoramic windows with a nice view on the street (the building in front of the hotel was very pretty). Overall, I think it is an incredible option, given the location and the price.

The hotel is located over the karaoke bar, so in the late afternoon and evening you might hear loud music. It did not bother me much, because they usually finished before I went to sleep. I don't think it would be a great inconvenience if you're out exploring Liverpool, but it might be if you're planning on sleeping during the day. In my room, I was also missing a small chair/stool/bedside table - any surface, where I could have put my clothes and some other belongings, which could have not been hanged on coat rack or put on the coffee table.

The location is perfect, you can walk to all sights in the city centre, you're just a couple of minutes walk from Lime Street or Central Station and lots of bus stations around, too. There are supermarkets (big: Lidl, small: Tesco) around, pubs and restaurants. It can get loud at night, of course, but that's a given, to take ear plugs with you. The room is clean and modern in grey colours with parquet. The very big bed is extremely comfortable!! There was a water kettle, mugs, tea, coffee, milk, cookies, hair dryer, fresh towels, a chair and next to the bed a padded footrest, didn't really work as bed table. The bathroom had a big shower, but a very small sink. Lots of sockets btw. The staff was extremely helpful and nice, whenever I needed coffee/tea bags/mugs/towels I got them immediately. The reception was always staffed and I felt comfortable with the security measures. When I had a problem with the first room (window not able to open, no fresh air), they immediately switched me to a new room.

Unfortunately, other guests can be very drunk/ loud as well (one night), but the staff handled it. Some of the doors only close with some force, so some guests tend to slam them at all hours of the night. Bring earplugs! The only thing missing in the room really was a bed table, where you could put a mug of coffee, and maybe better blinds/curtains to block the light better in the morning. I brought a sleepmask, that helped. The blinds and windows were a bit stained as well, but it wasn't obvious.

What made my stay at Brownlows exceptional, was the receptionist on duty on my arrival. I think her name was Rachel. Her warmth and friendliness put me at ease, and she helped me with absolutely everything!! She found me a hairdryer, directed me to eating places, and even searched for me train timetables to get me to my onward location the following day. She was exceptional. And I give her 10/10. My room was very small, but okay for me for a one night just to rest before my onward journey. Provisions were basic but adequate.

The bed had not been made properly but this may have been because its located up against the wall. The walls had greasy marks and looked like it needed cleaning, (or a quick paint)

fantastic location clean and comfortable. polite staff and man who was there when I checked in was very helpful and carried my bags up to room I suffer with arthritis in my feet so the steps were a challenge for me after walking but he was so kind to help me and carried my bags barely heard any noise from the street, the shower was really good nice and warm I’d definitely stay again when visiting especially for the empire theatre as only round the corner

there wasn’t really anything I didn’t like it at all apart from the travel kettle looked a little dodgy so I decided not to use it but it wasn’t an issue for me so I wasn’t bothered

Brownlow's is close to the train station and all of Liverpool city centre highlights, museums docks and shopping etc. The hotel has its own unique charm and character, not one of identikit chains. The staff are really great, friendly and helpful, no plastic smiles and clichéd welcomes here which you often encounter these days. The hotel is very clean, standards are maintained throughout the year too. Brownlow's offers a budget hotel that gives you true value for your hard earned money. I stay here work often during the week, this review is based on a multitude of stays.thank You Antony on the team.

No lift, so save some energy for the stairs to the reception especially after a long day.

The location was excellent for my trip and I was very pleased with the quality of the bed and other furnishings. The washroom was well presented. I will be attending Liverpool for future events and I may be staying at this hotel again.

The room faced Renshaw Street right at the busy junction at the top of Ranelagh Street which leads down to the pedestrianised shopping area and Liverpool ONE. I'll accept that on such a junction it's going to be a difficult proposition to completely cancel out the noise of traffic however it would be a good idea to make this clear. Given that I stayed on a weekday I have little idea in terms of the night-time attractions but I couldn't hear the music that on-street was at a significant level from the nearby bars.

There's a lot to put in here. I was most impressed with the location. You literally fall out of the hotel into the city centre. The cost was unreal, given the proximity. The beds were lovely and comfy, the shower was awesome and it's pretty impressive how well used the space for the room was. The staff were very friendly (even though I managed to annoy one of them by showing how good I was at finding my room (I am part blood-hound), though she wasn't really annoyed, I think she just wanted to do her job and my impatience was the issue). We had a couple of issues with the access card and the door locking but these were dealt with immediately and no problems after that. Two great night's sleep.

I didn't like the constant drizzle rain when shopping. Brownlow's Inn, sort the weather out! :) Didn't bother me as such but I know the distance from the reception to our room challenged my good lady wife. If I was booking again I would ask for a room closer to number 23, but that said if you had that room you'd be listening to the Karaoke in Ava's bar getting put through its paces by some of the singers. Our room was in the quadrangle centre of the hotel and whilst we did hear some bar noises they were few and far between and didn't stop us sleeping soundly.

Everything location was great 5 mins from both lime street and central stations , all areas within 5 to 20 mins walk , staff were friendly and helpful 😀 will definitely book again 😀 i was in Liverpool for Eurovision perfect accommodation for what I required, only minor gripe would be personal to my sleeping habits I like compete dark and no blinds at tops of window but wouldn't stop me booking again NO , The price was Great and the room had everything I needed for a party weekend 😀 The hotel is on a main road near late night bars, so there is music till early hours and traffic , bins being empty early morning didn't bother me at all. If you want no frills clean accommodation in a good location to explore Liverpool this ticks the boxes

an historic building a few minutes walk from Lime Street Station, excellently positioned for the Humanist UK Convention I was attending at Liverpool Guild of Students. Although it was definitely ‘no frills’, the room was large and airy with lots of windows, the bed was extremely comfortable and I had an en suite shower room/loo, and as I was on the third floor a window I could open. I had a kettle, tea bags etc and a card key so I could come and go as I pleased. Everything was clean and tidy and worked. All I needed for a busy weekend.

There’s no dining room, bar or lounge. It really is just rooms, so not ideal for a holiday, but perfectly adequate for my purpose, which was to attend a Convention. And Liverpool has so many places to eat and drink it was easy to find everything I needed.

Really friendly and caring staff. I was a lone female, but the staff put me at ease. My room was close to reception and the staff were really attentive and kind. The location is amazing, bang in the city centre. The bedding and towels were clean and smelt clean. The bathroom was very clean.

The walls in room 23, near the bed could do with a spot application of paint. This is the only reason I havent given a top score. The traffic noise during the night was high, particulary with the emergency services sirens, earplugs highly recommended. The blinds also make a lot of noise if you like the window open.
