La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Berkeley

First I liked the manager. Mr. Mooney could not have been more responsive to the concerns I had. Breakfasts were good; greater variety would have helped: berries, french toast, different juices (tomato, v-8); breakfast hours should be extended, especially on weekends. Lastly, paper cups should be microwavable (and there should be one in the breakfast room to warm/cook items). I'll be back.

Staff was not as professional nor friendly as the manager. For a king-sized bedroom, I would have hoped for much more space. Road noise was significant. Shower flow was pathetic, and it was difficult to modify].

This location was less than 10 minutes away from where we were working on thiss trip. The bed and shower were both really amazing. This is an area that was previously questionable but its cleaned up and really quite nice and safe. I'd stay here again.

It's clear that this is an updated property which I really appreciate, however the hallway smelled of pot smoke which lingered into the room which affected how I slept.

The location is in the heart of Berkeley and there are many places close by to walk to. That wasn’t our purpose, though - we just needed a comfortable place to stay overnight while visiting grandchildren on Halloween. The pool looked nice and next time we stay we’ll plan on using it! The breakfast was mediocre - powdered scrambled eggs, non-browned sausages and a bunch of cereal and toast choices. Fresh fruit was bananas.

The breakfast is excellent. Mr. Mooney, the general manager, is a very kind man. He treats guest like we are guests in his home. We love him and his staff. Special shout out to Audra ...we love her too❤️

The attitude of the young African American concierge. She talked on her telephone during our transaction, have no eye contact, and didn't say thank you. Very nasty attitude.

I arrived very tired and a few hrs before check in. I was able to do early check in without additional cost. That meant so much to me since I hadn’t slept in 24hrs. Also they have a washing machine. That was a huge plus

Staff was very nice and friendly! Breakfast was a treat! Clean.

The only thing we didn’t like was the parking some big white moving trucks we’re taking very much needed parking. Our concert ended late and we got lucky with only one spot left to park through the whole facility.

Parking was full at times, and there were some noises during the night, which can't be controlled I believe.

Easy access, free parking, a very comfortable bed, decent sized room. No charge for our service dog!

The pool wasn’t heated and no hot tub. You can see where they had one in the past, maybe pre- Covid.

People friendly and all the staff was great even the guest was friendly. Breakfast was nice and any question I ask was answer so I really had enjoyed my stay

Matt and other staff were wonderful in working with us to address some medical constraints. Thank you! Breakfast was two kinds of bagged meals (due to covid), with adequate size and healthy selections. Location was about 1/2 mile off of the interstate.

Road construction made access to the interstate awkward. Would have preferred a water heater in the room for coffee or tea.
