Pelican Inn & Suites

We upgraded to an oceanfront room and watched a beautiful sunset from our patio. Easy access across the street to the beachfront boardwalk which was a perfect location for daily walks along the beach. Highly recommend picking up breakfast at the French Corner Bakery in Cambria.

We were on the ground floor and the sunset view was somewhat obstructed by the fire hydrant and the road traffic. Would suggest requesting a higher floor with a balcony to be above the street level. Understand you pay more for the oceanside location but did feel that the room was a bit overpriced (general perception, but admittedly haven't done a thorough comparison of others in the area).

The Ocean View suite was amazing. The view couldn’t get better. The staff was very friendly. I liked the fireplace in our room. And hubby loved the water pressure in the shower. The grounds are beautiful too and it’s 30 steps to the Moonstone Boardwalk. ❤️. I think this is the Best hotel on Moon Beach for the Ocean View. We had our door open at night and listened to the waves crashing.

My pillow cases had holes in them. Sheets were over starched and very uncomfortable. There is no elevator to the 2nd floor. The carpeted steps needs an overhaul. And if you are going to have Starbucks coffee in room, you should At least provide bottled water. Please do not expect coffee drinkers to drink “spigot” water. 🤢. The place needs TLC. I told my hubby if I win the Lottery I’m buying this place and give it some love!!

Mainly like the location, general ambiance, grounds, rooms, beds. Disappointed they have not reinstituted the fabulous buffet breakfast they offered prior to Covid19. Could do more to accommodate handicapped person, i.e., raised toilet, safety bars on tub/showers. Still signs of aging around could be updated. Bathroom ceiling had some type of "temporary" cover on ceiling. Looked tacky. Bathroom could use better lighting over the mirror. Dated! Front office staff very friendly and accommodating. Maintenance staff very unfriendly. No "good morning" or "hi." No smiles.

Location is awesome, staff very accommodating and grounds are beautiful.

The facility and room needs care, paint especially and attention to cracks in the ceiling. Fan blades were dusty and disintegrating. Couch needs a good cleaning as stains were visible. We'll go back but for a room that cost $400.00 a night I would not have expected to see such lack of maintenance. Light bulbs out in the bathroom, fan/light didn't work till we were given a battery to install. Two screens were missing on window where there are seat benches, a real safety issue if kids stayed. I'm sure COVID plays a part but truly these issues need tending.

The beds were so comfy, the room was very spacious and homely, and the view was amazing.

Room #206 I am a housecleaner and I was shocked to see the room was not very clean for how highly rated the hotel was. We found a sticker in our bedding, base boards were very dirty, mirror and fire place glass clearly hadnt been cleaned because there was little toddler hand prints on the glass. The door frame by the handle on the slider had hand prints on it. The tracks to slider were dirty. Ceiling fan over bed was dirty as well. Bathroom was very clean though. I just wanted to point it out because I clean vacation rentals and we would have got hit hard with a review on this cleanliness. Also maybe leave at least 2 water bottles would be amazing for the coffee. We had to go to town just to buy water so instead bought coffee instead of making it at the hotel. Just my recommendations. 😁

Appreciated that the hotel was pet friendly Rooms were spacious and clean. Liked the second sink outside of the restroom. Liked the fireplace. Location was great, right on Moonstone Beach.

We were with another couple and both of us did not like the pillows so had a hard time sleeping because the pillows were so uncomfortable. We were with some elderly relatives and it was hard to navigate the stairs, there was no elevator.

The staff were great very nice. The room was very clean.

I don’t like that they did not have house keeping for the room everyday. I do know that it is due to Covid. The bathtubs water handle fell off the first time we used it. It was fixed after I informed the front desk though.

Everything! And the scenery is fabulous! Ocean view! Wow! Close to restaurants. Balcony!!! Mattress oh so comfortable!!! Staff is a 10++

Not a “Don’t like” — Looks like you got hit from all the coastal rain this winter/spring. My heart hurts for you.

Proximity to beach and views; Very clean beddings, room & bathroom; Empty refrigerator, so we could keep our own food in there; Sitting area and patio; Very responsive Manager, tried hard to accommodate us.

Expensive; somewhat oldish and worn furnishings; no breakfast included; no elevator, so we had to change room from upstairs to downstairs and couldn’t be reimbursed for cheaper room because we reserved through Booking.com.

location is excellent, limited staff interactions but very pleasant

the bathroom has to be updated, the shower fixtures is old and hard to manipulate. it’s understandable that the place is expensive w excellent location, the rooms has to be renovated( which we were told the some rooms are being renovated as we speak)
