This is a great place to stay! Very clean and comfortable. Staff was amazing, check in easy, room was a really good size. It had a little mini fridge/freezer that worked great (freezer froze our water bottles). Lots of clean towels, liquid hand soap (I hate using the bar soap). Fabulous smart TV that was easy to sign in to our Netflix acct and watch a movie at the end of the day. Beds were comfortable and they provided soap, shampo and condition in a dispenser. Even had a desk with 2 chairs, coffee pot and microwave. Quiet with plenty of parking. Easy walk to several different places to eat. The wifi connection was really fast and secure. I typically have to run off the hotspot on my phone at most hotels, this worked smoothly for the little bit of work I needed to do. Definitely will stay again when I am in that part of the state!

Shower was all new and an easy step in. The water pressure was not really hard but not a deal breaker at all!

The staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was really nice and it kept with the theme of the hotel which was retro hotrod decor. The bed and the pillows were super comfy. Lots of towels. They provide amenities in the room. There's coffee and Continental breakfast served. Hot tub was wonderful and the pool area is immaculate. Overall great experience.

The only thing I would suggest is stronger water pressure from the sink in the room. The weak water flow made it difficult to brush my teeth and wash my face. I ended up using the bathtub water flow for those two hygiene routines. I like strong warm water to wash my face at night from the sink to put steam on my washcloth to cleanse my face.

The hotel is exception - a total gem. The staff are so friendly, kind, and helpful. We arrived early and they helped us check-in early. The rooms are so clean and updated - and large. My girlfriend had to work and our room came with a desk. There is an indoor pool and a jacuzzi. The hotel is right next to restaurants and two mini-marts. It's a 5 minute drive to Hearst Castle and the beach is just across the street - a perfect location. We were shocked by how low the price was - we hope to return again!

The wi-fi was a bit spotty, but in that part of the state, that's going to be a reality. Really, we had no complaints!

I stayed at this hotel when it was still under old management. So I have something to compare with. The new owner did a great deal of renovations: removed old carpet and replaced it with new laminate floor, placed new beds/mattresses, pillows (that were great and super comfortable), put a cool style and color (retro style blue color) mini fridge and microwave into the room. I wish the bathrooms could be retrofitted further, but I also understand that it's an old property and would probably require changing the whole plumbing system.

There was no daily housekeeping (which, unfortunately, is becoming a new lower norm of service in the USA). Breakfast was mere stale muffins and junk from the store - did not care much for it, had my own food.

The Coast Riders Inn is a jewel of a motel. The room was clean, large and modern. The bed was comfortable. There was a fridge to keep drinks cool, along with the fact that a local convenience store is within a few minutes walking distance. The owners are amazing, and so friendly and helpful. We hired an electric car, and they even had an electric car charger. The drive to Hearst Castle takes around 5 minutes, and the motel is located just across from the ocean.

I loved everything about the Coast Riders Inn and would highly recommend staying there.

Despite our significant delay, they waited for us. Welcomingly welcomed. settled. Registration took less than a minute. The room is perfect. Large room with good repair. Air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, tea coffee in the room and of course WiFi and a large TV. Everything is well-groomed, clean and felt that was done with love. Thank you very much for the wonderful vacation you organized and excellent service. By the way, the hotel has a beautiful pool. And breakfast is included in the price of accommodation. Everything was great!

The attention to detail has to be seen to believed. The owners and staff work very hard to provide a 5 star service for 3 star cost. We stopped here as part of a multi stop trip throughout California and our only regret was we only stopped one night next time it will be a week !

Nothing to report but please beware this is the Pacific coast highway and on occasions is blocked by landslide (what happened to us) but coast riders kept us fully informed with helpful route from Monterey to miss the blockage so once again thank you

The whole experience of staying here from start to finish was exceptional. Buddy and Jane were the most welcoming hosts and couldn’t do enough to ensure our stay with them was perfect. we tried out the pool and Jacuzzi which was much needed after a long drive and it was lovely. Myself and my daughter have been travelling around and we both said that by far they had the best bed of our trip. I would recommend this motel to anyone and will look forward to staying with them again. Hayley Smallman

The staff was so nice and helpful. Easy check in. Very accommodating, we wanted to change to a king bed instead of the 2 queens because our children ended up staying home. We visit the area a few times a year, and normally we don't stay in the section due to low quality of rooms. When booking, the pictures were great, the reviews seemed great and the price was perfect. We are absolutely grateful we decided to stay. We will absolutely stay here again.

The staff was so friendly and helpful! We had heard great things about the renovation of this Inn and really wanted to try it out! This will be our new “go to” place for staying on the coast. I love how there is an option for checking in late and this was one more reason for picking Coast Riders Inn. Me and my husband love to travel hwy1 and sometimes we stop to see new things. It was nice to know we could take our time getting to the Inn with no time constraints. The beds are very comfy and the fridge and freezer was really useful for refreezing our travel drink cooler ice packs. The cookies and bottles of water were very thoughtful and so was the provided breakfast. You can tell that the owners are very proud of the work they have put in, to turn this Inn into a welcoming place for their guests. We can not wait to come back!

The floor just needed a more thorough mopping.
