Sea Breeze Inn - San Simeon

We like this hotel and have a long history staying there. The location is great and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Maria is wonderful and remembers us each time we stay.

This last stay we were disappointed with the recent renovation of the room. Although pleasing to look at and function was good of the items replaced, we go there to relax and unwind. Why do we need a desk in an ocean view room. They have removed our beloved table and chairs altogether. We had to bring our beach chairs up each evening and when we ate on the room or played cards or games we used our cooler so we could sit in front of the window and enjoy the view. Please bring the table and chairs back and room would be perfect once again.

The girl at the front desk was very nice and polite. The room itself was clean and had a great view of the Ocean. No AC but it was not necessary as there was a constant ocean breeze coming in through the windows. Very pleasant. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Had a micro and fridge as well. Also had a wild turkey roaming around the area which was amusing. The location was perfect for our stay as we roamed between Cambria and the Elephant seals lookout. Great Mex restaurant right down the street and a couple others further on down. Don't listen to the bad reviews. Unless you are pretentious and extremely picky, this place is just fine for an economy option. Some people expect the Ritz Carlton from some of these smaller places which is unrealistic. The cell signal is weak here so the Wifi is a must for most carriers except T Mobile for some reason. The Wifi is also not very fast so if streaming is on your agenda, you may find it a bit slow for that. Around 5-7 Mbs. Ice machine downstairs as well as vending machines for snacks and drinks. Overall, this place met our expectations and we would stay here again when in the area.

It's a preference but we would have liked to have seen tile floors not carpet. Maybe a little faster Internet/Wifi. That's about it. I mean if you want the Ritz, pay a lot more and stay at a 4-5 star place. If you want a nice clean economy option, this is your place.

Our room was amazing. Second floor, king size bed, very roomy and an ocean view. You can hear the ocean at night if you leave the windows open. Walking distance to the beach. Restaurants within walking distance. We really love it here. We frequent the area at least once a year if possible. The staff was very pleasant and informative. We will be returning next year.

If I have to say something I would say the shampoo and conditioner and soap in the bathroom. The shampoo and conditioner is a 2 in 1, maybe if they were separate that would be better. I do like the fact that it's all in a container attached to the wall.

Just an overnight trip, but getting the 'vitamin sea' I needed to get recentered, and calmed. Very comfy bed, newly remodeled, new carpet, quartz in the bathroom, great tile work. Very impressed with their redo. We got an upstairs King, which is an ocean view. We could see the sunset from our room. Slept like a stone with the sound of waves crashing all night.

Only critique I have is that the TV had closed captioning turned on, and we couldn't turn it off... so if that is the only thing that was annoying, I'll take it and return for sure. Loved it!

Check in was easy and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Location was close to the hiking trails that we were looking for. It was quiet and they were accommodating for our late check out.

The ocean view was very limited, as it could only be seen when standing right in front of the window, I could see the ocean, but the view wasn't worth the higher room charge. The refrigerator and freezer did not work, and the items we stored in it were not cool the next morning. We ended up throwing fruit away because it had gotten warm. The shampoo and body wash dispensers in the shower needed to be refilled.

Very nice stay just a short walk to the beaches. Older motel that has been nicely refurbished, clean and kept up. Windows facing the ocean were very large with plantation shutters taking advantage of the view, even having a white water peek. Staff a checkin in was very nice. The room had a microwave and frige. The only negative was that they added an $8 "service charge" before you actually book. The advertised rate should be THE RATE (except for taxes) and I will always make note and deduct a point for this practice and favor those that are not deceitful.

Great value for money and easily accessible for a stop-off in San Simeon whilst travelling the west coast. A good variety of restaurants are nearby (literally across the highway). Staff on the reception were really helpful and friendly and the queen beds were super comfortable. Added bonus of a pool (although the weather wasn't great when we were there so we didn't get to use it!)

The rooms weren't the most sound-proof so we could hear music from either next door or above, but it wasn't too bad and we still managed to sleep well.

This was our 2nd stay at the Sea Breeze. it is a small, quaint motel with a very nice, likable staff. Room was clean and comfortable with screened windows we could open for that marvelous fresh salty sea air.

I’m not a fan of the big bottles of lotion and soaps. The bottle that was labeled lotion by the sink was actually soap. when I used it I had suds all over my arms.

Staff was professional and friendly. Room and property very clean, great view of Pacific out our upper level bedroom window, short walk to Beach, short drive to many coastal access beaches and close to village of Cambria. The price was very reasonable and we would like to return soon!

Our next door neighbors were loud for an extended period of time

The beach was a short walk from the hotel and was awesome! Not a lot of people and easy to access. The room we had was downstairs and didn't have a great ocean view but we still liked the empty field with some ocean view. Not having a parking lot or building right outside of our window was nice. We were able to open the blinds and window for beachy sounds and smells! The location was right off the highway which was convenient.

The room was a bit dated and there were not many open places to eat close by. There were places across the highway to eat but I would not feel comfortable with walking. Driving would be an option but not if you drink alcohol. The restaurant that we did go to was very short staffed and the wait was horrible.
