Pacific Coast Roadhouse - SureStay Collection by Best Western

The rooms are spacious and very clean!! The hotel looks old but the rooms are updated and as nice as other hotels at double or triple the price. The location is not exactly beachfront (as listed on the site) but it is walkable to the beach. It is about a 5-7 min drive from Cambria. It's close to Hearst Castle and the Elephant seal viewing boardwalk. The breakfast is average: good bagels, English muffins, yogurt, and fruit. The eggs and bacon were not good. Overall, for the cost, it is excellent. Everything in Cambria is expensive so saving money on this hotel allowed us to do more on our vacation. Would stay again.

If you want to sit in your room (or on the balcony) and see the ocean, this hotel is not for you.

I enjoyed the amenities! The beds were comfortable, we appreciated them investing in upgrading the hotel! their gym was a nice touch to our travel it was clean and had the basics needed. The free breakfast was a blessing to have during our trip. They had tasty eggs, biscuits, gravey, toast, variety of jams, oatmeal with toppings, yogurt, fruit cups, muffins, coffee, and juice.

We hope they finish the paint details on the hotel since they’ve been remodeling it. We also noticed since it rains over there that better mats for the entrance of the hotel when coming into where all the rooms are located would help guest. We hope to see patio chairs outside of all the rooms especially the rooms on the lower levels. Being able to sit outside would be an nice relaxing touch.

We've been staying at this hotel for years many times when it was "Days Inn" and couple times since it was changed name and management. We like newly renovated rooms and arrival of hot breakfast and a good GYM, too. As before we chose it for the free Tesla charger.

Wi-Fi only worked first evening (Sunday) and was unusable rest of the stay (Mon-Wed). I was forced to use my phone as hot spot. There was no decaf, neither pods for cofemaker, nor ready made in the breakfast room. This was available during our prior stays in this hotel. So it's really odd to find decaf gone from the standard issue offering.

Rooms were nicely decorated, clean, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast came with the room and was good. There was a restaurant next door that is not part of the hotel that has very good food.

A few simple inexpensive fixes and I would have rated higher. Weeds behind office were an eyesore. There was a cable outlet in our room that was uncovered. There was a small amount of mold on the grout on the bath tub that a little regrouting would take care of. Attention to detail and this would have been rated a 9.

The Location and Price were terrific. The Gentleman at the Front desk was Amazing and really cares about the Hotel. However, the bad Details such as the Broken (rusted) Hand Rail to enter the building, Discolored/Moldly Shower Caulking and Unsecured Toilet Seats really take away from the Beautifully Remodeled Hardwood Floors. Extremely Comfortable Beds and Brand New Amazing TOUChSCREEN Bathroom Mirrors!

Great location, they are remodeling the hotel to be updated, large spacious rooms with tons of closet space and balcony you can sit out there. Bed and pillows and stuff was very comfy. Quiet hotel. Staff friendly. Discounts on meals at the restaurant next door. Coffee machine in room, microwave and fridge, free wifi. A lot to like...

I didn't like that there was no elevator and no offer on help to carry my stuff up. Also they were spray painting near the door and got some fumes on me a couple times. Also the light in the vanity sink area is so dim, I couldnt even see good enough to do my makeup there... I had to go over to the desk and open the window panes all the way in order to get some light. Please add some more lighting in the vanity!!! The free breakfast is super tiny, basically nothing, a 1/4 ham and cheese, with a yogurt and fruit cup. Have stayed at similar priced hotels before that offered eggs, waffles, toast, etc... was expecting that- a real breakfast.

Great staff - Tommy at the front desk was always really cheerful and very helpful. Brand new rooms with hard flooring. View of the water. Coffee in the room was not bitter at all - a lovely surprise as I forgot to bring my own coffee paraphernalia from home.

I'm a coffee and croissant guy but I didn't see any pastries at breakfast - nothing took my fancy at all except the coffee - no problem - Cambria, two miles down the road has a slew of bakeries. One of them had croissants which were remarkably good.

Location was walking distance to the beach and liquor store. There was also a restaurant on the property. Newly renovated hotel so our room was clean and spacious, beds were super comfortable! Check in was easy and fast and the staff we're so attentive and courteous! Would Definitely recommend this hotel

I didnt like that the outside patio didnt have a gate to either side of the patio so we have to share the patio with the rest of the neighbors so I didnt wanna leave any of our property outside cause I didnt know if it was gonna get stolen or not. I know the hotel is still renovating but I wished that the door to our hotel room had the cover on the bottom of the door. It had a 1 inch opening gap which i used a towel to cover the bottom just for safety purposes.

THE SERVICE, NEAR BY RESTAURANTS We were upgraded to a KING deluxe since our original room wasn't ready at the time of check in which it was awesome.

KEURIG COFFEE MACHINE IN THE ROOM NEED TO BE SANITIZE CLEAN or replace. IT WAS A HEALTH HAZARD. MOLDED INSIDE RESERVOIR AND AROUND THE RIM. WE COULDN'T EVEN USE KEURIG MACHINE. Attached is pictures we took. Place can be maintenance a little more to be worth the price. UNPROPER DOOR INSULATION & sealed. HAIR DRYER WAS PAINTED OVER, PAINT STILL WET. FIREPLACE COULD USE NEW SCREEN. LOCKS ON DOOR NEED TO BE CHANGED FROM THE CHEAP CHAIN.

The hotel is currently under going a transformation from the Days Inn chain to an independent hotel. So at the moment it is a bit of work in progress. BUT the service we received was amazing. We originally booked the Days Inn via Booking.com and were told they had changed their name to Pacific Coast Road house, but our booking was still in place. On arriving it was evident this was not the case and our booking had not gone across to Pacific Coast Road House! Despite not expecting us, they showed great hospitatily checked us into a room and honoured the original price arranged with Booking.com. The room we had was newly renovated, with a brand new and HUGE comfy bed. They have added luxury touches making the room more comfortable and the location is perfect for any road trip up and down the coast. On our 3 week road trip around the US, the service we received here was the best.

Just to be aware at the moment they are currently still renovating so it is work in progress in some places ie corridors/reception area, none of it is hazardous. But once this place is complete there are no negatives.
