In the heart of Idyllwild, the cabin was in a quiet but very central area in Idyllwild. The cabin was super cute and had two porch (front and back) to drink your coffee in the morning or have a drink at sunset. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. The kitchen was well supplied with coffee and appliances. The best part was all the carvings made by previous guests on the wooden wall.

The weather was really hot (heat wave) when I was there and in my cabin they were no AC. I managed by closing the curtains and by blasting the large fan in the room. At night it was perfect temperature. The wifi was not really working from my cabin.

We stayed in a theme room (the Fall room), and it was cute and rustic enough without being over the top and hokey. Thick plush carpet on the floor ( which has become a novelty in the hotel world). Fridge has a separate freezer which is nice, microwave and k-cup coffee maker worked just fine. Did not check out the fireplace, since the weather was nice. Bed was comfy, there were plenty of pillows, as well as enough bedding. Bathroom sink is separate from the toilet area, which can be very handy Grounds were great with plenty of wandering paths and areas to sit. There's a playground but it's a little outdated, which might be fine or not, depending on your stress level as a parent. We didn't have any kids with us so it didn't matter. It is right in the heart of downtown Idyllwild, while still being quiet and peaceful. The cabins looked like they would be fun to stay in as well, and I think they have up to a three bedroom. Made me wish I had the kind of family that arranged reunions; they have enough varieties of lodging, and enough space between most of them, to accommodate a nice family reunion. Be aware that Booking.com does not (cannot?) make it clear that only some of the Inn's lodgings are pet friendly; I don't know how their software could manage varying rules. No pets are allowed in the themed rooms, but they are allowed in the cabins, I believe. Just send the Inn a message or call them, if you plan to bring a pet. They were very responsive both by phone and by message through booking.com We had a fantastic time, and enjoyed ourselves immensely, and a big part of that was our relaxing lodgings at the Idyllwild Inn. Oh, and the chicken fried steak from nearby Mama's Egg House... yum!

Located in the San Jacinto mountain region, Idyllwild Inn was a million times better than an expensive hotel in Palm Springs. It was a peaceful retreat into the woods. The private cabins were clean and neat, with its own kitchenette which was really nice. Across the property was a grocery store that was convenient. Nearby hiking trails enticed the adventurer side in me, so about a couple miles north was the nature center. Thus, my stay felt complete.

The etched in graffiti on the walls of my cabin told me about Idyllwild's history, but it did retract from the beauty of the cabin. Although the sleep was cozy, the etchings in a dimly lit cabin made me uncomfortable. Also, I would appreciate it if the cabin provided kindling to go with the firewood. Straight up thick logs won't burn well with a single packet of fire starting goo. I did observe other people use pinecones from around the property, but I wanted to respect the rules of the inn.

Location and convenience.

The heater was horribly loud and the cabin we stayed in was attached too, which we hadn’t realized would be the case. So therefore, we could easily hear our neighbors, which was annoying and not relaxing at all. There was no television in the bedroom. The staff were friendly, as long as you didn’t drive through the entryway area onto the grounds by the front office - which is normally how one arrives at a hotel. Other than that, the stay here was nice enough.

Absolutely loved the location. The office staff was so nice. You could walk to everything. The facility was very woodsy and cute!!

The rug in the room really needs an upgrade!! There were several burn marks in front of the fireplace and the rug was dirty. Had to wear my sandles the whole time walking around in the room. The walls behind the bed could use a paint touch up but with that said because of the location we would stay again.

Fireplace and carpeting in the main room and bathtub (not shower) in the bathroom. So cozy and nice. Most hotels nowadays DO NOT have these amenities.

I was told that the carpet would likely be replaced with a tile or wood floor "to save on maintenance costs". If that happens I may reconsider staying here and look at other options. If it costs more to maintain just raise the price a bit rather than a race to the bottom like other hotels.

We got FALL room and it was super comfy and perfect size for two people. We especially loved fireplace in the room. Easy access to the village so that we did not have to drive when we need to go shopping.

Hot water shower did not work when we needed to use after snowy hike. (But the lady at the front desk told me that she can send me somebody to check out. She was so nice!) Bathtub stopper was broken so I had to step my foot when I was bathing.

Location is amazing, right next to the center of town, yet it is quiet at night. It is a rustic cabin with a lot of character and charm.

A couple of small tables, bedside and between the 2 soft chairs would be nice. The lighting in the kitchen isn't great at the sink and you have to turn the faucets almost 360 to turn on and off.

I was so surprised to find this adorable little cabin with a fireplace and comfortable bed. The location was excellent - right in the heart of town and all the shops. It exceeded my expectations and I look forward to returning again!

Just wish there was a small microwave to pop some popcorn and reheat my coffee. But it was not a problem and the kitchen had everything I needed.

We had a great weekend with this hotel! It was perfect! Wooden house with fireplace and everything we need inside! In the forest with Mountain View! The lady on the reception was very helpful and kind! We’re 100% satisfied with our choice and definitely would recommend this place to anyone who wants to come to Idyllwild!
