The view from our room was awesome. We enjoyed the sound of the waves crashing on the bluffs and watching the birds on the rock. The bed was so comfortable, room was very clean. Beautiful clean grounds along the top of the cliff with a fun beach down at the end of a path and nicely kept cement staircase. The sunset was spectacular, you had many choices to sit and watch it. The breakfast was all we needed. Our trip to California was to celebrate 35 years together and my 60th birthday. When we opened our room there was a sweet card and some chocolates.

The whole property and our room was extremely well kept, maintained, and most importantly, CLEAN! The location was more than ideal with picturesque views from almost anywhere. Free parking for guests ensured easy in-and out usage throughout our stay. They also provided reusable aluminum water bottles for us to use in the room, and have a hydration station available at all hours to refill was an added convenience I didn't realize we'd have! The property is very dog-friendly - a plus if you love dog watching on your balcony during sunset. Complimentary breakfast exceeded my expectations, with a keen eye for cleanliness with individually wrapped servings of bagels, pastries, drinks, cereals, yogurt, a coffee machine that brews fresh coffee, with all the accompaniments like cream cheese, cream, sugar, honey, syrup, etc. Hot items included breakfast sausage, eggs, and homestyle potatoes which were kept on warmers. There was always a staff member refilling, cleaning, tidying up the area so it stayed very comfortable no matter what time you came down to eat. Trash cans around the property were plentiful and convenient so you could take your breakfast out to admire the view if you'd like. Loved the semi-private beach cove access, gazebo, and plentiful benches and chairs lining the cliffside so you could enjoy the view. The soft blanket left inside your room for watching the sunset from the patio was also a cozy and thoughtful touch. The inn's location was quiet, yet we had quick access to Avila Beach, all the things in Pismo, Grover Beach, and even to Edna and SLO for wine and more eateries. Loved our cozy and homey stay here, honestly.

If I had to be nitpicky.... Road noise was easily heard throughout the night, as were any footsteps from other guests passing by or rolling their luggage outside. It was tolerable, though I wish the car noise could be buffered with some trees along the parking lot perimeter or something. Plantation shutters on the patio sliding doors added beautifully to the beach-cottage aesthetic, and were cleaner to operate than curtains, but I also wish they hadn't obstructed so much of the view from inside the room (even when they're tilted open or pulled off to the side).

We were very pleased with our stay at Inn at the Cove. Our 2nd floor beachfront room balcony was ideal for coffee and whale watching in the morning. Staff was always helpful and friendly. Loved using the secluded outdoor spaces with the gas fireplace to relax at night. We will definitely stay here again when we return.

The only minor issue: I asked for a room with no adjoining door, but our room connected to another room through an adjoining (locked, of course) door. We once had a weird experience in Chicago and ever since I always request a room with no adjoining room/door, but I Iearned most rooms here adjoin another room. No issues surfaced during our stay, but if you prefer a room without an adjoining door, just know you might not be able to get it here.

Awesome sea view from the room balcony, great to sit out at night look at the stars and listen to the waves crashing on the shore. Swimming pool and hot tub was a nice bonus, and free towels were included. Breakfast was nice too. Great location. short walk from Pismo (1/2 hour) or drive (5 min). Lovely resturants in walking distance. Try the Blast & Brew American eatery and tap house, 10 mins walk, nice tasty food, great selection of beers and sensibly priced. Penicans on the cliff were really cool to watch. Pismo was a really nice place visit, the surf shops were great!

I had requested a birthday message for my husband and Heather went above and beyond by creating the most artistic and adorable birthday card incorporating the special nickname we use for my husband. The room was the cleanest room I have ever stayed in, wine glasses were spotless, floor was immaculate, bedding was pristine. Total perfection. One of my favorite features was the fire pit and the oversized relation swings. Friendly staff and the property is very well taken care of. All our needs were fully anticipated and we didn’t have a care in the world. Perfect weekend getaway that I will recommend to anyone looking for perfection. Thank you so much to everyone.

Not a single thing comes to mind.

There were many nice elements to this property, including location, staff, cleanliness of room and comfortable beds/many pillows.

We believed from reservation through booking.com and pictures of website pages and description of room, we had “balcony oceanfront room”, but were told by hotel staff that reservations made through “third party booking sites like booking.com” do not guarantee balcony rooms! We paid over $400 a night for room with patio. During the evening of our second night, small children above our room were running around for over two hours. Not pleasant!

Great property - the hotel is clean and feels like it has been updated very recently. All the rooms can see the water. The pool area is small but well protected from wind and is very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful with amazing views and plenty of places to sit and enjoy and the cove access trail is very well maintained and easy to navigate.

I stayed in a room right over the pool area and I likely wouldn't do that again because it can be louder and housekeeping kept all their carts and supplies outside of my room.

Our view was excellent, we stayed in Room 502 and we are very particular about the "ocean view" description. It was beautiful, we had a private balcony and the weather was the best it has been in a long time for the area. We have stayed at this hotel before but this visit was amazing. We will be back to this area and we will be staying here again.

That we had to go home. Also, that we had to wait until the next day to ensure a late checkout. I requested a late check out when I booked our visit, but it wasn't until we physically arrived to check in to the hotel that I was told I had to wait until the morning of checking out to see if I could do so.

The View The View The View. We are Southern California natives and this is our go to place for first night on trips north. the staff is attentive, the rooms spotless, the balcony larger than usual and the blinds can be shut to keep the light out if you want to sleep in. Breakfast was a good selection and well stocked. Sycamore Springs Hot Tubs is just a few miles (minutes) away where you can rent your very private hot tub in the hills by the hour. highly recommend the Lagoon with two waterfalls.....worth the extra money. see photo (this is NOT on the property although the hotel has a wonderful pool and spa. Plenty of places to eat around the hotel and just a short drive into Pismo.

we have stayed here twice and both times room was not ready before check in time. not a biggie and certainly not a fault. note to self......don't turn your back on your breakfast if you choose to eat on the patio, the seagulls are quick and love scrambled eggs. see photo LOL

Hotels always promise a ocean view and mostly you can actually see the ocean … in the distance. But at this hotel you can really see the water closeby, we saw dolphins in the water from our balcony! Not only the view from our room / balcony was great, so was the room: spacious, modern decorated, very clean, great king bed, everything in the room that you need, even bathrobes and a throw. Housekeeping was very good, although the hotel has the policy that you have to ask for it - housekeeping is one of the reason why I like to stay in a hotel. Staff was very friendly and they fixed the flickering light in front of our door immediately when I reported it. The hotel has a nice swimming pool and hot tub, but weather was too cold to use it. But it looked great. The large garden was nice too, so were the swinging chairs. It was great too that we could park in front of our room. Complimentary breakfast was okay, but I missed orange juice.

There were two issues that were not perfect: first, the bathtub was outdated, nowadays a modern hotel bathroom has a walkin shower with shampoo and bodywash dispensers - good for limiting water and environment. Second, the position of the airconditioning was not good: low, blowing to the bed, I could better say, blowing you out of the bed.
