Close to the beach

A major problem to the otherwise perfect stay was what can only be called the “coffin beds”. The comfortable mattresses sit atop a high, 5”-thick wraparound frame that was difficult to climb over in getting either in or out. PROBLEM: our 8-year-old granddaughter banged into the protruding corner abutment of the coffin frame. At one point she has been sitting on the bed playing on her tablet when she accidentally slipped off backwards, banged her back on the wood-frame abutment, then fell painfully to the floor. Also, my short wife had to kind of roll up onto the mattress to navigate her body over the large frame. Recommendation to the owners: get rid of the coffin bed frames. You don’t want to have an injured or, worse, a paralyzed kid on your hands.

Excellent hotel and perfect location! Very friendly staff, easy check-in/out, excellent food at the pool - the Ahi Poke was scrumptious - great pool service, free bikes (I guess it's included in the $18 resort fee but that is cheap compared to other hotels. Fee also included beach chairs/umbrellas). The standard ocean view queen room was perfect to view the gorgeous sunset. Heated pool, while small, it served it's purpose. 3.5 mile boardwalk right outside the hotel, excellent restaurants in walking distance and great night-time beach vibe. If you show up before your check-in, they give you pool access to sit at tables with heat lamps or lounge by the pool. It was just the perfect hotel for a wonderful relaxing 5 days. It will be our go-to hotel when in Pacific Beach (San Diego).

My husband I am traveled many times to SD with our kids and for the first time I used a 2nd party site to book because I wanted to surprise them with something special...It wasn't what I booked and your staff not only accommodated us but went out of Her/their way to make sure my family was just as comfortable!! We loved not only your location and were able to walk for meals and fun but my little had the best time on the beach right in front of our room, my teens loved the pool and my husband and I SO enjoyed our room listening to the waves! We actually for the first time ever...didn't watch TV at any point. Thank you so much!!

The location to the beach, dinner, and downtown was excellent. The breakfasts were fantastic. The staff was out of this world, they were extremely helpful, friendly, and courteous.

The room was not very handicap accessibly. The beds were extremely hard to get into, even with the steps, We had to remove the steps so we wouldn't trip over the in the evening. A little step would have worked much better. The beds seemed like regular standard beds. We have a king size bed and these seemed to half that size. The room was designed for one king and a sofa bed. When I signed up I thought I was getting 2 king sized beds a sofa and chair. Without the sofa or chairs we had no place to sit and relax or play games.

We loved the spectacular view from our room and the impressive decor. The beds were incredibly comfortable, possibly with duck or goose feather pillows; I slept like a baby. The room was spacious, parking was accessible, and they offered numerous amenities like complimentary apples and happy hours. They have a pool and an accessible Jacuzzi, provide towels, and offer good security. You can also walk outside to see the Pacific Beach View during sunset. It was an incredible experience, and we plan to return.

The elevators could use some maintenance, but overall, it was a fantastic experience that we thoroughly enjoyed.

Location was perfect. Room was immaculately clean. Staff members were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make your stay perfect. Small boutique hotel that has gotten everything right. Very pleased that you need your room key to enter the pool area from both inside the hotel and from the boardwalk. Because the hotel is directly on the public boardwalk, we very much appreciated that level of security.

Not much storage for clothes in one of our rooms, the other room had plentiful storage.

The hotel location in San Deigo and on the beach made the visit exceptional and very enjoyable.
