San Diego Mission Bay Resort

The grounds were very well kept and parking was easy. The food at the restaurant was very good but the service was super slow.

Bathroom could have been cleaner. Long black hairs were all over the floor. Also the light switches for the bathroom kept shutting off every 5 minutes while I would try to shower, and there was no way to leave them on until I was ready to shut them off myself. Highly annoying. Also I was on the 2nd floor and everybody below had firepits that smoked me out. Even with the sliding door all the way shut and locked, smoke from those firepits still got in my room and made it hard to breathe at times.

The location is wonderful, beautiful view. Great area for walking or use the outdoor rentals available.The pool area is great for children as well as adults. The food at the restaurant was very good, and the outside sitting was outstanding.

I do not appreciate the recent popular pattern many restaurants are using of adding a 4%-5% for kitchen insurance coverage. I was very surprised that this hotel, which is rather expensive, would add additional charge of 5% for labor costs. If I am correct, I do not recall being a partner with this hotel, nor any other restaurant. As a business, you must consider all your costs, and not expect the customer to be involved with these extra charges, furthermore, this charge most likely, if paid, will affect the gratuity given to the server. I will not pay it, and I will not discount the 20% given to the server. Please stop this.

The hotel was beautiful. It was located on East Mission Bay, overlooking the water. The site was very clean. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. I enjoyed the ambiance at the bar and the live music. It was a great stay!

I was a little intimidated by the amount of houseless people in the area, as I am a woman alone who likes to run in the mornings. I have been told that the houseless issue is a huge challenge for the people of San Diego.

The location was great. It was beautiful, our room was great and lucky for us we had an incredible view of the fireworks on Friday and Saturday night from Sea World! Regarding the restaurant on the property...it was so wonderful that the host at the restaurant kind of "snuck" us in without having a reservation on a busy Friday night, providing we were able to complete our meal within the time he told us the table would be needed next. It was no problem, and it prevented us from having to order food to go (and having my husband's birthday dinner in our room.) ALSO, once I told the host it was his birthday, he communicated to our waiter that information, and he surprised us with a lovely dessert. Great communication with everyone involved for a surprisingly unexpected lovely evening! :)

I think it was a bit much to ask for a resort fee considering we were told at check in that there would be no housekeeping while we were there due to COVID. Considering that the $42/day parking fee was added, it seems excessive. Also, we ate at the restaurant which was great, but I noticed in the fine print on the bottom of the menu that the resort was adding on and additional 5% to our check to balance out the new minimum wage. I understand that it does cost more to pay people but I would rather just have the menu items cost a bit more to absorb that change rather than feeling like I'm being nickel and dime'd to death with extra fees.

We liked the location on the water and close to the attractions we were visiting. I also appreciated that there were housekeeping services more than once during my stay.

I felt the pool area was crowded and the food a bit expensive.

Our room was above our expectations by far! We were steps to the beach and each night a great fireworks display added to the ambience. Added bonus….rented jet skis right off the dock in front of the resort. I was definitely pleased and would come back to stay for sure.

There weren’t enough coffee pods in the room and when we asked room service it took a long time to get them sent up.

we really like this location and we love to stay in the waterfront rooms. the rooms are spacious and clean, beds are comfy. the staff is always friendly and accommodating. I love that there is a refrigerator in the room.

this time we came on a very busy weekend. too many people. the pools were overcrowded and couldn’t enjoy it. the phone system for room service was not working. it took multiple calls for someone at the front desk to answer. when we got to our room after checking in, it hadn’t been serviced yet.

The customer service was amazing and very helpful, the pool was beautiful and relaxing, the rooms were peaceful, I loves that you offer so many different activities at the hotel.

I didn’t like that my room was far from pool, I didn’t like that there was no elevator available, the outside floors were very dirty, the bedroom curtains and outside patio were dirty, the food from restaurant was not good and very expensive. In my opinion the nightly rate is too expensive for a hotel that is very old and outdated.

Smores night was fun, nice large hotel room, lawn games best room.

Pool was small for a resort, bathroom in hotel room was cramped, did not provide towels for family of 4 initially (shouldn't need to ask), only 1 tissue box tucked away in bathroom, no soap at kitchen sink, floor could be cleaner in room, long wait to check in, room not ready until after 6pm, no water stations near hotel room, beach was not one to lounge on (uncomfortable debris), no access back to hotel after smores on beach.
