Candlewood Suites Santa Maria, an IHG Hotel

The Hotel was very quiet. Nice amenities in the room. Ful fridge, Stove top and microwave. Very nice towels. They have a nice selection of DVDs. at the front desk. DVD players in the room. They do not have a restaurant or a bar. They do have a nice pantry with snack food for purchase. Even though our dog stayed home. It was nice to see they are pet friendly.

Location was a bit tricky to navigate the first time. There are a couple hotels tucked in the area. The bed did not seem like a Queen Size.

Cleanliness organized things at the hotel...

Would of like more plugins for the phones and computers on the outlets or the lamps so if someone forgot the wall charger adapter and you have just the cord you could just plug into the outlet..and No AC in the bedroom for those that like to sleep in the cold even though your at the coast where it's cool we still need the ac on...

The staff is awesome… the grounds were exceptionally well maintained, my room ( 1bedroom suite ) was flawlessly clean except for 1 small issue…. There was a wet spot on the carpet in front of the closet about 12-14 inches in diameter. The carpet is dark so it was invisible till I stepped on it wearing only socks. INSTANTLY grossed out. Didn’t really smell like pee buttt…… can’t say for sure. Anyways…. I laid some news paper over it & went about enjoying my trip to BEAUTIFUL Santa Maria ! I’ll mention it to management at check out not a deal breaker. But they might want to update the housekeeping staff on carpet inspecting practices. I could see other guests NOT being as laid back about it as I was. WILL I RETURN ? I’m on the fence . I’ve stayed in the past with NO issues so….

Now I’m not saying that every Hispanic man under 50 with tattoos and wearing khakis and white creased pro club Bandanna & Nike Cortez is a Gang member but…..anyway 2 gentlemen wearing said ensembles were shouting threatening obscenities at each other in the parking lot. I didnt want to see or be seen seeing anything so I shut my curtains and was thankful I wasn’t at street level…. A SECURITY GUARD could possibly reduce that issue .

The staff were very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. The kitchenette was sufficiently stocked. Refrigerator is near full size which makes if very easy to stay the week.

The side door at the end of the building, near the parking lot, says you can use your room card to re-enter, but the card reader was not working.

General manager was attentive and held the grumpy employee at the front desk accountable. Comfy bed.

Big dogs (literal dogs) went in ahead of us which turned off my wife. We like dogs and all but to think that some of them are sleeping on the beds and all they can do in a room is a bit unsettling. But the whole place smelled of cleaning products so the place seemed to be sanitized. Ribbed towels were clean but kind of scratchy.

Overall the stay was great. I will be staying there again for the next 2 weeks. Laundry facility is free and awesome, also nice little exercise room.

No discount if you're staying multiple days or more. Could use a multiple pattern shower head. Should also upgrade to Keurig coffee pots in room with pods available in the cupboard.

-The room was very spacious. -The view of the window was great spot to look at your vehicle to sleep well tonight. - The staff was friendly and helpful. -Based on the review I had my expectations low. But once me and my wife arrived the place was exceeding our expectations.

Plenty of well lit free parking, quiet building, fast elevator, clean big room, kitchen, popcorn, decent quality towels, comfortable bed for good night's sleep, hand sanitizer in hallways, free coffee in lobby, decent wifi

No breakfast. Loud A/C unit, no suitcase stand, cant check in early until 2pm, front desk staff not always wearing masks

The room setup totally exceeded my expectations. Having a kitchen and all the necessary tools to be able to make my own dinner rocked. You guys totally outdo yourselves. Upon arrival we were greeted by the front desk receptionist and she was very friendly. However, I understand that it gets a little tedious about repeating information about the your establishment and the services a client can expect but I was a little disappointed about not being informed if there was breakfast available for the guests here. I believe there was but I did not know the time. But all in all I will most definately be staying at your establishment again here locally an when travelling out of town. Keep up the good work.

Everything, staff is very friendly, there for you to satisfy all of your needs, questions & concerns. The facility is very clean & safe with security. We Love this location whenever we travel North this is our location where we rest.
