The Inn at Tomichi Village

Our room was comfortable and offered us lots of room. The free breakfast and parking were great. The Inn had a lovely seating area in front with large shade trees, fire pit, corn hole, and comfortable rocking chairs. Their location was right off the highway with easy access into town. It was also quiet.

My pillows were not comfortable. The towels were a worn out. We got an early start each morning and a few days we left before breakfast was served. We wished we hadn't missed out on this amenity.

With a child attending Western University, we spend a few nights a year in Gunnison hotels. This is our second time at Tomichi Village and we actually liked it better than last time. There is a great fire pit area with comfortable chairs, a nice yard area for being outside. The staff is nice and the hotel is clean. We were on the second floor for this stay and found the room to be much brighter than the first floor because of the windows on both sides of the room.

The rooms are a little dark. Also, it is not really walking distance to the main part of town so if you are going out for dinner, plan on driving back to the hotel.

This is a beautifully-maintained retro motel that is well-cared-for. The room had two comfortable beds, two excellent brown leather armchairs as well as TV, microwave, frig, coffee maker, etc. The ground have an extensive tree-shaded lawn with chairs, a fire pit, picnic tables, and even lawn games. We didn't have a chance to use them, but there are pool, hot tub, and exercise facilities.

Breakfast is adequate. The AC unit is quite noisy, but we were able to turn it off and open windows for ventilation.

The location is really good, you feel and hear the silence of the region. Jacuzzi is also a good add on and was a great refreshment after a long day. Room also comfortable and spacious, shower very hot, which is definitely a great thing to have considering the cold in the area. Good channel options with Direct TV. There is also a Fire Pit outdoors which is a great area to stay at night starring the stars or for an early morning to see the sunrise.

Breakfast needs some extra care, there are very good options in town where management could source local items from. The time we stayed, they only had some pre cooked options that you can find at 7-11 for example.

The room was large, clean, nicely decorated, very comfortable.The breakfast was outstanding! We had eggs, bacon, bagels, biscuits and gravy, waffles and a variety of muffins, both orange and apple juices, yogurt, coffee, and fresh pineapple and blueberries as well as hot and cold cereals. The breakfast was offered from 7:00 to 10:00 which made it convenient for all of the people.

Two things: 1)We had asked for a ground floor room at least twice, once at the time of booking, and again when we were about two days before arrival—directly with the property, but we had to take an upstairs room for a two consecutive night stays. I have great difficulty climbing stairs, so we booked early to request downstairs accommodation. 2) The charge port at the desk was connected to the wall switch as were the desk light and the floor lamp at the bedside. Consequently, whenever the switch was not on, my I-pad and cell phone were not charging. I noticed the problem the first morning when the I-pad had not charged from 48% to 100% overnight. At first, I thought I had not plugged the devices correctly, but the same thing happened the next morning.

This was our 2nd visit to the Inn, last time was during the height of COVID in 2020. While an ageing facility, the Inn has had recent upgrades and is well maintained. The beds are comfortable, there is great water pressure and nice showers, the towels are excellent, the rooms are large, and breakfast is quite good. We travel with a car club and enjoy gathering around the fire pit in the evening, sharing food, drink, and stories. The Inn provides an excellent atmosphere for groups and families.

We prefer the security of indoor access to rooms, which the Inn does not provide. Other that that, I don't have any complaints about the Inn.

On the day of arrival, I received a text welcoming me to the hotel. I responded and asked for an early check in. They replied and said fine. Price was very reasonable. The service people were friendly and tried to help in anyway they could.

There was no room with two queen beds that had an handicapped bathroom (which we needed for 3 people). They only have handicapped bathrooms for the King Bedded room. (However, they are not the only hotel on our trip with this lack of availability of handicapped bathrooms in Queen bedded rooms. They did offer me the most convenient room they had. The breakfast was basic continental style and could be improved.

This is a lovely hotel, convenient, well appointed, large rooms. The breakfast was exceptional with fresh scrambled eggs, waffles, fresh fruit, hot coffee and a large and delicious selection of food. My son loved the homemade sausage gravy and biscuits. The service of the manager, Letitia and young college student worker, Carl were just outstanding. They helped me change my reservation due to a last minute family illness. Carl was very kind and I just can't say enough positive things about him. He was really wonderful and went beyond his job responsibilities to assist me with the reservation change. Despite the hotel being totally booked, he took He took a great deal of time to explain to me how to change the reservation thru booking.com and he was smiling, friendly and always available. It was a wonderful experience at Tomichi and our family enjoyed our stay there very much. Many thanks!!

Our family's experience at this hotel was exceptionally positive. Letitia and Carl, despite the many guests and being short staffed, like every business, those two were totally efficient, helpful, smiling and pleasant to every guest. I was very impressed by these two young adults and the great job they did. You are fortunate to have them on your staff.

The grounds are very attractive, the motel being a few minutes outside of Gunnison, set quite far back from the highway, adjacent to a golf course. Our room was spacious and nicely designed and appointed. The concierge was very helpful in changing our date of arrival. We would definitely stay at Tomichi Village again!

There is no elevator, so carrying luggage up and down could be a problem for some folks.

We stayed here to rest between Colorado Springs and Telluride/Ouray but there’s plenty of things to do if you want to stay longer. This charming Inn has everything you can think of. Pool, huge outdoor area that’s great for kids or dogs, fireplace with rocking chairs to relax and plenty of parking. Our room was spacious enough for 4, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good too. The manager is extremely friendly and helpful and adds at least 1 star with his hospitality. Would definitely stay again!

Nothing I can think of in our case. I haven’t seen an elevator or ramp so if you need an accessible room make sure to indicate that at the time of booking (so they can put you in a room on the ground floor)
