La Quinta by Wyndham Stonington-Mystic Area

Courteous staff. Quick check in. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Water pressure in shower was great. The most impressive thing of all was the fact that I left my wallet in the room when I checked out. The hotel maid found it and turned it in to the front desk and I was contacted by the front desk immediately. Its nice to know there are honest people willing to do the right thing and I was very impressed and overwhelmed with gratitude. Unfortunately the cleaning staff left for the day by the time I got back to the hotel to retrieve my wallet so I didn't get the chance to personally thank the women who turned in my wallet. I hope to find out who it was by calling the hotel today.

Breakfast was a little disappointing. No fresh cut up fruits. No warm food other than waffles.

The room was really nice, and spotlessly clean. Great TV, all the channels functioned. Lots of lighting. Had the softest bath linens! Actually the whole bathroom was nice and the shower gave me life. Also the coffee downstairs in the little dining area was unnecessarily good! Like so good. On around the clock too.

The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The pillows too. I'm sorry to review anything bad bc I really enjoyed the hotel, but the beds were terrible. Also the breakfast ends at 9a on weekdays, with the number of families there it was just too crowded. Wish there were eggs.

The property was clean and well staffed. There was fresh coffee, tea, hot chocolate, l milk and juice available day and night. They also has a small store section set up with snacks, ice cream, and essentials you could purchase. The atmosphere was relaxed and homey. Continental breakfast with waffles were available in the morning. Staff kept it immaculate and well supplied. Location very convenient.

The things I didn’t like were not the properties fault, it was school vacation week. The waffle maker was tied up by one family for over a half hour. No one else could use it. I would suggest 2 waffle makers put out during high volume days. The other problem was the pool. Just a lot of people in it as there was a lot of people at the hotel. We booked this hotel because they had a pool but only used it one out of three days because of large amount of people in it.

After reading some negative reviews I was very happy not to have experienced anything that I was unhappy with at La Quinta. The property was 9 miles which was a 13 minute ride to Foxwoods. The property was very clean. The room was much larger than what I expected. There was an area in the room with a couch and a desk with a chair and a cushioned bench. The bathroom was very large. Everything was super clean. The pool and exercise room were open and they had a continental breakfast which included hot and cold stuff like waffles that you can make, a breakfast sandwich you could heat up in the microwave, boiled eggs, cereals, muffins, bagels & English muffins that you can toast, yogurts, fruits and juices. There were a lot of kids there for a cheerleading competition. The kids took over the exercise room on Sunday morning with no adult supervision. I think they should have a rule that no kids under 18 are allowed in the exercise room without an adult and if they do have that rule in affect they should enforce it. This was our first time at La Quinta and we would definitely go back.

Nothing negative to stay about the property.

The cleanliness and the free hot breakfast will always boost the rating of any hotel. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. I did like how they had available options for a late night snack to purchase right in the lobby.

The only reason why I didn't give this location a 5 star is because the size of the room was alittle smaller then expected. The distance between the bed and the TV/dresser was a bit narrow to walk through. Besides that everything else i gave the highest rating. It could've used more vending machines as well.

Clean clean clean. I was impressed with the big picture but also noticed the plastic cups were individually wrapped. There were alcohol wiped in the bathroom( I used them to clean my glasses but never seen it before). When I did see a maid in the hall she said good morning to me. Check in and out was fast. Parking was easy.

Staff was amazing! Housekeeping was very attentive. The breakfast attendant did a great job restocking food and cleaning after each table. Breakfast was more continental, waffles, microwave breakfast sandwiches, muffins, all fresh and delicious. Beds were comfy I personally felt the pillows were too "puffy" but my family loved them. We had 2 adults and 3 children 13, 8, & 6 in a two bedroom queen deluxe, I was hoping for a sofa but there wasnt one. There was a nice sized desk and a comfy chair. Roll away beds are available but wasn't necessary for us, although staff did offer it. The kids fit perfectly in the queen. TV wasn't a smart one so we streamed movies using phone to hdmi. They do have cable it was good lots of options. Water was hot and the pressure was good, towels were soft and great size! Complimentary shampoo and soaps were nice and smelled good... Microwave was clean and worked well, mini fridge also was clean clean kept everything cold, no freezer option though. Location was nice, about 20 mins from most attractions but not very busy. Neighborhood was quiet at night. The pool area was the cleanest we've seen, the walls and floors were impeccable! The pool room was very warm which may contribute to why the pool water feels so cold. The kids didn't care and really enjoyed it. There were plenty of towels and showers available in the pool area. The day we arrived they began asking guest and staff to start wearing masks again due to the covid increase. It wasn't an issue for us. Housekeeping was services rooms daily until the day before we checked out, again due to increase in covid. They were great though they asked what we needed, took our garbage and gave us fresh clean towels. We try to keep things clean and tiddy so that wasn't an issue for us. The washer and dryer worked very well I just wish they had more than one for the amount of rooms, or maybe one per floor.

Water in the pool was cold. The floors seem thin we could hear the guests in the room above us walking, walls were good though didn't hear anyone through them.

The location was centrally located to the casinos and Mystic. Breakfast was excellent and loved the fact I can go down anytime of the day or night for fresh coffee, juice, fruit and yogurt. Also the quiet hours are a bonus.

The pool could have been heated.

we forgot toothpaste and we’re hoping there would be some at the front desk but apparently nothing is available as a courtesy. they had a small sundry section and it wasn’t in stock either. it was after a long day and we were advised to go to stop and shop to get some. most hotels have products like this if something was forgotten.

Breakfast was ok. Needed more fresh fruit selections and enough low fat milk (as it ran out); also need to keep the room cooler. Was very hot and crowded and no one wearing masks except us (we therefore took food to our room).

The desk chair had no cushion left. It felt like I was sitting near to the floor. Replace it!!
