The best thing was the proprietor, who was so accommodating and fair-minded. We greatly appreciated his help when we needed it. In the basement of the Inn is a much loved "Fox's Lair" lounge and bar where they sing Irish tunes on Tuesday evenings. Augustans are the nicest people in the world. Southern hospitality is not a euphemism. It's real. The Inn is on older house located in an older district of Augusta . The rooms were spacious with many thoughtful amenities, like fridge and coffee maker. A fun bakery in a pink-painted house is across the street.

At first we were surprised at the house and location, but as we got to see more of Augusta, I appreciated the "Olde Towne" where we were. It was perfect for our needs. We had an event at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art literally two blocks away.

The location was great, within about a mile or so of most of the downtown area. The bar in the basement, the Fox's Lair, was absolutely incredible and felt like a well-kept secret. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, and it was great hanging out in the room and hearing the live music filter up through the floor (although it was definitely not loud enough to disturb you if you wanted to sleep instead). The guidebook that Chuck, the host, provided was probably the most comprehensive and enjoyable guidebook I've ever seen, with great restaurant reviews, info about local attractions, and was written with a great sense of humor by someone who clearly had spent a lot of time at all the places that were recommended. It also included some fascinating info about the property itself, its background, and its historical significance. The room itself was clean and well put together, and the decor felt like it went with the room. The TV was a smart TV with streaming capability, which is always a nice feature to have at the end of the night. The property feels very safe, with multiple keyed entrances to get to the room, so even if the bar is hopping you still feel secure. All in all, it was a great stay at a great property, and we absolutely will be back!

I really can't think of anything to put here, I can't stress enough how great of a stay this was.

There is no breakfast provided but there is a bar downstairs that was cool. The owners Chuck and Melinda were great. Melinda and her husband provided some great tips on local restaurants to check out. The room was beautiful, a little musty, like most older buildings but some air freshener would make it perfect. The bed was soft and comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. Definitely plan on returning.

Not an issue with the property but the shared parking lot behind the building. The parking lot maintenance began blowing the parking lot at 6:15 am which is not the fault of the property owners but someone should address it because if we had not had an early night the evening before we would have been in a rotten mood this morning.

The bar downstairs was great, good after coming back and live band attracted almost a full bar of people. It's close to a lot of the shops and restaurants. Very nice area with older architecture well maintained.

If you're trying to sleep early, the live music might be loud so just be aware there's a live band in the basement most nights.

The property is beautiful and Chuck is a great guy and a warm host. My bedroom was stylish and comfortable. Best of all, I happened to stay on an evening where they had six singer-songwriters performing downstairs in the Fox’s Lair (in the basement). It doesn’t go until late, so no worries about noise really.

Nothing negative to say.

My husband and I were looking for a place to getaway for our anniversary for the weekend. I loved that this didn’t have a hotel feel. The little bar with live music was the best part! We had a great time listening to music and just being able to walk upstairs when the show was over.

Location is very to James Brown Center where we attended an event. Close enough to walk. The Fox's Lair is a bar in the basement which was a fun place with local band. We met the owners who made us feel welcome and were very friendly. While there are no restaurants in walking distance there are plenty a short drive away on Broad St. The building is an old house and is a work in progress but very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely check to see if a room is available if wee are in Augusta in the future.

Location was great.... Loved the outside area

Refrigerator had been stocked with alcohol to buy....had to limit our use of refrigerator. BEWARE....rooms are above a bar... Saturday night...it was 1:30 am before it quieted down....we were warned so dealt with it fine!!!

- good location and convenient parking. Quiet residential area - Chuck, the owner, is very nice. Made me feel very welcomed. Happy to accomodate check-in time of my choosing, despite me being hours early. Chuck also made some restaurant suggestions that I thoroughly enjoyed. Chuck is well-traveled, interested in many things, a father of daughters- makes you feel very safe. The lady downstairs at the pub (co-owner?) is also very welcoming. - the rooms are authentically Southern, so is the building. It‘s a true experience - The Fox‘s Lair pub downstairs is fun. Cheap drinks, great music! Great for all (adult) ages. However, you can hear the pub upstairs from around 7PMish onwards (it was completely quiet at 10PM as Chuck had promised)! Just might have to consider if you have young children or are someone with an early bedtime - Very comfortable bed, quiet- good to sleep - Complementary water and snacks in the fridge - Good size room

The only thing I didn‘t enjoy was that my room had two doors, and one of them felt less secure to me. It made me a little nervous at night for a break-in, which I gather has never occurred. There is also a security camera. Also take note that the TV has only very restricted service, so bring a good book (the rooms have books if you forget). Good wifi though, so you could stream a movie. Smaller bathroom- one person at a time.

I really liked the location in relation to SRP Park (as this was the focus of the night). I also liked the house itself and the connected underground bar. It was just a neat property. I would also be amiss if I didn’t mention Chuck. He was wonderful. He checked with us to meet us when we got there to check us in, show us around, and help with suggestions. Top notch service! We’ll definitely come back if we’re in the area!

Not much to not like. If I had to nit-pick it was that the room might get a little small for an extended stay, but that’s reaching for something.
