Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Rome

Location, location, location!! Also loved the historical building and architecture. The river is beautiful and everything is within walking distance on Broad Street. The bar was great with a good selection of spirits, cocktails and beer. The breakfast was an amazing value with a tasty selection of eggs, biscuits, gravy, grits, cereals, fruit, yogurt, and waffles all for only $8 per person!!! The beds are super comfy too.

I liked being on the 3rd floor however the atrium was rather toasty in the late afternoon and the air conditioning in the room seemed to struggle bc we got a little stuffy at night. But understandable bc it is a very old building. We brought our tiny dog with us since the hotel is pet friendly but be aware that there is a $100 non-refundable pet fee! This is not advertised on the booking website, only that there will be a pet fee. I received the notice about the fee after I confirmed our booking. I have never experienced such a large non-refundable pet fee with other bookings and felt that was a bit expensive for one night!

We were actually treated like valued customers! When we pulled into the parking lot, I knew we would love our stay! Parking was easy, and the hotel was located in a very clean, and historic looking area. The decor throughout the hotel was beautiful. The beds were comfy, and the hotel restaurant had a calming, and pleasant atmosphere. My sister, and I were excited to see they even had 2 make-up cloths!!

It’s an old factory or wharehouse that was converted into a hotel. It has lots of character and charm. It has been tastefully finished and is in a great location downtown where there are many local restaurants and shops within walking distance. We had a river view room. The restaurant and bar was nice and the staff was great.

The age of the building and imperfections that appeal to us may not be what some people like if they are looking for a brand new and modern hotel.

The breakfast was excellent, well worth the extra cost. Enjoyed the bar area where we could sit in the adjacent area with our dogs in a stroller. The drinks were great, the bartender and servers were exceptional, and the food was outstanding! We loved the ambience of this downtown hotel. We would definitely stay here again. Joy, the receptionist, was welcoming, professional, and helpful.

The pet fee was too much, $100, for any pet.

there was some loud noise coming through the wall at random times. sounded like plane taking off. we thought it might be the air conditioner in the next room turning on or their toilet. also, when we arrived we were told the restaurant was open until 930. when we went down a bit before 9 we were told by the bartender that they closed at 7 because they had been slow all day.

Funky re-build of the old Battey Machinery company is cool. I like the vibe. Staff was friendly. My only complaint would be how loud the traffic noise was in room 273. But, I accept that converting an old brick factory building is problematic. I would stay there again, though!

love the location-park the car and able to walk to everything -bar on site was great-gym was awesome

the breakfast could be amped up a bit. it is not included which is fine and i dont mind paying for it but it was like a free breakfast at most hotels.

The location to downtown Rome was wonderful. We enjoyed walking into the city each day and evening. The hotel was beautiful and had a wonderful gym.

The amount of noise coming from the road running adjacent to our room was unbelievable. It was noisy all day and all through the night. I was shocked at how much traffic went by for a small town. The windows were singe pane and kept out very little of the street noise.

Our original room was a bit dingy and scruffy We could hear noise very clearly from above eg people walking around, running the taps etc

The converted warehouse had so much character. The restaurant in the hotel was exceptional. Service was outstanding.

We came in after dark so we actually missed the hotel and the only reason I saw it was the sign against the side of the building otherwise I wouldn't have imagined that the building was a hotel.
