Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel

the location was amazing I think it has the best location and view in Chicago in my opinion, and compare to other hotels I found the price to be fair. the whole hotel is so picturesque. i loved it.

Very comfortable in the Jr suite with room to move around. It had a king bed, a chair, a couch, a TV, a desk, a microwave, a mini fridge, a closet, a restroom, two windows, one window being really big. It was nice that it had a couch to watch TV or relax without having to use the bed or the only chair most rooms would have. It also had a small desk if you wanted to do any work or even use it for a table to eat in the room. The location was great and walking distance to many areas we wanted to visit. It was also right on the riverwalk, which was nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bellhops specifically were really helpful going above and beyond doing more than just handling our luggage.

The restroom was subpar for being in a suite. The tub spout was loose, the drain area had some small stains, and the faucet set instructions for hot and cold water was backward. The mini fridge didn't work and had a bad smell when you opened it.

The view of the river and city from our hotel room was incredible! Our 10 year daughter (who is a visual artist) didn’t want to leave the room because she wanted to draw from our hotel room window! We loved the location, vibe of the hotel, the staff were so warm and friendly, the hotel is clean with lovely art work and decor. I enjoyed sitting and enjoying espresso & a croissant in the lobby and a very quaint breakfast bar. We had such a wonderful 3 night stay at the Chicago Renaissance. Our 10 year old son asked why isn’t this hotel 5 stars?! Yes, this hotel should absolutely be rated 5 out of 5 stars.

It was a bit pricey but expected for the perfect Downtown Chicago location & view from our window. Also, the charge to use the hotel garage is like $76 which is way high but again expected in downtown Chicago. We booked early for a more reasonable rate and ditched the rental car at the airport.

Very convenient location to both The Loop and The Near North. Helpful reception staff, stunning lobby, very clean, comfortable beds, good room service. Be informed the hotel doesn't have a restaurant for breakfast but has a lobby bar lounge (open from morning to early evening, April 2022) and a rooftop bar (3rd floor level). Around the hotel there are several places to have a breakfast or to buy foods (7-Eleven 120 meters to the East, Target 500 meters to the South).

It was a thunder struck to me that the hotel charges for WiFi $15 daily. I stayed for 6 nights, it would cost $60 + tax! I stepped down to free WiFi lobby. A 4-star beautiful hotel is still to this day charging for everybody's necessity. This could be a kind of harassment to guests.

Levi at the front desk went over and beyond in being helpful. John the concierge was very knowledgeable of the things to do in the city. We took his advise on two great tours and two restaurants that he recommended. All were exceptional.

Only one chair in room with two people staying in it, and it was HUGE and heavy to move. It was in front of the window looking out at the view of the city and river walk. Needs two smaller chairs.

For the first time in 18 months my wife, daughter and granddaughter had the opportunity to visit Christmas Chicago stay. The hotel and staff got you in the spirit!

I loved the view out of our windows and the location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We also delicious food and cocktails in the lounge that were next level great

It was difficult to find the receptacle for cigarette butts outside so I didn’t have litter. A valet eventually pointed it out but that’s really my only complaint

We booked 5 rooms at the hotel for our large family to celebrate a birthday and an anniversary. I found out on the internet that the hotel restaurants were closed except the 3rd floor terrace bar, RAISED, which asked for a $1500 minimum, excluding tax and tip, to serve a “light” appetizer menu. Since they are a “standing” bar, that price did not include seating for all of us. We made reservations elsewhere. Our party included six kids, 11-18. We arrived and were greeted by an exceptionally nice employee, Miguel, who upgraded our rooms to a higher floor. The kids had been excited to swim. The pool was closed. We were happy to hear the restaurant was open, but only for weekend brunch, due to lack of staff. We ordered from Starbucks on the ground floor, and on Sunday had brunch at the restaurant. The employees worked hard to make us comfortable and couldn’t have been nicer. When my husband and I tried to have lunch by ourselves at RAISED, we were told it would be a long wait, since there was only one server. We went to the downstairs bar, and ordered off the room service menu. The food was good, and Miriam, our server, was excellent! In a nutshell, this hotel is very clean, nicely updated and in a great location by the Riverwalk. The staff is wonderful, warm, and hard-working. The bed was comfortable. However, it is very under-staffed. The pool is closed. The restaurant is closed most of the time and the terrace bar is impossible to get into and over priced. I gave it a pretty good revue due to the staff, who try hard to make up for the inferior website communication and management.

Our rooms were next to each other as requested and we had a great view of the river and city. The location of the hotel was excellent and the door man was helpful and friendly. I would totally recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Excellent location, downtown, with easy access to tourist attractions. It's very close to the river walk, which makes it perfect spot especially in the summer months, you can walk till late hours. Rooms are perfect, of course one side has better view than the other.

For the price I'd expect free wifi and breakfast included but.. that's Chicago.
