Residence Inn by Marriott Chicago Downtown/River North

The hotel location is great, there are plenty of yummy restaurants in the neighborhood only one block away (The Smith, Havana, Roka Akor which all serve great food and excellent mojitos …) and most attractions are within walking distance, very friendly reception staff, efficient elevators, huge laundry room. We didn’t use the gym room but it looks good too.

The quality of some of the breakfast items is the only thing I would criticize / the only flaw. Although breakfast is included in the room rate, I recommend they pick better doughnuts or better French toasts for instance. The breakfast selection is fairly wide but some of the items should be sourced from better quality suppliers.

Hotel location was ideal for our activities, within walking distance to the river and lake as well as the L train station. The housekeepers were excellent, they always made sure we had enough towels and coffee and were very nice and respectful. The included breakfast was really good every day we ate there.

I didn't realize I booked a disability room - we hated the bathroom/shower situation - the drains were not sloped enough so water pooled everywhere. It felt like we were in a gym. Also the pullout couch bed was very uncomfortable but I guess they always are.

We had an amazing stay in this incredibly well-located hotel in downtown Chicago. The room was huge. The couch and kitchen really made it feel comfortable as well--it turned into a real "home base" while we were out there. The hotel itself is surrounding by a ton of quality eateries and bars. We were in town for a conference and all the events and activities were within a short walking distance. There are so many more places we want to try out--we'll definitely be staying here next time we come to Chicago.

The hotel bar had limited hours and didn't really stand out too much. It would have been nice to have something with a little more personality in that area. But overall there were no real issues for us. We had a great time.

the greenway parking garage… I had an issue with not being able to pay the parking fee upon exiting and I tried to explain to the garage office attendant and she did not want to listen to anything I was going to say, immediately told me to stop and that she was doing me a favor to even help me. so after much time of her calling the front desk and who knows who else she came back out and proceeded to scan the ticket at another machine and IT WORKED! so I then proceeded to pay and she just left! without a comment at all! As if I had wasted her time when it was the issue of the system and her not wanting to listen to what I was trying to say.

The kitchenette is well equipped with utensils, 2 electric stove top, big microwave, big fridge and dish washing machine. Cooking is very convenient. The only thing I wish to have is a smoke vent. Greenway self park garage is connected to the hotel 2nd floor so it’s very convenient to park and carry baggage to check in. Breakfast has varieties and they switched some menus every day which is excellent. Room is well designed and spacious. Extra large king bed is very comfy. Laundry room on the 27th floor is convenient with 8-9 washing/dryer units and a coin exchange machine. Location is surrounded by restaurants and walking around and explore the heart of Chicago is very very easy.

The shower door seal is not tightly sealed. Water leaks into dry area no matter what is the only problem we have.

in the heart of everything!! we never had to Uber just walked everywhere. PRIME location. breakfast was great, always food stocked, the receptionists were extremely friendly, accommodating to all of our needs, they had umbrellas as it was raining, free water bottle which was so great and the room had a great view at the 24the floor! Gym is small but gets the job done and we used to the laundry room as well. I would stay here when I come back!! 10/10

it was really cold everywhere in the hotel hahah it felt like a freezer

location location was in the middle of downtown where a-lot of restaurants and shops near the river my room was a small nice flat with kitchenette ,the staff were very friendly and helpful. I like the coffee machine in the lobby all the time.

the hand washing basin was outside the bathroom very noisy in the night because we were couple and the breakfast no varieties

Excellent location, perfect for sightseeing on foot. Room was comfortable, if booking suite stay on Floor 21 or above as you get the views across the city. Staff - AMAZING. Incredible, always greeting with a friendly chat and beaming smile.

Breakfast could be better, not much choice, food options varied from day to day. However, dining area was clean, excellent sustainability, great idea with tea/coffee machine available 24hrs.

The place feels a bit dated. It was clean and comfortable, but the carpeys in the hallways need sytetched, and the carpets in the room were dated too. Also, the air conditioning was set to 68, which was too cold and it couldn't be adjusted. We finally just turned it off at night. Howevet, I would stay at this hotel again.

Breakfast is ok, I love waffles but none. My only complain was I stayed there for 50 minutes but none of the worker tried to wipe tables that was used and sanitized. I told the concierge at the lobby heading back to the room

Please train the people on breakfast room to not just watch the food area but also to clean and sanitized table that was used as some people bring small messy kids.
