Waldorf Astoria Chicago

Love the understated elegance of the Waldorf. The location is perfect and central to everything. Area is walkable with many restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel itself is “luxury” without being pretentious. I absolutely loved our room with a balcony and the staff was extremely accommodating and hospitable (a late checkout of 2pm is unheard of and so appreciated!).

My only complaint is that some of the bathroom fixtures are a bit dated/needing repair.

it’s a gorgeous hotel, I’ve stayed before. You are treated like royalty. The rooms are stunning.

This is my second time and this time I was a lot less impressed, unfortunately. Our room had one robe instead of 2, one phone didn’t work out of 2, we called room service for breakfast and 2 or 3 things we tried ordering they were completely out of. Disappointing. We settled for other breakfast items and 45+ minutes later they arrived with just one of them. We had to wait another 10-15 minutes for the second meal while mine became cold. It just didn’t feel worth the price of a $900 room and $75 breakfast for 2 people. :(

Someone steady entering our room every hour. Kind of creepy. If I don't ask for service don't come to my door please. Get that building power washed please. The spiders are ridiculous. Spa should stay open til 9pm during the week and weekend.

The staff was exceptional (efficient, courteous, professional, but quite warm) in their attention to every need: from the people who greeted our cab as we arrived (past midnight) and the wonderful ones who were always ready to assist with cabs and with umbrellas, to the lovely front desk folks, to the room service, to the staff at The Brasserie (David was our waiter and was a joy).The food was delicious in both the late dining and in the restaurant. The facilities were superb. I have been going to Chicago for many, many years and I have stayed in tons of hotels and in my book at this time, Waldorf Astoria is the best bar none! Oh and I just love the beautiful scent that greets guests as we enter the lobby! I enjoyed every second of my stay and will DEFINITELY come back.

Amazing service, the staff are exceptional at solving problems and helping out. My rental car developed a flat tire and the valets filled it with air so I could get on my way, all without asking!

A bit pricey but this is what this kind of service and hotel costs...

beautiful room and great public areas. loved Bernard’s! all staff very pleasant and helpful.

private reception one night meant all public areas were closed to residents. could have offered a complimentary cocktail to the room or another night to compensate.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. I loved the treadmill with the scenery images being displayed on screen during my workout in the fitness center. i enjoyed being in walking distance to bars, restaurants and stores. Although I expected a better view of the city, i did enjoy standing on the balcony.

I wasn't made aware ahead of time that the in-room fireplace wouldn't be available to use during our stay. Our reservation in the hotel's computer didn't reflect a free-breakfast being included with our stay, as stated in my confirmation email, so we were only given a $40 credit towards our breakfast. I expected a better view of the city from our window/balcony. Our emailed receipt shows $878 being our total amount charged. However, the text message alert I received for the card I used stated I was charged $939.

The staff was amazing and helped my wife and i out A lot.

I didn’t like how booking.com didn’t give the Waldorf our reservation. There was a lot of miscommunication between booking.com and the Waldorf. Luckily the Waldorf honored what we had reserved (even though they didn’t receive it).

If you love to be pampered and treated like royalty, then staying at The Waldorf is just the ticket. Beautiful rooms, decor and the service personnel are the most gracious in Illinois. Don’t stay anywhere else. Splurge on this hotel and have a continuous grin on your vacation.
