Sonesta Simply Suites Chicago Libertyville

1) All staff were exceptional! Everyone knew our names, greeted us with smiles, attentive to immediate needs, and made us feel like friends. 2) Room was well-appointed and had all conveniences of a studio apartment. 3) Laundry facility was complimentary and plentiful with machines. 4) Gym area was state of the art and better than many 4-star hotels we've stayed at. 5) Value was exceptional for a 12 night stay.

1) Although parking had a small fee, that was immediately waived without argument. 2) Bed was uncomfortable, even with an extra comforter and blanket placed under the fitted sheet. 3) Wife developed a skin rash on her lower left leg after the room was serviced 7 days in. Desk staff was attentive and noted that it may be attributed to their detergent used. 4) If a hotel desk employee is going to take a smoke break, please don't do so at the front entrance. That looked unprofessional. 5) Reported smell of weed on at least 3 occasions. Fortunately, staff was immediate to address the area impacted.

The room is awesome even for a shorter stay. Each room is large and has a recliner. The exercise room is much better than those in other places that I've stayed. Lots of room outside if you like to take walks.

The facility does not have an ice machine. There is an ice maker in the fridge in each room, but in my two stays the ice makers are slow. The location is fine except for the fact the fact that you will have to drive a half-mile to a gas station to get items that are not in the small, on-site store.

This hotel is clean with friendly staff & although we do not have any they welcome pets! ❤️ The room was excellent Clean kitchen clean floors Crisp linnen newer comfortable bed Several channels available plenty of cabinetry -closet.space drawers and the shower water pressure was perfect The 1 bedroom suite with pull out sofa bed was perfect for my son and I I would definitely recommend this location for any and all stays.

I like the room, it was spacious and comfortable. I was very happy that there was free laundry. I appreciated the gym in the building, although the door was always broken (they fixed it near the end of my stay). I was very happy with the kitchen suite in the room, it was just what I needed (dishwasher, fridge that worked, counter space). Love the free coffee.

The gym was pretty sparse, and the door was always broken, however they did end up fixing this towards the end of my stay.

I like it all the services, satisfied enough. Easy to cook, doing laundry, GYM and easy to acess everything with all they have.And plus, very convenient distance to travel to my college.

Staff was wonderful! We booked this hotel for my father the same day he was going to stay because he was at a funeral and it was too late for him to drive back home. The staff was very helpful since he didn't have anything for an overnight stay and they were very welcoming.

Not necessarily super close (not within walking distance) to food options, but that's not the reason we used this location. It was the location and price.

The store and laundry room were amazing---we loved being able to get legit snacks (not vending machine fodder) 24/7, and do laundry for free. The picnic area and grills were awesome---we were outside with a bottle of wine, smoking & joking with some of the long term guests, so much fun. The people who stay here long term for work or whatever are the nicest folks. Also the front desk staff was so friendly--props to Melissa at check-in, and the young woman who worked overnight We will definitely be back

The entire property was very clean. My room was amply equipped with everything needed to sustain oneself without the need to rely on takeout or restaurant meals. I thought the nicest touch was the leather recliner.

Property is located across the street from railroad tracks. Freight trains passing by in the middle of the night disrupted my sleep the first night although nothing like the scene from the movie My Cousin Vinny.

We liked the way the room was set up. It had more than we needed for our one night stay, but definitely had everything. It was clean and comfortable.

The soundproofing in the building could have been better. There were people in the hallway that were loud around 3 AM or so. We heard them loud and clear and it woke us up. That was the only drawback.

The convenience of the location and the price for my stay was originally the reason I chose Sonesta. When I first got there and looked at the room, I was so incredibly pleased with what I saw! The room had everything I needed or wanted! The kitchen had a full size refrigerator, a stove (electric), a microwave, coffee pot, toaster, dishwasher, pots, dishes, utensils, glasses AND even a garbage disposal! It was perfectly suited for cooking a nice meal for yourself. Not only did they have all these items available in the kitchen, but, they also had additional items downstairs to use if you asked (for example a crock pot). There was a very comfy bed with 2 large pillows, a large desk/work area and a nicely equipped bathroom complete with full size shampoo, conditioner and body wash available in the shower. Along with all the room offered, there were also laundry facilities which were available free of charge to the guests! Last but certainly not least, I would be amiss if I didn't mention how incredibly kind and helpful all the staff were during my stay. The three gals that stood out the most for me (sadly, I didn't get their names) was the one that originally checked me in, the gal that was there in the evening on my first and second night who was patient and gracious as I visited the front desk several times for assistance and to scout out a corkscrew for wine (it had been a very long day!), and the lady who checked me out when sadly, it was time to leave. Sonesta was a port in the storm during a difficult visit to the area and for that I am grateful! A sincere thank you to all the wonderful staff!

For me, there honestly was nothing I didn't like.
