Microtel Inn and Suites Elkhart

The spaciousness of the room...the bar space in the room. Even though booking.com had mixed up the pictures for the rooms...management switched our room to the one that was pictured... Liked having the couch in the room. The lighting was great in the room. And the fact that some of the lights went off automatically after awhile was a cool feature.

That some of the table spaces were very dusty as if they hadn't been cleaned in a while. I cleaned them myself. The bed tables were two shelves..one under the other. The bottom shelf looked neglected. The other table tops were clean. No coffee 24 hours. And that the room faced another hotel that was very close. Also for two people the bed only had 3 pillows...one more pillow would have been nice.

I loved the fact that the window opened for fresh air. Coffee was always available. The staff was friendly.

The room was only cleaned thoroughly once in my 18 day stay, although I got fresh towels, soap etc daily. Not a big item for me. I don't generate much of a mess. The breakfast was skimpy. There were meat items (microwavable sandwiches in plastic) on only a couple of days out of the 18 that I was there. The other days the protein was cold hard boiled eggs, yogurt and cream cheese. They did have afternoon cookies on a couple of days also.. Apparently the "hot" breakfast advertised was the self use waffle machine. The guest laundry was out of service the whole time that I was there. There is a laundromat in the area.

Everything, when I go to this location I can never ever have a bad experience, they go above and beyond with the staff they higher, to the breakfast that they provide each and every morning. This is forever a top place to stay for me!

There's a night time person to early morning I do believe his name was Joe. He was so very rude and lazy. I went to get my breakfast and barely anything was set out properly, the coffee was weak and I would try to ask him a simple question and he would be very rude and condescending making me feel stupid and then two younger guest was trying to make waffles and they kept sticking so they used a little butter. He came over and started yelling at them about how they were ruining the equipment and these two young ladies apologized to him and he kept yelling and belittling them. Something I never want to see again

I liked how spacious and modern our room was. It was pretty clean. Easy to get to. Breakfast of waffles and bagels and granola bars and muffins. Juice bar. Stocked us on towels and grabbed the dirty ones. Changed garbage. Didn't make beds though. The entire building smelled clean and not like stale cig or weed which was nice.

The one bed had a lot of longer black hairs all over it so that blanket ended up on the floor. The toilet seat had a cig burn mark on it. Freaked us out at first as we thought it was crusty feces. Beds were SUPER hard and pillows were super soft.

Floorplan was good.. Other than a huge stain on the carpet; the room was very clean. Appreciated having tables on both sides of the bed. Staff was friendly and responsive.

Carpet in bedroom stained. Furniture in common area was torn and aged. Breakfast wasn't watched or replenished. Desk clerk had to be asked for many items. She replenished them when asked. Personal amenities in the room was just a bar of soap. TV wasn't working. Desk clerk came up immediately to try to fix. He could not fix it so no TV the last night.

Our room was not made up when we checked in at 10:30 pm and went to it. However the front desk woman was very nice and gave us an upgraded room. That took care of any problems we may have had with the experience. Nice job!

It was clean, staff was friendly.

Breakfast could have a few more choices. Beds are very tall for short people. It’s great that there is a laundry room to use. But hours need to be lengthen or stated that there are particular hours for use of it. We were there for a baseball tournament and could not use the machines because it was to late after the game.

Hotel was clean and well maintained. Great value for the price paid (every other hotel within 50 miles either direction priced 30%+ higher). Needed to check in at 3am, hotel accommodated without any issues. Breakfast was standard fair: waffles, bagels, yogurt, cereal. 2-3 minute drive from I-80.

Great for the price; nothing negative about our stay.

The breakfast items weren't extensive but they were decent basics. Waffles, bagels, cereal and juices. Hotel itself was very easy to get to.

Noticed that the kids bed under the window was a little threadbare. The only other issue was that there is sheet metal on the sides of the bed base. They keep stuff from getting under the bed but are quite noisy with almost any movement on or off the bed.

The location is good for us to stop for the night between Buffalo and Chicago in route to visit our daughter. We prefer staying in areas that are not congested. It takes us about 7 hours to reach Elkhart from Buffalo, and then it only leaves us about 2 hours to Chicago the next day. Elkhart is a nice rural town with many restaurants and attractions.

I know it's not your fault, but I miss the full breakfasts that used to be available prior to the pandemic.
