Comfort Inn & Suites Event Center

Very nice accommodations. Our room was very clean and comfortable. It was located within a few minutes of the event that we attended. The breakfast area was clean and well stocked.

Location & price compared to other options, so could walk to downtown food & events. Was clean enough & comfortable bed. Has the basics you need. Breakfast was decent.

Many things are aging & worn, but they're keeping them clean as possible. Lights have to be turned off & on at each light. Was a fire alarm, apparently due to a real electrical issue/fire. After we evacuated, was no info, just an employee still working at the desk who claimed to have taken care of it already when asked. Was a bit disconcerting to hear there was a fire, but no fire department and had to ask to find out what was going on after an alarm & guess if was okay to go back in or not

No instructions for equipment in gym. Low food quality at breakfast (butter substitute, no whole grain bread option) Styrofoam plates, plastic cutlery need to be replaced with compostable options if not reusable. Single serving creamer replaced with milk/cream in quarts. Just need an eye towards materials conservation and minimizing landfill contributions. location was perfect for access to the State fair. B'fast was good with lots of choices. Personally, I think, since everyone wants waffles, there should be a batch made up and kept warm like the other warm entrees. Otherwise you have to wait forever to get a waffle made as they are popular.

When I asked about gluten free breakfast, the ladies at the front desk were super ignorant. They told me „we don’t know and the breakfast lady is not here today so we recommend you don’t eat anything“. It’s very frustrating to have to pay for a service you are not getting. Especially when the people who are supposed to help you are so ignorant and will not provide assistance.

Staff was unfriendly.

Close and easy access to the state fair grounds. Staff called and informed us of water main leak and gave us options for stay, able to comp room for that night due to the inconvenience. The staff had bottled water available for guests if needed.

Hard to tell the hotel had a pool and where it was due to limited signs or information posted. Didn't realize we had to ask for room to be cleaned, garbage emptied. Would have been nice to have been reminded of that upon check-in.

location was great, right off the interstate so it was easy to get to and find. it was right on the river so it had a great view.

could not figure out how to work the jets in the whirlpool. was roomed in one of those conjoined rooms where a door connects to another room but if you’re not a family together it locks. well, there was no sound barrier between that door so you could hear everything between each room.

Breakfast was great. Area to sit and eat was wonderful. Staff was excellent and very accommodating.

Rooms were a little outdated. Tub was slippery. We had no blow dryer so had to get one from maid service. Pool needed painted and felt slippery on the steps and bottom like it had algea.

The location was convenient to my conference. The bed was very comfy.

The breakfast was very conventional food, with a lot of disposable plastic plates and cutlery. I am in sustainability, so this is something that needs to change, in my opinion.

Location provided easy access to I 235 and the access to the park was just across the street. It's about a 15 to 20 min walking distance to downtown where all the restaurants are. Parking was plentiful. Room was clean and very spacious. There's frequent maid service to freshen the room when you are away. Overall, the hotel was a pretty good value considering it right next to the Wells Fargo Event Center.

Everything was great but for the breakfast. It's the usual scrambled eggs and a meat protein. Nothing really fancy. But overall, it got me through the mornimg.
