The room had a curtain you can pull out to add privacy between the bed and sofa which was also a pull out bed. Instead of paper cups there was glasses and regular dishes, there was a microwave and large refrigerator. Very eco friendly! It allows pets , good selection for breakfast. We were there for the Iowa State Fair and got back late, the only problem is small parking lot, and if they don't have any spots available to park, you have to park in the street which is hard because homeowners don't have driveway so they park in street. We did get lucky and managed to find a spot in the lot when we came back from the fair. Staff was friendly, rooms good size.

It was clean and comfortable. it was nice to have a full kitchen and plenty of space. The curtain between beds and couch is a nice touch. Breakfast was good and staff was friendly and helpful. The pool uses salt rather than chemicals. Pool was slightly cold but not too bad. The area was great. We were able to walk to dinner, and it was a short drive to downtown.

Having more than one high chair in the breakfast area would be helpful.

I liked everything about it. I would’ve been thrilled if there was an enclosed area for the dogs to potty. I must say it was one of the cleanest hotels that allow dogs, thank you so very much. The staff was genuinely so very nice. I was driving from Wisconsin all the way to Arizona with three dogs I inherited after a friend passed away. It was nice to have the comfort of genuinely nice help at your hotel. The bed was so very comfortable, which I really needed by the time we arrived.

I’m more defined potty area for the dogs. Perhaps an enclosed area would be nice as well.

EVERYTHING! Love staying here! Daughter goes to Drake! Super duper close! Love the breakfast every morning! Friendly staff! So clean & we got to look out on 5th floor at Old Main/Drake Campus!

Drake parents say there is a discount. We’ve stayed numerous times & asked front desk & have never figured out how to get Drake Discount or if it even exists. ALSO—not 1 spot left in parking lot so we have to drive around a bit & street park a ways away! Never experienced that before!

Liked having a full-sized fridge and a functional kitchen with plates, silverware, etc. Liked the arrangement in the room, especially a good "parking place" for our suitcases once we'd unpacked underneath the long counter. The towels were wonderful, smelled clean but not perfume-y, and were thick and very absorbent. Shower had plenty of hot water. Really enjoyed the large lobby and the furnishings. Very nice. Room-darkening blinds really do darken the room! All the staff were helpful, friendly, pleasant and polite. We needed a frying pan and hot plate during our stay and Michael was able to have both sent to our room! Parking off street was included, easily accessed and not cramped. Our stay here enhanced our first visit to Des Moines. We enjoyed ourselves very much!

Our room had the tiniest bathroom. The sink faucet was installed in such a way that it was almost impossible to get one's hands under the water stream. (The whole faucet just needs to be moved forward.) The shower had no shelf for my shampoo, etc. and it was so VERY small. (Impossible for a lady to shave her legs! Needs a small shower seat/bench badly.) We had a room on University, and the street noise was occasionally loud and disturbing.

Staff was excellent! Check-in was accomplished quickly and she was very accommodating - offering me an opportunity to review the room before final selection because I had accommodation needs for my mother. The suite was well-appointed and having the extra pull out bed was a definite plus-plus! The location was secure, well lit and functional. Thank you for a pleasant and comfortable stay.

The parking lot could have been easier to locate.

The room was clean and so comfortable and spacious! The staff were so responsive and helpful when my spouse had an allergic reaction and we had to leave.

Pets are allowed in all rooms (we stayed with our cat). My spouse is severely allergic to dogs and he had an asthma attack even though the room had been cleaned. Unfortunately he couldn’t get it under control and we had to leave an hour after we arrived. But the staff were exceptionally supportive and comped our room.

Location was wonderful for attending orientation at Drake University. We could walk to all the events on campus plus there was a good selection of restaurants within walking distance. I like that there is a pool and fitness center even though we did not use them on this trip.

The price -- it was pretty expensive for a one night stay.

Everything from management to staff to the corner by the toilet stall was exceptional. I’ve paid twice as much for a room of lesser value. Best experience I’ve ever had with a motel and will stay here every time I come this way on I-80.

Every aspect of this motel was exceptional. Nothing could be consider less than exceptional

The room had everythint you could need, including a second set of pillow and blankets, silverware, dishes, a completely functioning kitchen, a comfy couch, everything! Outlets and USB ports everywhere, blowdryer, shampoo etc, everything was there. Breakfast was good (real dishes instead of plastic stuff!)
