Sleep Inn & Suites Middlesboro

The room was AMAZING!! Everything was spotless and the décor was so current and peaceful. It was a really quiet environment and conveniently located near a lot of restaurant choices and a quick drive to the Cumberland Gap Visitor Center.

We were really disappointed with the breakfast. The waffle maker left the waffles completely raw in the center, and the person who normally prepared the hot parts of the breakfast was out sick. I totally understand that, but if you advertise "hot breakfast" something should be hot.

Location

On booking.com stated check in was from 12a to 12p. When we got there, they stated we were not able to check in until after 130p as they had a full house the day before. That should of been stated on the booking website "if available " as we just drove 14 hours and expected to go sleep. Instead, we had to find another place to go for 3 and a half hours.

The staff was courteous. Also the breakfast was amazing. The bed and bedding was comfy.

The pet area outside needed mowed. The grass was a little high for my little dog. Also I would have preferred the option of a room cleaning more often than every three days however it didn't bother us at all.

It was incredibly clean and the staff was professional and friendly. The beds were ultra comfortable, and the room spacious and perfect for work and relaxation. In a quiet area. Very happy that I chose this hotel. I will certainly stay here again when I come back. It was close to all the attractions at Cumberland Gap, but out of the way of the crowds.

Not a thing.

I usually stay at the holiday inn express when traveling through the area but I decided to try something different and sleep in was a damn good choice. It was a late check in but to my surprise the staff were up beat and chipper for a 3rd shift crew. It was pleasant to experience that I typically don't encounter with late check in.

The mattress was not comfortable, needed to be replaced. Also no USB connections were in room to charge cell phones. One more thing, the free toiletries did not have a pleasant fragrance, but they may be pleasant to some people but not to my husband or me.

Breakfast was nice and standard-scrambled eggs with sausages. Location is really great as it’s close to Cumberland Gap visitor center, near the major restaurants and Walmart and right off the major road.

Nothing really to dislike.

It was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. The only complaint is there was only one USB port in one lamp and it didn’t work to charge our cell phones.

Lack of technology. The room was not equipped for the modern need to charge electronic devices.

The breakfast was good

The fact that we booked a suite and when we went to our room, there was no tv. Had to move from our suite to a double with smaller bathroom. I would have thought a tv was an obvious thing to have in the room but I guess not.

It was very clean, located near major stores but yet secluded on top of the hill. The bathroom is well stocked with towels. I liked the price that I was able to find online. I don't think it would be worth more than I paid, or at least not by much. They're site wanted $85/night and an additional $85 in fees for two nights. IMO, its very clean and that is most important, but if they advertise $85 a night it should be close to that...not $265 after their fees and state taxes. I was able to find a site that had the room for $85 a night and 10% in fees, I was out the door under $200 for 2 nights...very much worth it at that price.

The walls are a little thin, I could hear the neighbor's TV on much of the night. Between that and the A/C kicking on and off every 1-3 minutes (yes, that often), I had to purchase earplugs at the nearby Walmart the next morning. The ear plugs worked good and the second night was much more restful.
