Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mt Sterling North, an IHG Hotel

The shower water was nice and hot! The beds were comfortable.

The shower had not been cleaned in the first room. There were hairs (more then 2 or 3) on the floor of the shower. We were given another room and there was a similar issue only this time the bed had a stain on it and there was mildew in the shower and hairs. Then switched to the next room and it was minimal. So I just cleaned the hairs that were left in the shower and moved on. By the time we had been moved it was 1 am. I was too tired to go back downstairs to talk with the young lady there about the cleanliness issue of the shower again.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our room and public areas were very clean. The breakfast buffet was excellent

We were in Rm 101. There was a problem with the shower draining out of the surround onto the bathroom floor and out into the entrance hall. We had to create a “towel dam” to prevent this. We informed the manager as this is a safety issue.

Breakfast was good with a variety of options. The room was large and very clean.

Our concern was the lack of safety in the bathroom/shower. There was no safety bar to hold onto while taking a shower. The shower floor was a bit slippery; we placed a towel to stand on. Also, there was no hook or rack to hang up wet towels or clothing items. The bed was a little too soft for us, although the bedding was very clean.

very clean; facilities all up to date; friendly and helpful staff; good breakfast; location was near a few decent restaurants and easy access to the interstate.

some of the breakfast items were missing (oatmeal not available) or over-heated (biscuits too crunchy), and the location was past a bit of "industrial" businesses, so walking to near-by restaurants was a bit unsettling.

For many it's important to be able to connect and recharge not only ourselves but our portable and wearable electronics: this room was heaven with easily accessible USB ports and electric outlets. The room had a modern clean décor; the bed was comfortable; plenty of working surface for my laptop and my wife's stuff. The only issue we had was my 11yo daughter found aluminum foil under the bathroom sink with pieces of aluminum foil stuck down inside. I panicked because my daughter touched it, but front desk said there was nothing on it. I didn’t make a fuss about it, but had there been “something on it” the fact that one of my kids found it is very disturbing.

The employees were exceptional; very professional, courteous, and helpful. They made sure we all had fresh coffee! When we went for take out food, the receptionist even opened up a small eating area for us. The hotel is within walking distance of restaurants and fast food restaurants. Family members did enjoy the indoor pool.

Because the hotel is situated right along interstate 64, if you get a room on that side, you definitely can hear the semi trucks driving by during the night. Also, there is only one elevator; busy in the morning hours.

The room was huge and the king size bed was very comfortable. The young woman, behind the desk, who was there in the morning and day, was very friendly and helpful. She is a huge asset to this hotel!!

Wallpaper was peeling a little in our room.

The staff greeted us as soon as they possibly could! Very polite and helpful! The manager was an absolute sweetheart and I enjoyed chatting with her! She knew why I was up there and when I arrived back, she asked how it went...after going to my room to change, I came back to her and we talked forever! She even gave me her card and asked for me to keep in touch! I’ve never seen any other hotel manager do that! The property was very nice and very tidy! My bed felt like a cloud! I definitely can’t wait to come back!

The only small complaint I have was the shower didn’t look very clean. There was that line at the bottom that tubs and showers make when they haven’t been clean and the floor of the shower felt like there was still shampoo or something on it because it was very slippery. We told the front desk when we checked out and she apologized and said she would let housekeeping know immediately. We were completely fine with that!

It was wonderful! Everything was great! Nice big spacious rooms we had the king room. Wish we could have stayed longer… We would definitely stay again!

Nothing really the only thing i can think of is that the pool was a little cold and was supposed to be heated but that’s not really anything to complain about.
