Holiday Inn Express New Orleans Downtown, an IHG Hotel

The hotel was generally in good condition and it was much more enjoyable to rest. • The bed was very comfortable, the pillow were all too soft and one firm but too thin. Very lovely comforter. • AC was powerful and worked very well throughout • Lighting was excellent and plugs were really plentiful and great • Shower/Bathroom was in an odd location but it was clean overall and the amenities were wonderful, i.e. Shampoo, Conditioner and Body wash. • Breakfast was surprisingly very good and had very nice choices. Well guarded for COVID and protected from the virus • The staff were very friendly and very helpful throughout. When help and service was needed they were instant. • The internet WiFi worked very well • The TV channels were excellent

• During COVID the hotel gets away from cleaning rooms, changing bedding, cleaning the bathrooms and providing towels and amenities to the room. The guest has to do everything. There was no instructions written or verbal. It was a guessing game that eventually we figured out. • Housekeeping needs to look under sinks and beds to make sure it is clean and mold-free • Parking was over priced • The door was damaged and had to be forced to close and open * Lack of written instructions for new arrangements during COVID for the rooms

The staff was super sweet and super helpful with recommendations to fun things to do since it was our first time visiting. The housekeepers were amazing and super sweet. Each one that came in to clean, I left a tip for them! We did use the laundry room and it was super convenient for us! We did not get a chance to use the pool or gym. Other than the younger people coming back to their rooms from partying, it was not as loud as we expected so that was great! We definitely expected the outside noises to be worse! My husband left some important things that we thought we packed before checking out, and the staff was very quick to call us to let us know before we left headed home!

Breakfast was disgusting. I’ve stayed at several holiday inns and have never had bad breakfast. There was one omelet option, only 1 type of sausage , hard biscuits. There was no gravy , no other omelet option like in others, there’s usually 3 different meats to choose from. For the price people pay to stay there for a weekend, you guys could do better with breakfast for sure!!!!! We shouldn’t have had to leave to get breakfast anywhere else. It was dumb for us to spend over $800 on our room and then have to pay over $100 for parking… parking should have been included in our stay. We also got woken up around 5am to the alarms going off….

The staff was friendly and very helpful - Breakfast was good and was changed each day. They gave us good advise as to how to get to the French Quarter.

There was an issue with our shower head bracket that was broken and we had to hold the shower head to take a shower. We asked that it be repaired the first day we were there, and it was not. We asked again on the 2nd day, and it still was not fixed. When we checked out, we expressed our dissatisfaction of this and were assured it would be corrected. They comped all of our market purchases for our stay and gave us some miles points.

The staff was super friendly. The room was clean. Only tiny issue was one set of remote blinds on the window did not operate correctly but definitely not a deal breaker. The location was perfect for the event we attended.

The people in the room next to us were very loud. Contacted the hotel front desk to complain. They contacted the room and the noise stopped. The noise started back up around 4 a.m. It was the start of Mardi Gras so. I did think the hotel raised their room rates way too excessively but again, it was the start of Mardi Gras so.

I really loved how it was very close to bourbon street. It was about a 10 minute walk to bourbon and it has a great view of the city.

Parking was an issue. According to the front desk, you had to reserve a parking spot to park on the property in advance. I was unaware of that when we arrived for check-in. We had to find parking outside the property in parking garage. And then we had to walk from the parking garage with all our luggage back to the hotel.

The price was good for a eventful weekend. The location is in walking distance to almost anywhere you wish to travel.

Parking lot was tight. Cleaning staff could not communicate with guests that only knew English. Towels were not readily available. There was a communication breakdown with simple requests. Breakfast is amazing, but once food ran out, they were not refilling-even with 1.5 hour left in service. TV did not work-bring your own entertainment. There were not any available ice buckets. There were not any extra toiletries or additional necessities available.

Hotel was very central to the city festivities. the breakfast was very good with staff available to help you with any problems. The hotel provided a handy map of the area and was available to give you directions to activities in the area. The pool was well maintained and parking, while expensive was safe and next door to the hotel. Bourbon Street was a couple blocks away with restaurants within easy walking distance.

I come from a small quiet town and found the area very noisy while trying to sleep. That was a small announce and those younger would probably not notice.

fast and friendly service. staff very helpful and welcoming. which made up for the issues we dealt with.

we wasted time with key on door not working/opening. then a/c was out on one of our 2 rooms so we slept in the heat all night since the maintenance guy was off the clock already. But what didn’t make it so bad is that first thing in the morning the a/c got taken care of. And the key got fixed within an hour of being in the hotel. it was just inconvenient.

Breakfast was great! The attendant was helpful & pleasant.

The front desk staff could use some work. I asked if I left in my car & came back, would I have to pay another $38+ (tax included) for parking or if it was one flat rate fee for all day. I feel like this was a legitimate question, but she actually laughed & said "uh, I'm sorry. I've never really been asked if someone would be double charged for parking before." Lady, this is New Orleans. Yall bout to charge parking for the closest gas station pump.

Hotel lobby was cleaned the pool tiny but clean and good for a cool down breakfast was a plus eggs sausage pancake cereal and locations safe about a 5 to 7 minute walk to Bourbon Street you have a refrigerator microwave ask for the grocery store 10 minute walk I spent six nights housekeeping came only once need to ask for housekeeping and towels especially the maintenance guy was very friendly and you can ask him for directions to anywhere he's very helpful
