Tim and Martha were gracious hosts and welcomed my husband, my son, my large dog, and myself for a four night stay with kindness and friendliness. They were very knowledgeable about the area and eager to provide helpful hints and information. They made great suggestions about places to take our dog- including a beautiful off-leash pond. Our rooms were well sized and comfortable. Breakfast was well planned and imaginative. Martha is a skilled cook and used in season ingredients to make varied two-course breakfasts. Each breakfast was completely different. I think my favorite was a crustless quiche and apple-chicken sausage. I also enjoyed baked peaches with brie. My foodie heart was delighted! Echo and Hammy, their two dogs, were also friendly, and my dog was able to play with them. Overall, I can't recommend Canterbury Cottage more highly.

The B&B was very nice, located walking distance from the town and the sandbar. The hosts were very friendly and provided excellent information about what hikes etc. to take in Acadia National Park and where to eat dinner. They loaned us a book about hikes for the day.

I expected more choice for breakfast-the hostess only made one dish and didn't ask us beforehand if it was something we would eat. The first morning it was not to our taste, but the second it was.

Martha and Tim are a wealth of knowledge. Super friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing! Every dish made my taste buds burst.I would have paid extra for lunch or dinner! Martha is an amazing hostess. Hammie and Echo(doggies) are so loveable that you will want to take them home. The cottage is warm and inviting. Decorated in true Maine style. Just beautiful! You can walk anywhere in Bar Harbor from this wonderful home.

Breakfast was very heavy and a little bit weird for our taste (eg burrito for breakfast). I want to thank the hosts as it was prepared fresh, with a lot of dedication and different selection every morning, but we were hardly able to eat it

Martha + Tim were so welcoming and gave great recommendations of the local area. Homemade breakfast each morning was a real treat. Echo and Hammy, were the best door greeters, and were quiet lovable pups.

Rooms are not well insulated and sounds travels easily. At times I could hear my neighbors in the room next door or those talking downstairs. Everyone was conscientious though and it didn't bother me.

The breakfast was above average and the broccoli and cheese souffle served one morning was fantastic. The owners were great and helpful and provided good information when asked.

It's just a little hard to pay $350/night for such a small room. I guess that's just the way Bar Harbor is but it's hard to feel you got your money's worth at that rate

Location is amazing. Breakfast was very good, you have to abide by their selections that change every morning but their selections include so many items (vegan friendly fruits, eggs, bacon, toast...) and it is prepared with so much care. The presentation and the dining room were amazing.

Pillows were too thick for me. Big fluffy pillows.

Absolutely loved the location - very central to Bar Harbor downtown. Additionally, the property, our room, and its decor were lovely. We were fascinated by how well Camalyne maintained the property and ensured her guests have a comfortable stay. Check-in was hassle-free - much simpler than hotel rooms in fact. The wifi worked well and the bed was super-comfortable. Our host also served us an excellent, sumptuous breakfast the next day. Overall - we highly recommend this place for your stay! I wish we booked another night.

Loved the coziness of the room & house. Breakfasts were delish. Dogs were sweet & well behaved. Martha has a nice balance of host, professionalism and boundaries.

Nothing really. I knew this going in that I had to use my earplugs due to shared walls. But I it was fine with them in.

Breakfast the second morning was outstanding. Hostess was very nice and accommodating. Location was ideal to enjoy the downtown attractions and nearby Acadia National Park.

Only drawback was I'm a first-time B&B user and didn't understand the protocol involved. I didn't get breakfast the first morning because I was unaware that I had to sign up for it. The hostess was not home to greet me and explain the "ground rules" when I arrived. It was not a big issue as she sent me off with granola bars, snacks, etc. to take with me.
