The Inn on Mount Desert

Amazing service! The staff was friendly, the room was clean, breakfast was great! I had originally planned on only staying one night, but when a storm rolled in and I ended up needing to stay an extra night. The staff were very accommodating and helped me keep the current room that I was in. Front desk staff were awesome and helping me think through my options, but not pressure me into something. I was able to work remotely from the room and had no issues with the wifi all day. Overall GREAT stay!

The blueberry muffins were fabulous. It would have been nice to have real cream (half and half) for the coffee though.

I stayed on the ground floor. I didn't really notice that the windows were actually sliding doors, so at bedtime I just closed the drapes and went to bed. At midnight I was awakened by a commotion at the sliders and a woman saying over and over "This is not our room!" Because I didn't realize it was a patio door, I hadn't checked the lock. The door was not locked and these people actually half entered my room, before the woman hauled the other person out and left. As I say, this is mostl;y on me for not noticing, but perhaps housekeeping could add checking that those doors are locked to their list when preparing ground floor rooms?

Super friendly staff and very helpful! Breakfast was great, great options and tasty, good coffee too. Loved the snacks in the afternoon and access to water and hot tea anytime. Room was super clean and beds very comfortable. Location was perfect, easy to walk to town but nice and quiet at night. Staff was helpful in planning visit to Acadia National Park, too.

A/C didn't work the second night and it took 3 attempts to get someone to fix it. The word just wasn't being passed on. It wasn't super hot out but it was humid and 78 degrees in our room was a bit warm to sleep in. Late that night when we made our second request for repair, they did bring us a much appreciated fan to keep us cool but still not a great night's sleep. This is a really minor dislike but don't like use of liquid eggs that's just me.

Breakfast was wonderful! Cookies in the afternoon. The staff was helpful and friendly. We loved the red rocking chairs on the porch. We were able to walk to town in five minutes. Close to Island Explorer free bus pickup. Ten minutes easy drive to Acadia.

Our room was behind the kitchen so it was noisy at 5:30-6 am as they started getting breakfast ready. Shower was really tight. But everything was clean and king bed was very nice!

The positives far outweighed the negatives but the bathroom situation was not great The bathroom was so small Sink for bathroom was in the room which I didn't like at all Pillows were uncomfortable Rooms are very dated

Breakfast was very good. I was expecting buffet style but guests had one of two options plus your typical breads and jams. I would imagine one could have asked for seconds but a single serving was fine for us.

For the high room rates that guests are paying, I would have expected our room to be done to perfection. I think a 3 year old could have made the bed better. I did show the picture to the front desk and even sent an email to the inn keeper hoping that a credit of some sort would have been offered, but nothing other than we are so sorry. The inn keeper did not even respond to my email which was disappointing.

Loved most things- staff friendly and seemed happy, wonderful bed, hand made bake goods & treats during checkin, nice mini fridge with separate freezer, fantastic breakfast that is made to order, comfortable room and although I faced the street I did not hear traffic in winter

A few tweaks would make this stellar- put up a towel holder and shelves near the sink as it’s tight with little counter space , put sound proofing under the laminate part of the flooring as that was the only time I heard the people above me.

this property was absolutely wonderful! The staff was attentive, hard working and always willing to help. Morgan was great! This property is lucky to have such a wonderful individual. I’m not sure the name of the person that ran breakfast, but they were wonderful too! the property was in a perfect location, clean and the beds were so comfortable-best night sleep!

there wasn’t a thing not to like

The breakfast was perfect; at least one healthy choice and very glad to have the option for a bowl of plain yogurt to start. Coffee was very good, saved a run to town for a quality cup to start they day! Location ideal - easy access to Acadia National Park by car and town by foot or bike. All four in my party agreed that the beds were comfortable. The bathroom heater was a nice comfort after hiking in the cool weather. The common space was well appointed and inviting. My partner especially appreciated the information book with details about the artwork on display, local history and "insider" recommendations. All hotel staff that we interacted with were very friendly and helpful.

A hand towel bar near the sink in the Pemetic king bed room was the only convenience we felt was lacking. I wish we could have extended our stay another day!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfasts each morning. The common area has games and books and a nice seating area by a gas fireplace.

We do not have any real negatives. The only con was the floor in our room near the microwave area was very creeky - maybe loose floor boards?
