Camden Riverhouse Hotel and Inn

My wife and I had breakfast at the Hotel - Breakfast was very good and staff was excellent. We had Lunch in town at the local Deli ( Delicious ) and in the evening we enjoyed ice cream on the Riverhouse Grounds which are well taking care of. Overall Riverhouse Hotel room was very clean and staff was pleasant and accommodating . Riverhouse Hotel is in an excellent location within a short walking distance to restaurants and all local attractions in Camden. We will definitely be back.

We had a great time and have no Complaints

Proximity is stellar, exceptional lobby- games, hot beverages, fresh fruit, super friendly staff. Seasonal decorations add to the charm. There was a dog bed for our companion, poop bags and treats in the room. Front porch, back upper porch and back yard with tables and seating and a wonderful fire pit with big cushioned wicker chairs. A s'mores stand was set up every night, and there's a big jar of candy on the front desk. The great women at the desk make all your dreams come true. There is an ice cream shop, cupcake place, restaurants and a small great food market with gourmet goodies within a stone's throw. it's pretty perfect.

Our room, right behind the office, was always very hot, even with the low 60 degree temps and an open window. Seemed to be the floor.

Continental breakfast included homemade waffles and fresh blueberries. There is a great fire pit in backyard with all fixings for s'mores provided. Across a small footbridge is a great ice cream stand. Location in town is convenient to shops and scenic waterfront and restaurants.

Mattress was good but on the soft side. There is no walk-in shower just a shower tub. Cleaning service is only provided once during one-week stay.

The front desk staff was very professional - courteous, helpful, always willing to accommodate our requests. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast offers everything (well no alcohol) - cereal, hard boiled eggs, pastries (including gluten free), yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, teas etc. The location is perfect — easy walk to shops, dining, marina, park. Excellent value!!!!!

Staff was so friendly, love the homey, laid-back vibe--roosters in the lobby in the morning, comfy couches in the lobby--other guests who were happy to be there and enjoying everything like we were :-) Location was awesome! Staff was incredibly understanding and helpful when we ended up needing to stay two extra days [had to cancel part of the trip 'out west']--they 'got' us a room during a very busy time and we were so grateful. Breakfast was great-!! We didn't realize how unusually great until we were in some other hotels that charged more and had pathetic, saran-wrapped excuses for 'breakfast'. We were longing for the waffles, scrambled eggs and sausages of the Riverhouse.

Although we loved the 'laid-back' vibe--the Riverhouse could use a bit of sprucing up. The 'garden' was in great need of weeding/clearing when we arrived...The Riverhouse charges enough, they could afford to hire someone to liven it up a bit, change out some of the worn decor. Just sayin'. :-)

We have been there before and loved the location, the walkability of the town, free parking. You can leave your car there all day and walk to shops and restaurants in town. Love the breakfast, the outdoor fire pit. We sat outside with a bottle of wine and met many interesting travelers.

Fan in shower did not work. No daily housekeeping, due to staffing issues.

Check-in was as expected and on time. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, very clean, and beautifully furnished. The jacuzzi was wonderful! This hotel has quite a few special touches that add to its overall charm. There is a fire pit in the courtyard and the fixings for S’mores are provided every evening. Umbrellas are in a basket near the door for guests to use in the event it’s raining outside. The hotel is decorated sort of shabby chic and is so welcoming and charming right down to the hotel’s friendly rooster who roams the courtyard and welcomes you right in. The breakfast area is very cozy and breakfast was adequate, the usual continental style. The hotel was extremely quiet at night. There are flowers and plants everywhere and I’m sure the gardens are gorgeous in the summer. We were there in mid October so most flowers were dying or gone. Overall, this was a lovely hotel. It’s easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the harbor. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our family and friends.

Our only complaint was that the bed was not comfortable. It sort of sank in the middle so we had some trouble adjusting to that.

So so relaxing. Flowers all around lights on things at night. S’mores station. Breakfast was perfect and there always was a person on hand for anything we needed I will recommend this place. Oh and walking into town to shop. Love the pedestrian side walks logo. Ha ha so cute. I spent a lot of money in your little town. Loved my stay 💕

Real coffee upstairs, nice fire pit out back at night, the gardens were perfect, and the Megunticook walk bridge was spectacular. Don't let them take down the dam

The heater was difficult to get going, like any when it was in the 40s outside (rm. 102). The bed comforter made up for the chill, so I didn't complain. Maybe some instructions for us clueless boobs!

We loved the location, our room, the check in staff, and the easy parking at the hotel. The furniture was very comfortable and the room was clean.

Our only complaint was that the bathroom smelled very odd (we stayed in the "Peach Door" room). There were lots of air fresheners around to try to mask it, but it just made it more obvious. It was not a huge deal though - we still loved the space overall and would definitely stay again.
