Fort Knox Inn

Amazingly unexpected lake views, including bridge, fort, many boats. Very clean room. Two brand new blue sofa couchs next to a large table for enjoying the view and eat a bit. Proximity to Acadia national park and Bar harbor (less than 50 minutes through very nice rural maine places) but much better price/quality ration than if right there. Very nice receptionist willing to wait a bit more than regular check in time at night (if you call ahead). Great coffee. Confortable beds.

Everything close to perfect. Only problem was fridge door not closing well.

Very friendly and helpful staff throughout our stay. Great location overlooking the river, Fort Knox, and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge (very pretty lit up at night). Easy access to the attractive walking path running along the riverfront. Nice sized mini-fridge and microwave oven. All areas of the room were very clean!

The bathroom area is a bit small but that is in keeping with the age of the property. It did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay.

Staff were very friendly, helpful & kind. We had a great meal right down the street at House of Pizza, they have a huge menu & very reasonable prices. We had a room that overlooks the River, strongly recommend that. We had a king bed that was very comfortable. Older property, but very clean.

Would have been nice to have some sort of breakfast, but I understand that is not offered everywhere, and there is a McDonalds & Dunkin Donuts nearby. It was a bit of a daily drive to Acadia for us. We based out of here to go to Acadia….next time I may try to find something a little closer. But overall, a fantastic stay for the cost.

Location was wonderful and everything we needed (food, gas and little necessities ) were within minutes from our hotel. Room had water view and great walking trail outside our hotel along the water. Great restaurant across the street and ice cream shop a few doors down! Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Would stay again.

The bathroom was very small but everything else was great so certainly can overlook the lack of space between the toilet and tub area.

The location was great for me and the desk clerk was wonderful. She was kind, friendly and accommodating, helping me to find the rooms I needed after booking at the last minutes for two separate nights. The rooms were clean and the river views are very lovely.

The view to the bay was wonderful. The shower water pressure was great. Room was spacious with comfortable bed and nice bath towels.

Sadly, a person could hear every noise in rooms adjoining; and, when people above walked, your heard every footstep. Unfortunately, the high fan on the a/c unit barely ran at what one would even think was low; so it could not camouflage the excessive noise. It sincerely spoiled what would otherwise have been a wonderful accommodation.

The location was perfect for for us. The room was very clean and the shower had plenty of hot water.

Our room was facing the water with a great view but it was sort of in the basement across from the laundry room. (called the first floor). We couldn’t keep the curtains open because people were always walking by. Also to park near the room we were on a steep angle. Not a big deal but a pain to get in and out of the car. We would stay here again but ask for an upper floor room.

Loved the view out the window at the river and the bridge. It changed all the time. If there was a veranda/patio for our room it would perfect. Loved the river walk just below the hotel. Well done. Staff could not be nicer. Felt like part of the family. Good WiFi and TV. Easy to visit other places nearby and Acadia.

Probably should have gone for a king size bed, as full size less roomy than I remember.

Great view of the river, despite all the fog and rain. Very quiet and peaceful. And, the "river-walkway" just behind the hotel. Love the location to the restaurant right across the street!

River view of Fort Knox and Bridge from room was beautiful. Riverwalk was right in front of hotel and easily accessible with plenty of benches to sit and read. Restarurants and ice cream shop across street.
