We enjoyed our stay at the Trade Winds Inn. Before we arrived we got a message with a link to a You Tube video to show us how to navigate the property along with written instructions about how to find the building entrance for check-in. The property is quite large with several blocks of rooms so the way finder was very helpful. Navigating through the hallways felt like we were inside a cruise ship which added to our sense of adventure, visiting this seaside resort town for the first time. The room was pleasant and as pictured on Booking.com. There was ample storage for our things with a walk-in closet, a full dresser with a pop up mirror built into the top, as well as two bedside tables. With the sofa and two accent chairs with a small round side table between, we had lots of room and options for seating and places to dine in the room. The highlights were your friendly and accommodating front desk staff and proximity to the ocean. We enjoyed the town even though we aren’t used to places that roll up the sidewalks at 8pm. It worked for us since we aren’t nightlife kind of folks! The quiet, quaint, small-town feel was just what we were looking for in a relaxing vacation stay. We discovered Rockland is called the art capital of Maine and we REALLY enjoyed the many galleries available to view local art as well as highlighting other artists from around the world. We didn’t have enough time to visit the Farnsworth Museum but , we will catch it next time we come to town.

Our only critical reviews would be that we had a couple of light bulbs that flickered in the bathroom but, we just unscrewed them and it wasn’t enough of a bother to mention it during our stay. We did message the property after we left so they could address the issue for the next guests. And, even though the ocean can be seen from the property,, our room faced a parking lot instead of the ocean. Again, it wasn’t an issue since we got such a great deal through Booking.com and we didn’t even mention it at all. We would recommend if you want the view , be sure to request when you book your room!!

I loved the location and proximity to restaurants and shops. Easy to get in and out of town for day trips. The beds were very comfortable. The other furniture could use an upgrade.

We were in a non-smoking room yet the smoke from the folks below us permeated our room. Very difficult to breathe and sleep. Some of the furniture could use an upgrade.

The location was great! Beautiful view of the Harbor from my room, close walking distance to go down to the Harbor or up to shops and restaurants!

Was told that breakfast was included, but the only stuff they had out was coffee, a machine that made pancakes and bacon. No other options. The sound from other rooms was quite loud, whether it was walking or even could hear some conversations!

The room was large updated and clean. The bed was very comfortable, great shower!

The hallways were filthy. The last day of our trip they decided to change the lock on the door to a keypad but did not tell us. Kind of strange when you come back to your room and can’t get in. Also the continental breakfast was a joke

Location is a priority for me so I can come to Rockland the night before and get the early ferry to North Haven. The continental breakfast of scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, coffee and juice with waiter service was a AWESOME. I was expecting the usual yogurt etc that you get yourself. It's pet friendly and there was a yippy dog on our floor. I spoke to the front desk who took care of the problem and when we returned from dinner the floor was quite until we checked out.

Our room was very clean and much larger than expected for the price. The bonus was a free continental breakfast included each day of our stay. Not super basic either, eggs, potatoes, sausage type items to choose from. We ate at the restaurant and the food and drinks were very tasty. Also, had a partial view of the ocean and could see our vehicle from the room. It is also a block to shops and restaurants. We took a nice walk around the harbor and circled around to the main street.

Restaurant prices were a little high for the quality/quantity. I had a wedge salad and it ended up being more of a side salad. For $12 the lettuce was chopped, there was barely any bacon, and the dressing, although home made, was bland. I also had crab cakes. They were good, but not $17 good. My salad and 4 medium sized crab cakes, plus 1 cocktail was $42. 😮 Also, didn't realize so much closed down in November, but most restaurants were closed for the season and most shops closed on Sundays.

The staff that was there was super helpful. We got fresh towels when we asked. The bed is on the slightly softer side which is nice and the pillows are good. Super clean for only having 3 house keepers for 99 rooms! No problems. The sun room was great over looking the bay. It was nice to sit out there and work. Walking distance to great restaurants and bars. I would stay here again. The downtown area is super cute. Felt very safe being right next to the police station

We booked this hotel for the bar and restaurant but sadly because they were short staffed they were closed. The breakfast was pancakes that where the size of a dime, hard boiled eggs, and pastries and the worse coffee We all ever had. Disappointed in breakfast and the fact we couldn’t just eat and visit the bar

Great location and view of the harbor. The room was like a suite, very spacious with a sofa. Very clean and cheery. Off street parking was on site, making checking in and out easy. The staff were very friendly. Great value to top it off.

The hotel is under renovation, but we were in a newly refurbished room. We were not bothered by any ongoing work.

Balcony allowed sitting in 75 degree weather to view of the harbor with many boats! Location was perfect to walk across the street to an excellent restaurant - Landings! Hot breakfast (eggs, toast and bacon or sausage with coffee or juice) was perfect to start each morning and was included with room. Great stay!

Would have been nice if ice machine on our floor worked. Had to go up a level and clear to other end of hotel.
