Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elkton - University Area, an IHG Hotel

Very impressed with the ambience of the lobby and guest services area upon entering the hotel. The area looks updated and clean. There definitely was thought put into the Decor, and use of space. The guest services team were very welcoming, and I can tell their kind demeanors were natural, and not forced. This location sits conveniently between shopping, leisure, and places of worship. I will add that the Night Auditor was very kind also. I needed extra towels for my room very late into the evening, and he stopped what he was in the middle of doing to get those items for me. Very much appreciated for the attention, detail and focus on guest relations. I truly appreciate the late check-out option, also. This was truly appreciated since my wife and I didn't actually get to sleep until 3AM the next morning. So very much appreciated for the ability to have that request fulfilled.

No complaints on this trip. It was a good stay. If anything; the room cost for the one-nighter was different (higher) than what I was quoted at originally on Booking.com. I will have to review that and see if there were some sort of incidentals charges / holds or just general taxes or fees I didn't see initially, or pay attention to when I booked and or upon my stay. Not a complaint, just a notation and teaching tool to check charges for any differences between the booking and the stay.

it was on of the cleanest hotels with the friendliest staff that we have stayed at. The staff even went out of their way to give us some suggestions of which restaurant would deliver. we choose their top choice which lead to some of the best cheesesteaks we’ve had.

There was no hot tub with the pool. I was cold and would have loved to be able to relax in a hot tub as my son swam in the pool.

Upon arrival we entered the hotel and the lady her names was Stacy it was her first night working the front desk. She had some problems finding our reservation but the night manage was there to help and gave us an up grade. We wanted to swim and again Stacy helped us out. We need our clothes wash. The dry for customers were not working properly so again Stacy helped us out and stayed over her shift to make sure that our clothes were dryed and brought to our room.

The indoorpool was a bit cold but hey it was fine.

The room was comfortable and the heating unit was quiet which gave us a good night's sleep. The check-in and checkout staff were pleasant and helpful when we needed to change rooms. The breakfast staff goes the extra mile during COVID and had individually bagged English muffins, bagels, and bread for toast so we were not breathing or touching something another guest would choose for breakfast. We stayed in 5 different hotels during our 12 day trip and the Holiday Inn Express in Elkton was the ONLY hotel who went this extra step. The breakfast staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Our reservation was for a room with a king size bed. However when we got to our room it had an odor that seemed like someone had smoked in the room and the phone did not work. The front desk staff assured us it was a non smoking hotel, but quickly found us another room, though it had 2 queen beds. We were refunded the difference in cost of the rooms.

Staff was polite and friendly. Very helpful when needed. Rooms were clean and appropriately stocked. Pool was refreshing (a little cloudy) and was well maintained. Gym facilities had all working equipment and everything was clean. Breakfast was well stocked and freshly prepared. Location was perfect for our visit at the University of Delaware.

room was next to some kind of functional room - loud noises - like large bins rolling or something. the area near the mini fridge made loud noises, the heater made quite a bit of noise coming on/off and it didn’t seem possible to turn fan to constant on (to help drown out the noises)

Clean, comfortable, quiet. Staff very friendly and helpful. Large room. Nice linens. Coffee in lobby.

No coffee maker in room. Low toilet. Small bathtub. View. No freezer in fridge. Price.

The staff are extremely attentive and helpful. Coffee 24/7. The people that work there like being there and do little things to be helpful, kind, and go the extra mile. It was a great experience and good value for the money.

Nice clean rooms. Had extra pillow in closet which is a big deal for me. Breakfast was yummy and they kept up on it to keep it full during busy times.

Pool was smaller than what pictures made you believe. Chlorine was very heavy but overall kids loved it!

Immediately had issues fixed, breakfast choices were good.

Some staff weren't quick to greet you, but that got better. There were lots of truckers there the night we arrived and some were rude in the a.m.
