I can't say enough good things about Light Horse - Harper's Ferry is one of my favorite getaways and this is my new favorite place to stay. It's perfectly appointed for the town's vibe, breakfast was made to order by a great chef, and the room was spacious and comfortable. You can walk to the Barn across the lot for drinks and entertainment. Also, management let me park on the lot for an extra three days so we could hike to DC and take the train back. So much money and trouble saved. Thank you so much and see you soon!

The only possible drawback is the 15-20 minute walk to Lower Town, but I loved it! No complaints!

The Inn is lovely, ample parking, great breakfast, and Fancy was a great host! Definitely recommend it!! Also, all the rooms have king size beds which to me is a huge plus! There is a great restaurant right next door. We also went to two local vineyards which was super fun -- 868 and Two Twisted Pots!!

The only thing better isn't something the Inn can do anything about! It is a bit of a hike to town. Didn't bother us, I just had not realized it and we weren't prepared for it when we set out on the first day. Again, nothing they could do, just mentioning it so people wear the right shoes when they head out their first time!!

We stayed 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Parking is very conveniently located directly behind the building. (Note that there are stairs involved, approx. a flight.) The proprietors texted a code to access the back door, and our room key was in our room's door. Our room (Suite 2) was a good size with a king bed and very large bathroom. There is plenty of common space downstairs with sofas, chairs, etc. Breakfast is served at 9:00 am in the dining room. The chef, Megan, is warm and friendly. Breakfast each day was delicious, a full plate including eggs, meat, fruit, etc. Coffee, tea, and snacks are available all day. The property is well situated to visit Harpers Ferry, and one day we toured Antietam.

We love old homes & other such buildings where the original craftsmanship has endured the years. The plates breakfast each morning is wonderful! The Innkeeper is close if needed, but not hovering over you. More of a “make yourself comfortable” vibe!

Not even a complaint, just be aware that some noise does travel from the room above or below you. This is understandably just simply unavoidable in a structure of this age. Couple, keep “frolicking” quiet. :)

This historical house has been upgraded significantly while maintaining the charm of its history. The manager, Angela provided an awesome breakfast and was very engaging to give us some history the house.

The ceiling fan in suite 2 was unstable. Angela said it had been replaced recently but there must be an issue with its mount. A challenge was needing to stand on the bed to turn the fan on. It is on a light switch that controls the light and fan. We had to turn the light off to have the fan run.

We enjoyed the location & the fabulous friendly chef in the mornings. We felt at home away from home.

The absolute only thing we didn’t like was we switched from room 2 to stay an extra night (because we loved it there) to room 4 so I could enjoy a bigger shower, but my hubby was disappointed for not having a tv. Sometimes he likes to rest watching tv, while I shop.

Charm of the rustic original touches. Original hardwood floors, stonework, and furniture. Breakfast was amazing! Went there mid-December, so not much was open but very peaceful.

The bed was quite hard and didn't get much sleep. Also, the heating was up pretty high and wished I could have turned it down. However, I was able to open a window a little to make it more comfortable. Lastly, I was hoping to have a clawfoot tub in my room but had a nice modern tub/shower.

easy/plentiful parking, well air conditioned (temps outside in the 90’s), clean, historic building, period furnishings, lots of interesting paintings and artwork, comfortable, fabulous breakfasts by Megan, plenty of nice areas to sit and read in the communal space downstairs, easy access to coffee and tea making adjacent to kitchen.

nothing specific with the property. be aware that the walk to/back from downtown Harpers Ferry is downhill/uphill and about 0.8 miles.

Room was huge and bed was, too. Breakfast was better than any hotel breakfast we've had before. They even let us chain our bikes up underneath their back porch.

We loved the age of this historic building, and found the antique furniture, old lock key and squeaking wood floors charming. It's not a new hotel, so be sure to keep this in mind.

Great breakfast, friendly staff who was able to answer questions about the area. Room #1 was very large, with a king bed, shower and tub with jets. Other rooms are smaller but nicely decorated.

It's an older building with wood floors, so you hear everyone walking around. It's almost too far to walk into town -- less than a mile but at the top of a steep hill.
