AC Hotel by Marriott Grand Rapids Downtown

Great location!

The parking was confusing, far, and expensive. I was there with 2 other couples and we ended up in 3 different parking structures by following their directions. That definitely needs to be addressed. I parked in the JW guest parking, had my ticket validated at the front desk and still had to pay $40 to get out. It’s definitely not convenient if you’re an older person, or someone in not the best health. The walk was far from all the structures,

I loved the door on shower/toilet room The bed and linens very comfortable Very clean

I did not care for the function of kitchenette and bathroom being combined. I felt like I was brushing my teeth, applying makeup etc in the kitchen. I’d separate toilet from shower/sink/mirror instead Was not aware of $50 incidental charge until after the fact and I inquired Coffee/tea station quite skimpy and coffee low quality

All the fees every night was an additional $50 added to my stay (taxes, fees and parking) not notes on reservation. This add $200 to my travel budget that was not expected or planned for.

The bar was not something we expected and we ended up coming back to our hotel to enjoy the music and drinks. It was such a fun atmosphere and the bar staff was excellent! We also didn't know the hotel was dog friendly, which I thought was so great. Loved seeing all the pets at the bar.

The breakfast was a little overpriced for what was offered. Would have loved to see a little more there.

This place was absolutely amazing. I loved the lobby bar and how it turned into a club at night. Food was amazing. Drinks were amazing. The only suggestion I could make was to add a mirror above the desk in the rooms to do hair and make up or someone else is in the bathroom.

The location was great. The blackout curtains were great because the window faced the street and kept the street lights out. The lounge area was very nice as well.

It would be nice if the room was equipped with towel bars in the bathroom and near the sink. Other than that nothing else.

Very clean and modern….

The only thing that was very disappointing was parking. When I arrived, I asked about parking and was directed across the street to a public lot. When I left, I was asked if I need parking validation. It was at that time that I was told about parking at the JW. I feel like that due to bad direction from the check-in person that I wasted money at the other parking lot.

This hotel is absolutely lovely. So beautiful and comfortable. The room was roomy and comfortable with clean modern lines. So often there are not enough surfaces in hotels but this provided and plenty of room for suitcases. The bathroom was beautiful and the shower was excellent. The staff were so very helpful and friendly. We had an absolutely wonderful stay. Great location. Restaurants and scooters near by.

The restaurant/bar was closed on Sunday but this makes sense during Covid and there were plenty of options within walking distance.

The friendly manager & receptionist helped me fix the screw up & got me my room. Super nice bar by the lobby with really good food.

Didn't like how Booking.com screwed up our reservation. Somehow the hotel didn't have it. The parking situation can be confusing for first time visit.

The trane A/C would drop 5 degrees over about 30 minutes, then turn off and raise 5 degrees and kept doing that all night, making it uncomfortable and difficult to sleep. We got there and were informed we couldnt use the hotel parking had to pay an extra $25 to pay for city parking.
