Hyatt Place Grand Rapids Downtown

It's right downtown, the loation is very good. The beds are very comfortable, you really feel this place is fairly new. The breakfast was pretty good as well, with a lot of variety offered, though I wouldn't mind a few more non-sweet options. The clocks next to the beds had USB-slots, which was a life-saver, because I did not have any US-adapters with me and that allowed me to charge my phone anyways.

Downtown has it's cons as well. It tends to get fairly loud on the street at night, expecially on the weekend. Also, 30$/night for parking is kind of a rip off.

It was close to everything we needed and short trip to the beach. Very friendly neighborhood. Staff was outstanding!! Couldn’t have been friendlier and more accommodating!

The room we booked was not like pictures, original pictures featured a kitchenette and when we got there pictures were gone and kitchenettes was not advertised on property. There was a mini fridge and no microwave and room did not have a walk in shower as advertised either. The city view was not very pretty either, a lot of parking garages and dirty rooftops but not terrible. Breakfast was out of forks and a lot of food and hour before closed. Fryer was out for restaurant at night as well. Parking was on street for pay per hour or $35 a day at hotel. For price we paid it should be included. Air kicked on and was loud and woke us up several times a night.

Excellent services and exceptional staff. Ray from the morning breakfast kitchen crew was very personal and knowledgeable with the downtown area. Erin too displayed exceptional management skills as he worked both the check-in as well as the bar flawlessly. Cassie was super busy w managing the check-in and bar and when a group of us tried ordering wings she explained that she couldn't make the wings for obvious reasons. However, once things slowed down she came back over and asked if we were still interested with having the wings, which course we ordered. She was exceptional with going above what she could do and for that my family is greatful. No complaint here given the state of how difficult it is to maintain the workforce, and to have people show up with a positive attitude.

Great location in downtown within walking distance to Devos Place. The room was spacious. The hotel staff was fantastic, knowledgeable of the local area, and friendly. Breakfast was good which included bagels/toast, cereal, and hot items such as eggs, potatoes, and ham. Parking was an added fee but was in an attached parking garage. Overall a nice stay.

Not much to complain about. Price reflected that of others in the nearby area. Bed was a little more firm for my personal liking but still comfortable.

The breakfast was amazing! It was well stocked with so many options. The location is great, we were able to get every where we needed to go by walking. I wish the parking fee was included in your room rate, but it's nice to have somewhere to park so close and the process in and out of the gate is nice. The rooms are updated and a good size, comfortable beds, and nice amenities. We enjoy the pool and work out rooms.

Breakfast was OK, but we wanted a full breakfast so we were able to find two good restaurants nearby. Location was great - heart of downtown, easily walkable to many shops, restaurants and attractions.

Only drawback to excellent ratings in all categories was the fact that our in-room heating unit didn’t work. Tried setting the thermostat multiple times with no success. Tried calling the front desk, but no answer (approx. 11:00 pm). Spoke with the desk clerk in the morning, who indicated engineering would be called and the manager would call us - however, no call. Talked to the manager as we were departing - she was very pleasant and provided a $50 refund for our trouble. She was the most helpful; others were not. Overall a very nice hotel, but no one to answer the front desk phone at night is unacceptable. Problem can be easily addressed. Good luck!

Downtown convenience. with a very comfortable clean room.

The confusion around my booking online, for two rooms, which I had full confirmation for, and that fact not being processed correctly. The assistance from the hotel staff was somewhat unsympathetic and limited, and I was told that I would have to sort this out with the booking company. I think this could have been handled better, and I would have preferred not to have been told this was my mistake for using a third party. I did so because I was travelling from Europe and most people look for accommodation via online when they aren’t familiar with the hotels. The breakfast was rather disappointing, Although I understand the reasoning for “continental” breakfast, it could have been presented with better quality foods and fresh items.

The room was great! We had a corner room with lots of windows overlooking the city. It was the perfect size for the two of us, with a king bed and a little sitting area. Bathroom was just large enough with a great glass shower. Highly recommend upgrading to this city view room!

We had to wait an extra hour and a half to get into our room the day before (check in was at 3pm, we couldn't get it until 4:30). And, our check out time was at 12:00pm, but by 10:30 we had knocks on our door from housekeeping (and they knocked at least three more times before we finally checked out) - so it made us feel a bit rushed to leave.

I liked the view from the corner room. Blackout and sheer drapes were nice options. I liked the easy access to the hotel and elevator from the street (1st floor).

I wish that the room was stocked for 4 adults, which is what I booked for. There were only 3 towels, 3 glasses, 1 coffee mug. The extra blanket was too thin, it should have been a thicker blanket/comforter type for the two adults sleeping on the pull out sofa bed. For the price per night I was hoping for something a little extra- bottled water in the room waiting for you would be nice. The pool was on the smaller side, but we still had fun swimming in it.

Location was good (as well as parking options on site and nearby), and check-in was easy. Breakfast was great, friendly staff. Hotel was modern & extremely clean, rooms were spacious with comfortable beds.

The pool is very small (hard to keep up with the pool towels too but that is probably always an issue)
