Homewood Suites by Hilton Kalamazoo-Portage

We loved how clean, spacious, and homey the hotel room felt. We brought our pet corgi with us and it was perfect for us. Full size kitchen. My fiancé said “wow we could stay here for a week”. We were only there for one night but I would’ve loved to stay longer. What we loved the most: fresh baked cookies upon arrival, friendly and accommodating staff. Clean spacious room with a clean full sized fridge. Felt like a little apartment. Beautiful window view of a little river & lots of trees! Nice outdoor area for pets. Hot coffee in the morning with a hot breakfast. My fiancé said this was the best room we have ever stayed in so it exceeded his expectations lol! Although we have stayed at much fancier hotels.. this one really won him over!

Our air conditioner didn’t work well but it wasn’t a huge problem. I also just really like it cold when I sleep.

We were able to upgrade accommodations to better suit our needs. Front desk staff was great! Having a kitchen allowed us to eat in our room ( safer than eating out at this time #Covid). We were able to walk to a grocery store to get what we needed.

Bathroom cleanliness could have been better. Kitchen wasn’t supplied with soap, dishwasher detergent or sponge/ towel. I needed to rewash glasses and dishes prior to use. (These were washed in the dishwasher but they weren’t clean enough to feel comfortable using them. A couple of wine glasses would be a nice addition to the kitchen inventory.

The staff was exceptional and everything was clean. The location was great.

It was a very busy weekend and they ran out of clean towels. The room we booked was not available when we arrived even though I had called to confirm. The staff was very nice and did their best to accommodate us.

Convenient location, kitchen area, quiet for most part

Hot tub was nasty and out of order. Staff was rude when I questioned if there was meat and her cold reply it is in the gravy.

we were not informed the room would not be cleaned or serviced. the sheet. blanket, and cover were poorly assembled.

Very spacious suites! Everything you could need is provided. Rooms are quiet and clean, and the staff is friendly. I especially enjoyed the high ceilings in the living and bedroom.

My only complaints are that they didn’t have a coffee maker in my room, but it was an honest mistake. They made me coffee on the spot and corrected it immediately. The tv is also pretty old programming (only limited cable, no on demand, no streaming options).

The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Very quiet despite being right next to the highway!

No complaints at all!!

The public areas to meet were great. The room was laid out very well. Proximity to restaurants was great.

Pandemic caused areas to be closed.

The location was great and having a separate living room and bedroom was exactly what we wanted.

It was pretty highly priced in my opinion.
