Traverse Bay Inn

EVERYTHING! Beautiful little place! Great location & the 2 bedroom was so clean! I LOVE attention to details like the toilet paper roll & tissue was folded to a point which means they paid attention to those! Also it smelled so good! Also appreciate them being pet friendly & giving us a great room where my friends big dog could just go out our door & be steps away from the wooded area! The clerk was exceptionally nice & very efficient in checking us in quickly & was very kind in every way! Will recommend over & over & definitely stay here in the future! The fireplace was wonderful & the whole lay out of the 2 bedroom is perfect!

The bedding and towels were fresh and clean. The kids loved the pool and had their own room. Having a kitchette was excellent. The space in the room was very family friendly and made for a comfortable, relaxing stay. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating.

Honestly, there wasn't much. If I were being nitpicky, I wish there were enough coffee packs for the length of our stay in the room. It wasn't always convenient for us to ask the staff with the hours they were available. The rooms could use an update, but the staff does an excellent job.

There’s a nice paved walking/biking trail just back of the hotel that goes everywhere, so if you have a bike you are set. This is a classic, well-maintained property with lots of great features. In the summer, there’s a nice pool/gazebo. The kitchen facilities were excellent and made it easy to save money and avoid crowded restaurants. The people who run this place are great.

It’s a little challenging to turn left onto the busy street to get back toward the main Traverse City area. But there is a traffic signal to the right that gives you a break, or you can go that way to turn around. You can’t really see the lake from the property any more, because of all the new construction.

Room was super clean. Water pressure in shower was excellent, always had hot water. Want a fresh towel? Simply leave what you used in the laundry bag and place it outside your room and housekeeping replaces whatever you used! What an awesome service! Kitchen had every item you could possibly need and the larger refrigerator to hold groceries and drinks was an added bonus. Tons of closet space. TVs in every room. Heated pool.(Seasonal) Park right outside your door for easy loading/unloading. Conveniently located. What a delightful place!

Beds weren't the most comfortable, but what hotel bed ever is? Couch was old and in need of replacing. Adding ottomans to put your feet up would be a great addition too.

Older Inn that has been kept up though the years. Customer Service was excellent and the inn reminds me of the old inn’s with manager helping with staff with any questions is or service that is requested. Across the street from the property there is a public beach. I have stayed at the facility I think about 3 or 4 times. I will never stay anywhere else in Traverse City unless there is no available at the inn!!

The room was a perfect size and price. We really liked being about to cook in our room. When everything is so expensive no days, this helped make it affordable.

I didn't realize the office would be closed when we checked in so it took a minute for me to locate the keys in the registration box. Also, I didn't realize the kitchen would have pots, pans, and dinnerware. Maybe the website could say more about what is included for the kitchen. I could have called to find out these things too.

The queen suite was perfect. The bed was very comfortable and the location was central to most everything as well as being quiet. It was nice being able to have our little dogs . The staff was pleasant and friendly. The room provided all the essential amenities, and I especially liked having a broom to sweep the entrance of leaves and debris.

$100+ ($30.00 a day) for our 2 small dogs , for a 3 night, 2 day stay seemed a little high to me. And a paper stating there would be an additional charge if pets got on the furniture was a little off putting, especially when there wasn’t daily housekeeping… Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay…

We are very particular of hotels.My wife being a germaphobe and all, felt more than comfortable with the room, it was the cleanest ever! Decorated very nice and simple. Towels, bedding very white and clean. We live in TC, we stayed at the motel because our home was being worked on, we stayed the first 2 nights at a chain down the road which was not as clean and way more expensive! We wished we would've stayed at Traverse Bay Inn to start with, now we know where we will stay if we ever need to or just for fun! Thank You TBI for the great room and fair prices!! 🌷

Loved the suite as it gave our family enough room to spread out and not be on top of each other. Nicely appointed kitchenette was helpful to start our days off with a breakfast we could make ourselves and have options.

Beds could be more comfortable (one had significant depressions on one side). Also bathroom fan seemed to take quite a while to pull the moisture out of the air - might need to check if the outside vent is covered or clogged.
