Cottonwood Court Motel

This was one of the most inexpensive motels available in Santa Fe for the date and last-minute notice. The staff was friendly, and the room was old-fashioned, with real wood vigas in the ceiling. There was a coffee pot, microwave, and refrigerator, and the bed was very comfortable. There were charming flowers painted on the walls around the doors outside. There was a closet to hang clothes. The room was small but was all we needed for a night. Roses bloomed outside the window.

No electrical outlets in the bathroom. There may have been wifi, but we didn't have a code and didn't connect. Just two pillows on the queen bed, but we were OK.

Charming real adobe vintage motor court in convenient location, especially if you have a car. Easy parking right in front of your room. I'm glad places like this still exist. So much more charming than a multistory motel or hotel.

We needed a place to stay for the night unexpectedly. Luckily there was an affordable room available at the Cottonwood Court! The room was nicely decorated and had everything we needed. We got a King sized bed, which is rare for motels, and it was extremely comfortable! There was an AC unit in the room and it was nice and cool. The staff was extremely friendly. Overall we were very pleased with the accommodations for the night. The location is just outside of Santa Fe, so if you are looking for something cheaper than a place in town this is a good option!

Classic Motel in an Original Adobe style

Sweet little motel. You know it has so much history. The ceilings are beautiful, please stop getting paint on them. We both wished we had 2 pillows. We also thought the bedspread should have more vintage New Mexico feel. We were able to walk to breakfast at a great place Ikonic Coffee, stopped at a yard sale on the way back. It was fun.

This motel was very cute outside. It was clean and comfortable with a/c, a microwave, and refrigerator. There are nice chairs outside.The Pantry restaurant is a block away. It’s only a bit over a mile to the South Capital bus and train station, so I could walk there.

The furniture, woodwork, and bedspread were all very dark making the room not as cute on the inside as the motel was outside. I needed to sit outside to get the wifi to work.

I liked the location; the cleanliness of the room; the old style furniture seemed to fit the age of the property. The check in was relatively quick and friendly.

I rented room #2: A light in one of the lamps did not light. The sink stopper was missing the lever to raise and lower it. one of the toilet seat bolts was loose or broken, making sitting on the seat very unsteady. A suggestion: the rod in the closet should be placed further back from the front of the closet so as to allow for a more convenient, better and complete use of this area. provide 1-2 more hangers.

Keep in mind this property is not located in the hub of galleries and restaurants, however, The Pantry, a family owned restaurant was an easy block or two from the motel...DELICIOUS and REASONABLY PRICED with EXCELLENT SERVICE. My room was EXTREMELY CLEAN. Shower had great pressure. Motel had a lot of retro character...would definitely stay again.

I had to work two shifts 12 hours apart over one weekend. I decided to book the Cottonwood because its got a great Route 66, old school look when driving by! And for years, I have just driven by! It was definitely not updated but it was a classic road motel. Very clean. Well appointed, good towels, good water pressure. The heater/cooler made enough noise (good noise) to lull me to sleep easily. I had planned to leave early in AM and was able to just leave the key and lock the door on my way out. The woman at the desk was personable and talkative, interested in me and why I was arriving! I wore a Balloon Fiesta jacket and she was giddy with information about the event and her tourist clients who made them too busy to be able to see the EVENT this year! Every thing was so laid back and simple. Some knuckle head set off his car alarm...to my chagrin at early 4am...not happy, and the fool was probably too tired to wake and turn off the alarm. Thank goodness for the noise of the heater! It kicked on and lulled me back to sleep. I will be back again...oh, yeah. Of course I ate when I stayed over! 2nd Street Brewery on Rufina. Always the BEST burger in SF ...great beer and the staff was only men that night (good for me) who were talkative and relatable and just down right nice guys ( I left a hefty 50% gratuity...the french fries were perfectly burned the way I like...)and I bought a 6 pack of porter to go (just canned last weekend). The weekend was a financial and relaxing bonus. Will be back and will tout the benefit of vintage motels on vintage streets...Thanks Cottonwood Motel!

The parking lot is a bit precarious but doable. Bathroom was stark but vintagey tiled and cold floor. Kept me awake! I did not like that there was no plug for the charger close enough to the bed...I had to plug away from the bed and hope my alarm was loud enough, as it HAD to be charged...the coffee pot was clean and sparkling but made watery terrible coffee.

We asked for a quiet room. They put us in a corner suite away from Cerillos. It was clean and the manager (or owner) was there, ensuring that things were clean and in good shape. He highly recommended seeing Meow Wolf and then asked about it after we returned. We appreciated his suggestion and really enjoyed our Santa Fe experience.

There was an air freshener in the room that smelled sickly sweet. We removed it and the place smelled fine. The manager apologized and said that there had been diapers in the trash from the people before and they put it in to make sure that smell was gone. It was, and the room was fine.
