Villas de Santa Fe

The amenities in the lodge and what I received in value for the room itself met my expectations. I definitely will be staying here again on my next visit. The hotel was clean and inviting!

A couple of things to improve on. I'd like to see checkout be at 11am instead of 10am, by default. Also, please let guests know about the room cleaning policy. Having to give the staff 24 hours notice to come clean our room is unusual. Lastly, this may be a booking.com policy - if it's possible to charge the full rate upon booking, rather than charging the $25/nightly fee separately (even if it was previously explained), that'll be great. Guests prefer a stay without any surprises.

Suite was perfect - kitchenette was more than adequate, bed was comfy, blankets were warm, bathroom worked, location was PERFECT, parking was always available. About location: walking distance to the Plaza and the heart of Santa Fe, and a very short drive to the shopping center with two different grocery stores, CVS, and more. Could be walked except that you wouldn't want to carry gorceries back!

The all inclusive fee for WiFi, amenities, and parking was not revealed in advance by Booking.com.

Location was easy walking distance to downtown areas and food shopping so having a kitchen with utensils and other kitchenware was definitely a plus. The bed was very comfortable and, with the master bedroom separate of other rooms, the room remained undisturbed by kitchen or bathroom lights and general noise.

Being in a middle floor you can hear walking above and plumbing lines of adjacent units. If you're a lite sleeper it could be annoying. I would suggest taking a top floor unit if possible.

The wifi really didn’t work

The pool and hot tubs were great! The location was very convenient to downtown.

Wished the jets in the smaller hot tub had been working.

The location allowed us to walk to downtown destinations and restaurants. The kitchenette, living room features were good for the price.

Upon check-in we were surprised by an additional $17 "resort fee" that was not disclosed when booking with booking.com.

Well located, handy to the main plaza with many shops, boutiques, and galleries within walking distance. We got a suite which was very large and comfortable.

Couldn't check in until 4:00, even though we were told at noon we were first in line for a room. For the price we paid, I expected to be able to get settled sooner. Biggest complaint is about the mandatory "Resort fee". What a rip-off! Yes, there's a pool (the type that every hotel/motel used to have standard) and an exercise room, but a resort? I don't think so. Those fees should be outlawed; they're nothing more than an add-on at the end of the booking process, when you think you're getting one price then get nailed with an additional charge - you've already gotten that far in making the reservations so it's kind of "Oh, screw it, I'll just got ahead and get it." Not pleased in the least.

Pictures of these rooms don't do it justice, it's really clean and cozy. The location is unbeatable for the price. Noise was not a problem while we were there either. Finding an open parking spot was never a problem, even though we were staying over Memorial Day weekend!

I can't speak to the amenities (hot tub, pool, gym, etc.) because we didn't use them during our stay. It was slightly inconvenient only having one elevator for the building we were staying in, but we just opted to use the stairs instead.

Location was excellent - being walking distance to the Plaza with its shops, restaurants, museums and coffee shops was great. A good value for being so close to everything we wanted to go to. Our suite was very quiet and dark, and the fold-out couch let our daughter stay with us which was nice. A bonus to have a privacy door between the two sleeping areas. I also loved the full-size lotion dispenser in the bathroom as I am not used to the dry weather and used a lot. We didn't have much time to use the kitchen amenities but appreciated the glassware, mugs, and tea supplies. The pool was also very refreshing.

Only one complaint and that was the tub drained very slowly and did not have slip-proof strips on the bottom. But when I reported the slow tub on checkout (we only spent two nights) they called it in right away.

The 1 bedroom was a nice size, and the property is in a good location. The kitchen was also pretty well equipped for basic use.

The property could use some maintenance. The kitchen floor in our unit had some structural issues - over an inch of sag, pulling the floor away from the wall. Some of the tile was loose as a result, and people walking in the kitchen above ours caused enough movement that the ceiling light rattled and clanked. We were not surprised to pay it, but in our opinion the compulsory resort fee should be included in the price. This is not a resort, and the amenities provided via the resort fee were not worth the price.
