I didn't like the way one of the employee spoke to my BLACK son because he was sitting in the lobby late one night.

Started with Valet absolutely fantastic attitude and Great personality, Check In was seamless. Again the Front Counter Person Great Personality, Then We got to the Room. WOW!! Over the Top Room king size bed, To a full on living room, Dining room, Kitchen area, Second bathroom. What a shame My Wife and I where just passing through. We are traveling across the country. Stayed in few big name Hotels. You put those places to Shame. Very Enjoyable. We will be back

We needed three rooms for our visiting family and two needed to be connected. The Heldrich was able to accommodate our needs by providing us with a large one bedroom suite with connecting room for the kids and another bedroom across the hall. We were all together in our private rooms and very happy and comfortable. I appreciated the extra care taken by the front desk personnel to accommodate our unique needs. It was no problem having a portacrib in one room, and for one night we had a rollaway bed in the suite. Perfect for multiple families! Valet parking was quick and friendly. I will book at the Heldrich again for my family when they come to town!

This hotel has a check-in at 4pm, which is unusually late for hotels, and they normally enforce an early check-in fee of 25$. I checked in at 3:30pm and initially they warned me about the fact that I would have had to pay the check-in fee. After some negotiations, however, they agreed that 25$ for 30 minutes advance time is excessive, and waived the fee. I'm grateful for the flexibility of the personnel in the face a hotel policy which is clearly excessively strict. Employees usually don't like to risk scolding, or worse, for ignoring company policy just to make a customer happy, but the employees of the Heldrich Hotel did. I therefore recommend this hotel wholeheartedly: their welcome desk is staffed by intelligent professionals. And I encourage the hotel to review their strict policy to make it at least proportional to the actual advance time.

US citizens are in love with AC and cold rooms, even when it's not warm outside. I disagree: I prefer to come in to a warm room. I could disable the AC in my room (which I had found impossible at another large hotel in New Brunswick), but of course since every other adjacent room is cold, my room did not warm up much; and the windows cannot be opened. An excessive amount of AC is bad for the climate, so this policy should also be changed. Make AC voluntary in rooms, and decrease it considerably in areas of the hotel where people just pass through without stopping (e.g. the corridors leading to rooms).

Great location. We walked from train station. Lots of restaurants and bars. In the heart of rutgers campus. We went to watch a football game. It was about 1hour walk to stadium. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly.

Breakfast was a buffet for 20 dollars and it was not very good. I would not do breakfast again unless it was made to order food. Also, beds were soft. Not good for bad back. I also disliked the toiletries. I did not bring my own stuff so I had to use conditioner and it did not get the knots out of my hair.

The bathroom doesn’t have an exhaust fan so if you’re taking a shower you need to leave the door open. The bathroom door is warped from the moisture. I never saw anywhere in the website that there was no parking on the premises. You have to use the parking garage across the street or forced to use the valet. I don’t want anyone behind the wheel of my vehicle.

The personal starter with the front desk very friendly, helpful and professional. The housekeeper staff very professional and friendly The room very clean. For be an ex housekeeper supervisor for many year everything was by my standards. Thanks you

The only thing I was very disappointed was the parking I think if the person going to stay more than one day the hotel should validate the parking. The other thing I didn’t like was the price in the cocktail in the lobby bar they was very expensive special for the beers. Also I think the room should have microwave

Once I was able to check in, everything was good.

My issue was with Booking.com. I registered with my information and added my friend who was staying with me. They were not able to find the reservation and after trying to reach Booking.com for 1/2 hr, finally found out it was booked under my friend's name. Very frustrating.

I liked the location, the staff was polite an professional, an my room was very clean.

What I didn’t like was there was nowhere to park I had to ride around in circles to find somewhere to park each nite (annoying) They need a parking deck or lot.

Valet was convenient 30.00/ day. Good value. Really nice staff. Room very comfortable!!
