Tru By Hilton Asheville East, NC

The staff was beyond helpful and accommodating! They go above and beyond without having to even ask. One lady complained… loudly… about the omelette having meat in them b/c she is a vegetarian. I am too and felt I had plenty of options, but she wasn’t happy. They handled it very well and the of the time I was there, they had delicious scrambled eggs!

I had to run out around 8 to grab something and the area was sketchy. Closed down mall, etc. hopefully this hotel is part of a revitalization project. Oh the dumpster is next to the pool amd about 15 or so feet from the front of building. Friday is trash day. I’m sure we weren’t the only room that was woken by that. If there’s anyway to move that, I’d do it. But the staff more than made up for any inconvenience:)

New property that has a hip modern feel to it, we needed a last minute reservation and the front desk staff was kind and helpful in showing us the different rooms available after I told her I was a light sleeper. She gave good guidance on what would be a good room. The location is also nice and has a beautiful view of the mountains. I had a really nice night there.

There wasn't any big things wrong but this could be a great property if they paid more attention to detail eg in general the room felt clean and nice but I found one pube in my shower, in the morning the coffee was cold and had grounds in it, the floor coming out of the elevator was super slippery from the floor cleaning and I almost fell! The front desk staff in the morning was not friendly at all. I had a good night sleep that night but I think things really echo in the hotel and if the hotel was full it would be quite noisy if you're a light sleeper. But it's a lovely location and decent value for money if you can overlook a few things and aren't a light sleeper. I did have a really nice night there.

Overall, it was a very nice stay. The management and staff were so kind and helpful. I had problems with double booking from Booking.com and lost out on my King, hot tub suite for my birthday, but the manager spent over an hour with me to help me get a refund and assist me with another room. Over all, it was a great stay, beautiful location. I was close to the housekeeping lounge area where they were a little loud, HOWEVER, they were talking and laughing and I was happy to know they were enjoying each other and their jobs so all was good. They were all very sweet and did a great job. Thank you ALL for a beautiful stay there and for everything you did to help make our stay a nice one!

Everything was enjoyable

The facility was extremely nice - very clean & the lobby had tons of comfortable lounge areas (including a pool table). When we walked into the room, the smart TV had “Hi *Guest Name*” which I thought was a great touch. TV had options to watch Netflix, however you had to sign in using your own account. The bathroom was amazing - spacious, bright, and clean. Glass doors & great water pressure. Shampoo, Conditioner, and Body soap were included in bottles that attached to the wall of the shower. I personally loved the Body soap bc it didn’t leave a residue that cheap hotel bar soaps do & it smelled SO good. Hand soap & Body lotion were attached on the wall by the sink.

The bed was a little less comfortable than I would’ve liked. It had a fluffy topper & I do better with a stiffer mattress.

This was our first stay at a Tru Hotel. We were super impressed with the whole experience. We will be looking for the Tru experience everywhere we travel, from now on. The Lobby was so inviting and engaging. Such a breath of fresh air to stay in such a place as this.

There is absolutely nothing that I can complain about here. It was all good.

Loved the cool seating a mural when you walked in. Very neat vibe. We got some snacks at the front desk and things seemed to be pric d normally as I anticipated them to cost way more. We were actually given a handicapped accessible room so my expectations were exceeded because of reading all the review comments of everything being really compact. This was especially nice with a child.we didn't ask for it or expect it so it was nice.

My husband is gluten free so he didn't have many options for breakfast and basically every time I tried to get the 24 coffee during my stay it was out.

Staff at check-in were unprofessional at times. One lady working there walked away talking to someone on cell phone saying something like "I'm about to quit bc these people are stressing me out"...there was ONE person at the counter checking in :/...how stressful can it be?

The pool is next to the parking lot where all the cars are driving around and you're breathing in exhaust fumes. Some of the staff were not friendly, or downright unprofessional. I don't have a lot of patience for people like that when I'm paying to stay there, so I don't feel I need to put up with people like that. I just overheard or had to witness the unprofessional behavior, it wasn't directed towards me directly, but still not cool to have to see that while on vacation.

I loved that the hotel is very new (as of July 2021). Everything was very clean and fresh. The hardwood floors also gave it a much cleaner feeling. It also has a Mountain View which was beautiful each morning. The price was a great value. The staff was very helpful when we had questions or needed extra towels. They offer housekeeping by request due to COVID so be sure to ask if you want it.

The room has no storage - like there isn’t a closet or dresser to unpack your clothes. And the room is really tight - even for just 2 people. The breakfast was not great - boiled eggs and pancakes - but there were other continental options that we opted for.

What was there not to love?! The hotel was beautiful and inviting in and out. Staff was right there at the entrance and ready to assist. The Lounge area was beautiful and beyond comfortable. For your enjoyment, the Lounge also provided a billiards table and family board games. Inviting and friendly :) At the elevators on the main floor, there’s a chalkboard with a list of suggested local restaurants and activities for you and the family to enjoy. We booked a double queen (ignore our mess in the pics, I didn’t think to take pictures before we slept.) Plenty of pillows were provided and the beds were beyond comfortable. I slept the night away! The bathroom was beautiful and the setup very convenient. Plenty of towels and wash cloths. Though we did not make use of it, there is also a gym near the lounge area and an outside pool as well. I would highly recommend this stay and should we visit the area again, we definitely know where to book.

Value, location, staff are friendly, they did use a white board to write names of local attractions but people have a tendency to touch it and parts get erased. The pool and exercise room are nice and clean. There is a pool table that is also fun.

Soap and shampoo are in community use containers, you have to schedule housekeeping. No fliers available for local attractions. Not a didn't like but you need to be aware there is minimal storage for clothes, no in-room coffee, no microwave, and the small fridge is barely cool.
