Best Western Shallotte / Ocean Isle Beach Hotel

Location was perfect for us. The front desk staff were amazingly pleasant and helpful. The hotel, overall had a very fresh appealing feel to it.

Our room, 205, had a very dirty sticky floor, and there was food left on the floor from previous guests. It was only on the side of the room away from the door, and the rest of the room was spotless, so it may have been an oversight, but it was definitely noticeable. Someone also needs to make sure the large amount of construction workers that use the smoking/picnic area to eat and get drunk realize that's it's right near the pool and young children don't need to hear and see a lot of the things they were doing.

I loved the fact you had to have a key card to enter any door other than the main entrance. It is a great safety measure.

The carpet on the first floor was wrinkled and could be a serious fall/trip hazard. It needs to be cut and reseamed or removed altogether. The doors kept closing pretty early, I am not sure if it was maid service or a family next to us.

The front desk was friendly. The hotel was extremely clean and I was so surprised because I was looking for an disappointment. I would recommend this place and its only 15 minutes from Holden Beach, Ocean Isle Beach and Cherry Beach. Also it is 30 minutes from North Myrtle Beach. Very good location. Breakfast was descent..

The beds was uncomfortable

Location was convenient for traveling, very relaxed area. Staff was helpful and polite. Room was excellent and clean. Building was very quiet at almost all hours.

We had went to our room at 3am of the checkout day(check out at 11am) and our keycards had stopped working, BUT the woman at the front desk was helpful and made us new cards and apologized for the inconvenience.

Location was good (15 minutes from the beach), very clean, staff was very friendly, great breakfast!

The people in the room next door had a dog that barked every time I opened/closed my room door and it was late at night. They eventually got him/her to calm down. The price was just a little more than most of the same type of stays at other locations but I suspect that may be due to location. Oh, and the bed frame... they stick out farther than the mattress and I busted my knee on them twice! Sharp corners are extremely painful! I have some nice bruises too. I could definitely see serious injuries happening. I was just glad it wasn't my granddaughter's head. A hot tub would have been nice!

Nice breakfast with good coffee. Very well stocked with fresh fruit. Very clean! Wish there was a coffee table in front of the tv area instead of stools. Thanks to the workers there.

Can’t think of anything except there should be a coffee table instead of stools to put a cup on.

Staff at desk friendly and helpful. Great number of room charging stations. 24 hour coffee. Ability to set an exact room temperature. Comfortable bed.

Space exists between the headboard and mattress where pillows migrate. Carpet in hallways is loose. Meats in hot breakfast were all sausage.

The hotel was clean. Breakfast had many options. Beds were comfortable. The hotel itself looks beautiful.

There was a musty smell when first walking in the rooms but maybe it was the smell of the cleaning products as we got to our room right after they cleaned it. And we didn't notice it much after.

Location and value are the two highest on my list. The property and our room were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The fridge in our room was larger than most in-room refrigerators, which was a plus.

Breakfast was a bust. The staff member did not show up for work, so the food was limited to package products. Hard to find people who want to work anymore. Also all the common areas plus our room was comfortable. But no AC in the elevator? Every time I entered it, it was 20 deg warmer than the hallway/lobby. With only two floors, that's not a big inconvenience, but I mention it because you asked.

The hotel, from the exterior, interior, even the elevators were immaculate. Everything had a freshly, clean, sanitized appearance and smell. The room was clean, spacious. Wi-Fi was great. Even though we were told the hotel was booked to capacity, it was pleasantly quiet. The breakfast was an added bonus!

There was nothing that I did not like or had an issue with during our stay!
