I booked this bed and breakfast because I thought my wife would enjoy it and it would make out sad family funeral trip a little more enjoyable. We are in town to attend a funeral or my mother in law. I am a very complain filled person that usually expects the worst, but the wait staff and family running the bed and breakfast are incredibly hospitable. The staff there really make you feel at home. The place is very old and antique yet very nicely kept up for a 100 year old house. I was pleasantly surprised on how welcoming the staff are. They Start off by telling you the history of the house and stories about the house while showing you around, and then they show you to your room and they conveniently check with you to make sure that you have everything and that all your basic needs are attended to.

I didn’t care for the breakfast but that was no fault of their own. I am just way too picky to please. My wife is the better judge of how elegantly delicious the meal was because I only like unhealthy foods with certain spices. I’m am an ihop pancake kind of guy. However, I am certain if I uttered one single word they would have stoped in their tracks to make me some buttermilk pancakes just like I like at the eggs up grill. The story remains true that whenever the momma is happy then everyone is happy. Momma was delighted There fore so was I.

The Owner and the Inn Keeper were both so kind and inviting. The breakfasts were exceptional with a ton of variety. And the B&B was very close to walking distance of Uptown Shelby for tons of shopping, eating, and live entertainment.

Would have been nice to have access to coffee the majority of the day rater than in the morning only. Also, this isn't a "dislike" per se, but thought it was worth noting that the sign outside by the street of the house does NOT do the house justice. From the looks of the sign, it makes the place look like a haunted house which of course is far from the truth, ha!

I cannot say enough good things about this place! Myself and my 6 year old son stayed. The location was perfect. It is a BEAUTIFUL home with so many intricate details. I forgot the name of the lady who was there for our stay, but she was so amazing. She was so sweet and treated my son like royalty. He hasn’t stopped talking about how nice she was. The room was plenty big enough, it was o clean. The bed was so comfy! Highly recommend staying here.

The only negative was that the listing stated there was a shower and bath. My son hates showers, so that was disappointing.

It is a beautiful Craftsman house. After being with family during the day we were able to relax downstairs in one of the 2 sitting rooms to have a glass of wine before heading out for dinner. The room was very large, fictional and nicely decorated. Breakfast was served in served in the beautiful dining room with coffered ceiling, fireplace and wonderful Craftsman wood moldings. The breakfast was fantastic every day. We actually requested half portions because they were so generous.

Great old house with large rooms. Excellent location close to downtown. Great staff (Pam) who also gave us a nice tour of the home and it's history. She also made us a full breakfast - eggs, grits, fruit, bacon, etc

Most of the rooms have a small window unit which I guess would cool the rooms nicely. We were in the bedroom on the first floor that had central heat and air. Unfortunately the system struggled to cool off the bedroom. It looks like part of the problem was they had allowed the home to get to 76 degrees inside and it took all night to get to 73. That is a little warm for sleeping. Since a window unit is not that expensive I would suggest getting one for this bedroom. This would also be less expensive than trying to cool down the whole downstairs. If you get an upstairs room you should be fine.

Every staff person was extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. The inn was exceptionally clean. Loved the welcoming low-volume jazz music playing in the room when I entered. Very calming. I liked that there was an additional power-surge outlet strip in the room and my own air conditioner to control. I also appreciated the fresh flowers, thick and soft towels, "roses" adorning the tissue, and the hair dryer provided. I felt safe staying here. The doors to the inn stay locked. Guests are given keys for entry as well as for their own rooms. The La Sal room actually had two locking doors. The breakfast served during my stay was honey dew melon, cinnamon-honey yogurt parfait, biscuit covered in sausage gravy, coffee, and strawberry-infused water. There were no homemade snacks such as cookies or anything like that. However, they did have a few individual-sized, prepackaged snacks and bottled water available. Enjoyed a walk to the local farmer's market. Children are given a token to exchange for $2 in produce there. Overall, this B & B is a lovely place to stay.

While I loved the aged-character (built in early 1900's) and the decor of the bathroom in the La Sal room, I did not care for the cold shower. I let the water run for a good bit before resigning to a cold shower. So glad it was summer time! The shower in this bathroom is small, but it is effecient. A wider shower curtain would be beneficial as the current one does not reach from side-to-side, leaving gaps. The La Sal room is beautifully decorated. It would be nice if guests were able to draw some type of curtain or shade since the current curtains are sheer.

Breakfast was so delicious and made enticing by the staff that I could not resist though I am not a 'breakfast person'! I, in fact, later wished I had had the eggs as well as all else.

The decor in the sitting rooms is a bit stiff for me though it is compatible with the period of the house. It felt a bit heavy so some less formal application to the design of the interior would offer a more relaxed atmosphere in keeping with the friendly, warmth of the staff and owner. In the future, the owner may be able to incorporate more contemporary American paintings, contemporary art glass vases and up to date colors for a more outstanding interior.

First time here and it was absolutely wonderful. The house has the most warm and inviting atmosphere! Like being at home away from home except we had Ms. Wanda! She is an absolute jewel. She was so welcoming, fun and instantly become a part of “our family “ because she treated us like “her family”! She’ll do the same for you. Our experience at Morgan and Wells B&B was like a breath of fresh air that we sorely needed in our busy lives. We will definitely be returning again & again for our getaways.

I was greeted in the parking lot upon arrival, given a tour of the facilities, and briefed on the surrounding amenities. Incredible breakfasts, extremely clean home, and the bed and bath linens were crisp. Fresh flowers were delivered to each room daily. Very affordable. This type of service one would expect it to be much more.Very friendly and accommodating staff. Will definitely stop in again when in Shelby.

The staff was amazing. Pam was knowledgeable and so hospitable. The house is historical and beautiful. We stayed in the Green Room. The room was clean beyond covid protocol and very comfortable and the breakfast provided by Chef Reeves was delicious. Make sure to let them know when you're going to check in. Communication is key. The location was perfect. Close to Uptown Shelby resteraunts, music, the historical Don Gibson Theater, Earl Scruggs Museum etc.....

We can't think of anything. We loved everything!
