Hampton Inn & Suites - Elyria

The staff was very accommodating. Very responsive and eager to help. My sister needed a handicap accessible bathroom and there is only one room available but it is a king size with only one bed. The staff found a shower bench which did help.

The hotel could use some more handicap accessible rooms especially with two beds. There were not enough bath towels available. There were 4 of us in the room and only enough towels and washcloths for 2 people. The front desk gave us two more. The next day, I asked the house keeper for towel service and he only had two towels, 2 washcloths and had to give me 2 hand towels to use as bath towels. Also, coming and going from the room in the morning the rooms that were being cleaned had piles of dirty linen outside the doors. A dirty linen cart would be nice so guests don't have to dodge dirty linen piles.

Rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was very good and offered a variety of well prepared foods. Staff were friendly and customer focused. Facilities were up to the highest standards.

Something needs to be done about the pavement leading to the motel. I don't know who owns that portion of the property, but it is in a state of neglect and disrepair. The potholes pose risk to vehicles passing in and out. This is a longstanding complaint which obviously has gone unanswered.

Staff was friendly and attentive. Room was nice; beds were very comfortable, pillows amazingly soft/plush, bathroom was clean and setup nicely, TV was.... as good as any other hotels I've stayed in, had some good channel options. No Hallmark, which I was a bit disappointed about, but had a couple HBO channels, which I felt made up for it. Breakfast in the morning [from 6 to 10] was very nice, had a lot of options to choose from, and definitely ate our fill.

The room next to us had noisy kids, but I understand that that happens, sometimes. It did not stop me from falling right to sleep after driving so far. The freezer in the mini fridge was quite dirty, like a soda may have exploded in it, and then it wasn't cleaned up. And the tray that goes under the freezer kept falling down from it being warped. The mini coffee maker was in the bathroom, which I found a little odd, but I don't drink coffee, so that didn't have an impact on me.

Check-in and check-out both were easy. The staff was professional and courteous. Breakfast was adequate. The room was clean bed was made up nicely but it was a little lumpy. The mattress probably should have been flipped or changed. I slept backward with my head at the foot of the bed problem was solved.

I thought the breakfast was really good. I was only expecting bagels, toast, juice and coffee. I was pleasantly surprised.

I didn’t know that room service was by request only. It would have been nice to have been informed at check in. I now know for next time. There will be a next time.

The property was clean, well lit and comfortable. All that we wanted for a one night stay.

The only disappointment was the breakfast. It was literally the as the one we got at cheaper hotels during our trip. We expect more from Hampton -eg real as opposed to powdered eggs, more than one meat choice etc.

Clean. Comfortable. A spacious room. Located very near the interstate. A decent breakfast, with a variety of food options. Competent, friendly staff. I'd stay here again.

Other reviewers were correct when they noted that this property is located in a run-down area in a mostly abandoned shopping mall area. The access roads are in rough shape. Otherwise, however, the property itself is in good shape.

The staff was great. I stayed 3 nights and all I needed was to change my towels, I kept the room tidy. Breakfast was a hot and cold buffet. I paid for a king suite and there was plenty of room.

The area was deserted...and watch out for the huge potholes going in and out of there.

Very comfortable bed, convenient location for driving, good breakfast, good lighting in the room, good light-blocking shades for sleeping, helpful staff.

Breakfast was good. Cleanliness and size of the room was excellent. The hallways, carpeting were dirty. Location and access to I-90 was perfect. Location in a mostly deserted, run down failed mall was creepy. No selection of good restaurants nearby. Staff was friendly and helpful. A special shout out to Walter at the front desk. He was most helpful for anything we needed. You have a fine employee there.
