This place is PERFECT! I lamented over choosing a hotel in Astoria and the reviews led me to the Bowline. First, at check in Kat and Marissa were awesome. Complementry bubbly, visiting tips, good convo- we felt immediately at home. The property is on a dock on the Columbia river. There were sea lions there!!!! The bar & restaurant *food & service are top notch! There are saunas- not my thing but my partner loves them. They overlook the river, very cool thing. There is ample outdoor seating with a cozy fire, connection to bike rental, and a little trolly rolls by and stops out front. We are from the east coast and flew to the W coast to see some things and visit loved.ones...we drove about 3k miles in 8 days so it was sometimes hard to find a.great place to rest while not missing what the location has to offer. The rooms were clean, industrial modern, we had a rear not river front room and comfy chairs and outdoor seating. This place was perfect! I joined the loyalty program and will keep this hotel group on my radar for sure! It is a perfect location. Easy walk to lots of sigjts, eats, drinking.

NA. The sea lions are noisy ish but i loved it AND they provided ear plugs with the sea lion warning- they migrate and you could hear them allll over the island

What a treat to stay at the Bowline! Our room was huge, so clean, filled with wonderful amenities that make a difference in a 'good stay' and an 'excellent stay'! Funny: ear plugs to use in case of seals..how creative! The French Press coffee, the coffee in a small glass jar, the selection of FRESH loose tea (in their own jars) and real locally made coffee mugs to use, just made the Bowline more unique! The bathroom was HUGE, the sofa sleeper, fireplace and overall size of our room, was fantastic!!! The bathroom products were elegant and felt great on the skin! We really enjoyed looking at all the old time photos on the walls in the corridors! There were even books/novels in the room that pertained to Astoria which was great to start reading! This converted warehouse now Boutique-style hotel was everything we hoping for and more! Next time we'll make sure to use the sauna pods, enjoy the bar and listen to the live music in the lobby! We would definitely stay here again and we will recommend this to everyone!

Maybe add a 'door stopper' or 'door latch' for the barn door into the bathroom? The door would slowly slide open when you're in the bathroom! Also maybe have a bottle opener in the room too? Parking was 'on the street' but we had no issues finding parking close by. Hard to suggest things that we didn't like because we loved our stay!!

The restaurant/bar had fantastic food. Like really good. The room was fab; ours had a fireplace which was lovely. Location right on the water was great

Parking could've been more clear. The room was noisy, but only because of the sea lions living under the boardwalk that the hotel is on. It's really amusing until it wakes you up. But to be fair: the hotel provides a very good white noise machine (loud rain sounds) which totally masked the sea lions. I think it was mating season! We got to see a couple of them over the rail outside of the hotel, which was cool.

Bowline was very comfortable and cozy. The rooms were spacious and had many amenities like a soaking tub and loose leaf teas. The staff was wonderful and accommodating, they treated my travelling party and pupper extremely well. The room service was absolutely incredible, fresh from the kitchen and bar, one of the best meals I've had in Astoria.

Since the hotel is on the pier you will experience wildlife and water noises. We stayed during a particularly energetic winter storm and the debris under the pier was quite noisy. Thankfully, the hotel provides ear plugs to help cancel out the noise, and honestly it was pretty neat listening to the storm from our room.

Everything! Staff, especially front desk Jim, was charming, helpful and efficient. The public space and view deck is beautiful. The room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed and trendy decor and furnishings. The “little things” like the coffee/tea service bar, the wireless charging station, and luxury bath products made the experience extraordinary.

We have no suggestions for improvement. My only thought was to have a larger bedside table for guest miscellany.

Location on the riverfront with sea lions living below the deck was certainly unusual. While we worried about the loud barking of the sea lions, the noise after hours was not noticeable in our room. Fun to see the enormous animals so close. Very well appointed room with ceiling fan and gas woodstove; nice little balcony with chairs for two. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great bar on first floor. Nice riverfront deck and gas fire pit with incomparable river views. Two decent outdoor barrel saunas (nice bathrobes provided in room for the trek). Restaurant on site although we did not eat there. Great Italian restaurant a few blocks down the street named 'Fede'

Parking is either by valet service (for a fee) or hunt for overnight street parking -- unexpected at this price point. No elevator but that was expected. I'm not a fan of shower gel -- would appreciate a small soap bar. Nice tea and french press setup with an electric kettle but no sugar/creamers/stir sticks Mattress on the soft side for us.

We booked this hotel while on our road trip and it was a perfect stop. The staff was very welcoming, the hotel is cool and trendy, the beds are comfortable, the homemade granola at breakfast was delicious. Upon check in we were told the hotel has an agreement with the nearby bike shop and cruiser bikes are free for one hour. It was great! I would recommend the bike path in the direction opposite to the bridge, much more scenic and quieter. Good for walking, running and/or biking.

The seals are noisy even at nighttime. There are earplugs in the bedroom. Our bedroom was not too hot with the ceiling fan but we were not there on a hot day.

We only stayed here one night and I am genuinely sad about that and plotting a way to return! A great boutique hotel at a great location. It was fun watching the boats each morning and evening. The room was clean and the style very trendy. The Prosecco at check-in was a welcome surprise after a long day of traveling. The location was excellent for walking around and exploring Astoria. We had the unfortunate experience of a pipe bursting during our stay which triggered the fire alarms and fire department but the staff handled it like pros, offering everyone coffee and mimosas for the inconvenience. Can't say enough positive things about this hotel!

The bar area can get a little loud in the evening, especially if you have a room close to it. That said, the hotel fixes this issue by providing sound machines and ear plugs :)

Really enjoyed every detail of the bowline. The staff was excellent. The decor and location was perfect. This was a splurge for us and it was worth it

Loved our stay with you minus one big draw back. Our room was way too hot. I really had trouble sleeping which as a big deal. We kept out window and door open for as long as possible but it was not safe to do so all night as we were on the ground floor.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, right on the riverwalk and easily walkable to lots of restaurants, breweries, and shops. We enjoyed the spacious, updated room and it was nice to have a restaurant and bar on site.

This isn't the hotel's fault, but it seems that a bunch of sea lions have made their home right underneath the hotel. Be prepared for lots of barking. The hotel supplied a sound machine and ear plugs, which helped a lot.
