Sandcastle Beachfront

The room faced the beach, which was exactly what we wanted. The room was clean, efficient, and comfortable. Check-in was easy and the front office staff were professional and kind. We could easily access the beach from a set of steps near the hotel so we got to walk on the beach in the evenings, and again in the morning. We also enjoyed they offered free ice so we could refill our cooler for the rest of our travels.

We were on the third floor (which seems typical of Booking dot com rooms) but it was ok since we packed light. Might be an issue for some folks to carry their luggage up three flights of stairs, but we were fine. The rooms are slightly 'dated' but the price was really good for what we received. We'd stay there again.

The view is phenomenal for the value! We loved that we were able to walk to good food and cute nearby shops. The reception staff was very nice and helpful. I had forgotten my wine bottle opener, so I called the office to see where I might buy one nearby. He let me know he had a bottle opener in the office and opened my bottle of wine for me. Great service that was much appreciated!

One of the reasons I chose the hotel was because the bed comfort rating was so high. Unfortunately, the one in our room is past due to be replaced. The sleep indentations were quite deep, so it was not supportive or very comfortable.

I went into this with low expectations. I just wanted to be able to see the ocean from my room. My kiddo (4years old) has been wanting to stay at a hotel for a while. This room did not disappoint. Check in was seamless. Staff are friendly and helpful. Motel is right on the beach. Only 8 steps down to the sand. The room was clean. There is a small kitchenette stocked with some dishes. Gorgeous ocean view from a cute little balcony. There is a gas fireplace. Beds are comfortable. There are plenty of towels and pillows. Great value for what you get. I booked for 2 nights. I didn't want to leave so I booked an additional night. I can't wait to come back. I deffinately recommend renting a room at this motel.

The shower curtain? Really it was the only thing that bothered me at all. It was the most minor of inconviniences.

The location is beach front! You only need to walk a few steps and your feet are in the sand😊♥️The front of the room is all glass with a sliding door so the view is wonderful always!! The staff was wonderful in accommodating us as we came a day earlier than planned. The units that we love on the bottom floor have a queen bed in a separate room with a door that closes and a queen bed in the main area complete with a full kitchen; stove, microwave, coffee maker, sink, full size refrigerator, and the necessary dishes, pots and pans etc. Also in the main area is a dining table with 4 chairs and 2 recliners. The bathroom is small but functional, dated, with a big tub that I love. It is perfect for us for three main reasons; 1) it allows us to keep our own schedule without bothering the other person,( I am a morning person, husband is not), 2) I have Celiac and do not eat out very often and it is convenient to bring and make my own food, 3) 24/7 easy access to the beach whether viewing or walking.

The door area from the parking lot is a little drafty and I had to put the rug up against the door.

Beach access and view was spectacular!! Staff was fantastic and incredibly accommodating as I switched from one room to another with two reservations back to back. Hot tub was excellent! Probably one of the warmest tubs in a hotel, that I've been to. Thank you!!

Not much to improve on, overall it was a great visit and I'll be back. A couple things to share... 1) The pool would have been more enjoyable if it were a little warmer. 2) Please consider extending your hours for the pool and hot tub. As an adult I would have liked to go in early for laps prior to families being allowed in. I live and work at Breitenbush Hot Springs and our pools are open around the clock. Is there a reason you cannot allow this area to be used by adults 24/7? Perhaps only have Family/Children Only Hours? 3) Please consider adding a workout room. Not a lot needed but perhaps a treadmill and stationary bike? Maybe a few weights? A warmer pool with adult hours and a place to work out would have made this 150% amazing!

Location!! Right on the ocean! Close to shopping and the casino and to town. What more could you ask? Clean room, due to COVID needed to request extra towels, etc but whatever it takes to keep the business abiding by the rules and staying open I’m willing to do also. Pool was open but as I was traveling on business I didn’t have time to use the pool.

It’s not a secret how amazing this place and staff are, so it’s difficult to always get a last minute reservation. But try anyway, you won’t be disappointed if you’re lucky to find an available room. The only drawback for some may be there isn’t an elevator, just stairs. So be sure to request a ground floor room!

The hotel, while a bit older, is well maintained and is right on the beach. Our room was clean and comfortable with a fireplace and balcony overlooking the beach. The staff is friendly but didn't bug us about anything. Definitely recommend, especially for longer stays where the proximity to the ocean can be enjoyed.

The only downside to the Sandcastle is there's no elevator. 30 steps up doesn't sound like a lot, but when you are carrying luggage, it is quite a hike.

Three of us stayed in a third floor room with a separate bedroom plus bed in the ‘L’ of the living room. There were loads of comfy pillows and towels and everything, including the bathroom, was exceptionally clean (and no weird smells). The view is exceptional looking right out over the ocean and we heard no noises from any other guests. We used the pool around 5pm and had it to ourselves for most of the time.. Nothing’s fancy here, and there’s a bare minimum of cooking pans (bring your own if you want to bake), but it wasn’t a problem for us. The heaters in all rooms worked well and quickly, with their own thermostats. We were very cozy in somewhat stormy weather.

It was a little older property (yes, that is a like) without a lot of bells and whistles. The price was more than fair (I didn't have to pay for bells and whistles that I don't use). The fireplace was nice and cozy. The room was exceptionally clean! Fantastic view.

The shower had only hot water, however I'm thinking that this was a new maintenance issue that mgmt wasn't aware of. Neglect is not a word I would use to describe this motel. There wasn't an elevator, however, for the price, I was quite happy to take the stairs to the 3rd floor.

The view of the ocean and beach from the room is as good as any on the beach. Low beach access at the motel and 2 small adjacent public access points is great. It was easy to get to and from the beach from the motel. One other important point was the third floor room with a king bed was very quiet, even with all the rooms around us occupied, quiet every day for the whole week we were there.

I wish there was a better way to get air flow though the unit, especially on clear, sunny days over 60 degrees in the afternoon. The room gets pretty warm. That would help cool the room down, after the sun had heated the room to a too warm level. The parking stalls were a little tight, but probably necessary since the parking area is limited. There was an overflow lot across the street to help accommodate the overflow.
